My favorite moment in Dodo videos are when these guys get to their new home for the first time, and just get to zonk out and sleep after years of living life in danger.
When my daughter picked up her cat on the street, I told her we would have to find another home for the cat because we already had two cats and lived in a small apartment. For the next three days that cat slept ON my daughter almost all the time. That’s how we ended up with three cats. 😂
That little tuxedo really understands GRATITUDE. It's real, animals get it. Animals have an emotional life, anyone who says animal's do not have "higher emotions" has either never lived with animals, or is so unobservant, that they should not have an opinion.
@@teagoldleaf4137 im really starting to doubt that majority of cats usually are forced to socialize and forced to eb indoors cats are always leaving cause they are outdoor pets
He is a beautiful black and white spotted, but not a tuxedo. Honestly not trying to be one of "those correcting people". Just thought you would like to know.
Moo moo came from a colony, clipped ear means someone did a a tnr and him being warm with your cat shows he's uses to other cats grooming him and vice versa. So nice of you to take in such a lovely boy!
"We had no idea where he came from..." Clipped ear = part of a Neuter and Release scheme. Unusual for such a cat to be so friendly. Glad he found a loving home.
My adopted cat came from a TNR rescue too but he definitely was not feral since he has such a sweet personality so they put him up for adoption. He sadly was either abandoned or lost his family since he didn't behave like a feral cat.
@@neortik7 this is the first time I adopted a cat from a TNR group to learn of this practice of ear clipping. I do not know why they think this is the only way to identify a feral cat if it is trapped again. It is cruel and I learned from discussion in other another country they tattoo their ear instead.
@@neortik7 Retired vet here... In the past tattoos were tried, but they weren't practical. Often you can't get close enough or pick a feral up to see a tattoo. Ear clipping is the easiest way to see the neuter status in a feral cat colony. It's just the tip and done under anesthesia. It heals fast and it's not terribly painful.
Moo is a video about gratitude and thankfulness--a cat's gratitude for his new family and the family's thankfulness of a family for the happiness that cat brought with him.
The left cropped ear shows that he was trapped and neutered previously (TNR or Trap, Neuter, Release). I take care of a colony of ferals I TNR them. Thank you for taking care of this handsome boy.
@aGreyMine I sometimes wonder how many settled neighbourhood pets get caught up like this. And by the way, research shows that neutering the males only makes them vulnerable to being driven out of their hime area by the young up-and-coming intact (testosterone filled) males from the adjoining neighbourhood. To be effective, catch neuter and release has to be on a really big, citywide scale. And it needs to prioritise females.
@@eh1702 Unfortunately it's not always that easy. Shelters are overfilling and since he was trapped before he is a bit older and god knows how long he was out there before they first found him. He managed well on the streets since he had no injuries of any kind, he was dirty but still had somewhat good weight (someone probably fed him), and I'd rather see him choose his own human like he fortunately did than having him end up in a shelter, potentially being mislabeled aggressive or feral and ultimately euthanized. It's a difficult topic. I personally think the cats that should be taken into the shelters are the ones that cannot survive on their own due to injuries or medical issues or their territory causes them to be in constant danger. Sure I'd love every cat to have a roof over their head but the sad reality is that this is only something we can continue to dream of with the capacity that the shelters hold.
THANK YOU for your love and kindness of cats. 3 months ago a stray found me. Instantly I knew it was meant to be.
