Informative thanks. My honest opinion is, don't be discouraged if you already have your clutch industrial sewing machine, it also does the work and as per speed, you can control it. Guys pls love whatever machine you have just as you love yourself one day money go flourish and then you can get whatever luxury machine you desire. God bless our hustle. Ire o!
Thank you so much for this... I've been using direct drive where i work but the Bobbin winder got spoilt and the engineer said they can't repair it since since the part are not in Nigeria but i just bought the normal two lion machine to be on a safee side
Thanks a lot for the info. I want to buy an industrial machine and I was checking out videos that would tell the difference between the machines and I came across this. Now I’m convinced on what I actually want and the machine I’m buying ❤
This has been a great and informative video. I have my eyes set on a seiko walking foot machine and many bag making videos have said to get a servo motor, but this machine is a clutch and I was worried that I wasn't getting a servo motor, but actually didn't know what they meant. So thank you for clearing the confusion up for me.
Good day. Thanks for the information. But I think the direct drive is more 💯 % stronger, neater, and more automatic than the clutch sewing. I have the two in my shop I have used them and saw a lot different between them. Firstly, when it's comes to strong fabric (thick fabric) the direct drive does a better job.it can penetrate any thickness of fabric without any skipping of thread..when you have a bad connection /high voltage the direct drive simply tells you by show E07 or E01 (error) and it will on its own stop working (sewing). When your thread gets into the engine (the bobbin case engine it will also tell you by showing E07.. When your voltage is low it will show off yet it will still be working but the speed will reduce.. The direct drive also have the needle settings and also the curve speed settings. It also have the start up settings (when u want to start sewing your fabric you can set it to the number of stitches you want to strt in terms of speed before the actual speed of the machine.. It has a lot of advantages over the clutch machine.
Direct drive is a machine with the motor integrated into the machine with no belt. The main sewing shaft is driven directly by the motor. A traditional machine can use a clutch motor or a servo with a belt. Direct drive increases torque and reduces slipping in the case of a motor with a belt.
Thanks a lot for this info, wanted to get a two lion machine yesterday, and I saw the direct drive machine but don’t even have any idea of it. Buh then my spirit was withdrawn frm the clutch machine and I had to purse buying till I have peace of buying and I came online to check if I should buy d direct drive And gbam! I saw this training of urs on how to choose. God bless you richly sis. Yes I will go for direct drive , I’m settling up my shop for grand opening . I just love everything about it and the fact that I can power even 10 if it wit my 4.5 kava machine or use Inverter is a wao about it.
Thanks so much for the information, was really helpful but please do you know about the 2 lion embroidery industrial machine that does straight & zigzag stitch with button hole as well, what advice can you give please 🙏 for someone that wants to but industrial machine for the first time, is it really durable
Direct drive means the motor is connected directly to the sewing machine. DD is more powerful, delivers more torque and eliminates the use of drive-belts.
I have to decide between a 1342 leather stitching machine with a direct-drive servo motor and a 1342 with a belt-drive servo motor with speed reducer. Which one is better for slow-speed torque for stitching 1/2 inch leather?
Pls ma ,this video is very informative. Am a beginner, which machine would you advice me to use as a beginner. Cos considering the price range for manual current is around 190k. I would rather save and get something better. Play I need ur advice thanks
One bad thing about direct drive is when the machine spoils you need to carry the whole machine to the mechanic but clutch motor you can detach the motor for repairs.

I've been searching and nowhere...I mean nowhere does anyone give the power rating watts/hp of a direct drive machine making it very difficult to compare with an external powered machine. I understand because its direct coupled to the shaft, it doesn't loose power through the belt and pulleys and can be smaller. I'm also looking at a non direct drive serger with external servo mtr and the dealer suggested a 1hp servo motor upgrade instead of the std 1/2 hp. I'm not sure if thats enough power for 4 layers of denim like non-woven material 0.75 mm thick? He didn't think it was necessary to send him a sample?
This video is very helpful I just got mine this evening and I think I bought the right one do I'm a learner but I bought the one with clutch motor. Just subscribed to ur channel.

My opinion on reducing the speed on clutch motor is on the belt if you ajust the belt to be slack the speed will reduce
Will it not affect the threading like will the thread cut?
