Hey there! 🌟 First off, a big thank you for all the fantastic info you provide! I'm on the hunt for new earbuds and would love your guidance. I've got my eye on the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, but I've noticed they only support LHDC, AAC, and SBC codecs. My Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, supports AAC, SBC, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, LC3, and Opus.
I'm curious if the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 will deliver a great experience on the AAC codec (I read a rumor about an LC3 codec update too). If not, do you have any recommendations in the ballpark of 150 EUR? Sound quality, volume, and solid bass are my top priorities. Multi-connectivity is a plus for me too. Thanks a bunch! 🙌

Sometime when I use my Buds Pro 2, the people I call complain that they can't hear me anymore.
While testing with a dictaphone app, I realized that sometimes the microphone used, was that of the phone, and not that of the Buds Pro 2

Really nicely done review! Any idea if these and earpuds in general can last much longer, say for like 8 hours if only the volume level is set to mimum? Or is the bluetooth connection itself the major batterylife limiting factor? Planning to get these but not sure if they would last a night of e-book audio with minimum volume.
Volume would make a difference.. Haven't tested how much it would though

It's criminal how underviewed/subbed you are for the quality and thoroughness of your videos. You're one of the few people (i don't know of anyone else) who has an audiophile perspective on the consumer TWS sector, and you also care enough to review the whole package product. So for those of us who prefer wired, high end audio but also live in reality and need to commute, Nobody else does this kind of reviewing.
One thing I'd like to see is a report on how well the ANC handles loud, low, pulsing/droning/vibrating sounds. Not sure if you have anything around that can even do this, but all of the ferries (slow and fast) in my area around seattle have large marine engines that make many products with ANC absolutely FREAK out. The Anker Liberty 4's were the worst offenders - with the ANC on in any ways they'd try to kill you because they were always trying to cancel out the sound about a quarter second behind when it happened, so it'd just be creating CONSTRUCTIVE interference instead of destructive, making it louder and worse. The Philips fidelio L3's did it to a lesser extent, and 1more evo's aren't phased at all by it. I do notice the effect sometimes on the train, but on the ferry, the only thing that I've tried that truly works so far, are the 1more evo's.
I'm just waiting for one of the audiophile companies like Moondrop, fiio or 7hz to come up with a really competitive TWS with acceptable ANC in a good case with a usable app and proper audiophile sound. A 7hz TWS with a planar magnetic driver, LDAC and ANC in the $250 range would be killer.

@@imwhatsnew It's probably not a huge deal to many people, but having noticed just how bad it is on some ANC devices on the ferries (also diesel engine turbo whistle can be BAD) I now notice when it happens on more common public transit like buses and the train. I'd recommend trying a variety of public transit with the liberty 4's if you still have them, and seeing if something (big, low, droning, pulsing/vibrating sounds) in your area can make them angry, and then using that as a test run for each. Because it's something NOBODY else tests, but is dramatic for some of us and a good test of how fast an ANC system is at reacting to sounds.

Hi i am getting offer for Sony Linkbuds S and One plus buds pro 2 and Samsung buds 2 pro almost equal pricing. Which is better in teams of sound quality and mic quality. Any suggestions.

I'd recommend the OnePlus
You would only get all the features when you use one plus 11 or one plus 10 pro. They have LDHC 4.0 loseless codec and the phone must support it unlike the AAC codec you use with Samsung fold phone. Even the fast charging happens when you use one plus wrap charger.
What is your opinion on Soundcore Liberty 4 NC? I've recently purchased Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and Sony Linkbuds S and both sound too balanced, if not too bright for me. I would love to hear opinions on Liberty 4 NC as a bassy alternative to these.

BTW you were absolutely right about how well Linkbuds S respond to an EQ. I think it's the first TWS buds I experienced where EQ really helped to turn things around for me. For many other TWS buds EQ doesn't do much, I guess due to the overall inferior sound capabilities of wireless.

No need to squeeze hard..my buds pro and buds pro 2, both stems are working good and with a gentle squeeze every action will work..just u need to get habituated to squeeze

Thanks! While my measurements do not reflect this, I have to say, my rig isn't the most scientific accurate and shouldn't be taken as measurement in isolation. It is however, quite useful for comparative review. So it should be pretty good to comparing anc performance between two different Iems but one shouldn't take a specific attenuation value at any frequency. Also, upto 48db unfortunately means very little... They would just take the best performing frequency band and say its 48db but that's like saying speakers are 8ohm.. It doesn't show the entire picture.. Not even close.

Most of the Chinese manufacturers really try to sell that number. Even the new realme buds 5 Pro are advertising 50db but it's really not telling the while picture. In fact I think the xm5 headphones state 30db yet we all know how good those things are.

Honestly this case sucks because it is too huge. The point of earbuds to be as ergonomic and as portable as possible while providing good sound quality.
Actually the case is really really small.. I was suprised how small it is.
