- Ganzo Firebird FH41 Review - Could This Be The Best Ganzo
The Ganzo FH41 is the latest release from Ganzo for 2019. With it's G10 scales, the Ganzo Firebird 41 has a blade length of about 3.5 inches or 8.8 cm. Although the Ganzo 41 looks like a larger knife, it actually has the weight of a smaller one at 3.57 ounces or 101.3 grams. The Ganzo Firebird F41 deploys fairly quick with the flipper tab. The ball-bearing pivot also aids with deployment of the Firebird Ganzo FH41 blade which utilizes D2 steel.

Lovely gesture jay, thank you for good review. Got one coming but good luck to everyone. Atb paddy 👍😊🍀
Glad you got one on the way pad, interested in hearing your opinion. Thank you my friend.
It’s a beauty!
Just got the knife (black version). Amazing knife. Definitely worth getting.
I have the FH21 and it’s a very good knife. I don’t know of anything out there better for less money
I agree, it's a fantastic knife Joh. Thanks for watching.
Recently picked up the FH-41 and seems like they took some of the constructive criticism well. The pocket clip can now be put on the opposite side, which on the listings it doesn’t show that, and it glides open like a dream. One of the smoothest actions I have. I have serval Ganzo knives and they’re pretty good quality for the price. Tho gotta say Civivi is my favorite affordable brand.
*Entrance in to the Ganzo Firebird FH41 GAW is now closed. Congratulations to Jacen BarkOff.*
It was Jacen BarkOff.
I couldn't help myself, so I ordered this just yesterday. But good luck to all participating. I think it has an almost Civivi-ish look to it. Very good looking. Thanks for showing.
Well I hope you review it John. Interested to hear your opinion. Thanks for watching.
I don't like Spyderco knives I just don't like them
Gimmie that knife Jay.
I'm a new subscriber. A search for Ganzo's new knives brought me here and now I see the content is so appealing.
Welcome to the channel Seckin, it's very nice to meet you. Thanks for the sub and for watching.
I just received one of these from a friend and called up this video.. Pocket Clip "There is no lefty love"... yours must be different.. I just switched the clip to the left side.
You covered all the bases. Nice review. Gimme that knife Jay. I can see some possible mods in this knife’s future. Thanks Jay.
You hit the nail right on the head Steve, this would be the perfect candidate for mods. Thanks for watching.
This does look like one of their finest. Love that blade and all other features I look for (deep clip, blade length, jimping, simplistic G10 grip, decent weight). I'll have to get this and sand down that area you mentioned 3:42, if there's no steel liner underneath. Glad to see it's a good cutter. I'd name it Reeve. Gimmie that knife, Jay! Please.
Actually NCNinja, it looks like that area is thick enough for sanding, so no liner peeking through. I''m glad it's a good cutter too because of how much I like the looks of it. Thanks for watching.
Gimmie that knife, Jay! Good job getting this one so early :-) You may want to check for extra tapped screw holes in the show-side liner; the FH21 does have them, leaving a simple job for lefties to drill through the G10 and flip the clip...
I didn't even consider checking for screw holes, good call. Unfortunately, no holes. Thanks for watching NTSR.
Hey, Jay. Got mine today with carbon fiber inlay scales. It weighed in at 3.6 oz too. A little slick but that’s to be expected. Haven’t had much time to play with it but so far I’m definitely pleased! Good thing I’m a righty and carry tip up. The action is smooth and it falls shut with just one shake. Razor sharp, of course. It’s right up there with my FH51!
Very nice Jay, sounds like you got a good one and that action should hopefully get even better than it already is. I honestly thought the CF version would have a different weight. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it.
@@TheKnifeBeater To tell you the truth the action may be a bit better than my fh51. My only concern is the detent. It's light enough that the blade can flick open. Should I tighten the pivot?
I own one of these and with a little oil the action loosens up wonderfully. I am able to "throw" the blade open with force without flipping it, which is kinda awesome. I love this knife so much and for the price, I would basically tell everyone to just go buy one. I would be highly surprised if anyone has regrets after buying this :}
I agree Ryan, well said.
Great review, Jay. Now we know how much you like the FH-41. Eager to hear what you have to say about the new FH-91.
Thank you Daniel. Pretty soon because I've got an FH91 on it's way to me.
Another good on from Ganzo! Thanks for the great review and very cool of you to give back to the community!
Thank you Jody, but you are the king of GAW's. You of all people know the amount of extra work it takes to do these GAW's, but it's such a great feeling to giveaway stuff. Makes it all totally worth it.
@@TheKnifeBeater I dont know about "king" but I do love doing it....lol!
Is the giveaway US only or you can ship worldwide?
Either way. Gimmie that knife Jay.
I will ship to wherever the winner resides. Sorry, I probably should have mentioned that in the video. Thanks for watching sic22l.
Give me that knife jay
Thanks for watching Arivinte.
Gimme that knife Jay. Good looking knife. I’ve had good luck with screws on F753M1 and FH21. Enjoy your reviews.
I hear ya Mark. I have a few Ganzo's with good screws too. So, at least it's not every knife from them. Thanks for watching.
Cant wait for mine next Monday. I am loving the Fh51 it's the perfect small pointy EDC and looks amazing the G10 is beautiful.
That's awesome you got one on the way Troy, I think you will like it. I agree, Ganzo did a great job with the 51. Thanks for watching.
Sorry, I'm busy falling for the FH-61 my new EDC. Thanks for introducing me to Ganzo sir.
Gimmie that knife Jay.
I just recently discovered Ganzo knives. Gimme that knife Jay. Thank you. I would call it "Raptor".
Good name William. I was totally expecting a locksmith term, but then again, you would be the only one who understands the reference. Thanks for watching.
I've been thinking lately about maybe adding the FH41 or the FH51 to my cache of working knives. This one could be called the "Classic". Gimmie that knife, Jay.
I do love the FH41, but I think the FH51 would be a better work knife. The blade shape, the jimping, and the forward finger choil make it very useful. Thanks for watching David.
Thanks J!
Mine arrived today as well. John, at Power Cutlery, is fast, and gets them right out the door!
Always great service, from Power Cutlery.
: - )
I bought two. The Black, and CF. My CF has a detent that's really weak, but not my Black G10 model. It is very good, and near-snappy. I could throw it out, but only with EXTREME effort, and a near dislocated shoulder. The CF model, threw out much easier.
Both are very sharp (some blood has already been spilled:), and my quick measurements behind the edge. Are showing me 0.013"-0.019". I'm going the check them again tomorrow, under magnification. To see if that range shouldn't be tightened?
I really love 'em. Very well made, and as smooth as silk. The CF model arrived very clean, but the Black G10, was very dusty inside. With G10 dust, by the looks of it. Nothing really to complain about. I just blew it out quick, with a blowgun from my air compressor. It never was gritty feeling, in it's action. I just noticed it right away, when looking down into the sides of the blade, before I put a drop of oil on each side.
I am, so far. Putting this model, in the Top 3, of my Ganzo knives.
Oh, by the way. I did count them today, and have 28 Ganzo knives.
Yeah, John is great. He sends my stuff right away too. Thanks for watching Steve.
Gimmie that knife Jay! I absolutely love Ganzos and I hope it's fine to enter from germany? I've got the F7551, their cleaver in the carbon fiber version and it feels like the most premium of all of my knives. I just love handling it! I've never gotten to handle one of their FH series knives yet, but I'm curious about the D2 blades! Thanks in any case for the review AND the giveaway! :)
Of course you should be in the GAW PinkPummy. Sorry, I should have covered that in the video. I agree, Ganzo knows how to do a cleaver shape right. Thanks for watching.
Gimmie that knife Jay. I have the FH-21, it has the same clip as the FH-41, and the pocket clip broke the first week. Normally you would think the clip might break from being pulled outward, but in this case it was from side force. It snagged on, of all things, a plastic child gate. I was carrying something so my hands were up when the gate caught the clip on my pocket and snapped it before I even realized it was caught. It broke on both sides just above the mounting screws. It happened so quickly I thought I had broken something on the gate, but it was the broken piece of the clip laying on the floor.
That kinda stinks Green Wolf, sorry to hear. I know it's just a stamped steel clip, but you would think it might bend a little instead of snapping off. If there is a bright side to this, at least the screw holes were not damaged. Either way, still sucks it happened. Thanks for watching.

Ok, give me that knife Jay. Do you think it would be possible to put the G lock on one of these new flippers, really like them. Thanks, Harry
The G-lock would be amazing on this Harry. Unfortunately, I don't think it would work because of the width (not thickness) of each scale. Ganzo would almost have to get rid of the cut out (handle choil) for the index finger at the liner lock access point. Great idea though. Thanks for watching.
Give me that knife Jay.
Really liked the review on the 41. It is definitely more my size than the 51. I really like the look of it. If naming it I would say "Classic Cutter". That is exactly what I think of when I hear classic that drop point. Agree they should have made it a front finger choil. I don't get the whole oversized sharpening choil. Either do one or the other if going to make it large sharpening finish it and make it a finger choil.
Enjoyed the review. I hope to get one in the blue grey they do.
I agree, well said Rick. "Classic Cutter" is a very appropriate name for it. Thanks for watching.
Gimme that knife Jay. They could name it Sirrus.
Very interesting name Mark. I did a little research on it and I guess it is a character from the video game "Myst". Very cool. Thanks for watching.
...Gimmie that knife Jay. I would call it 'da Slicer'
Very good Joe. Thanks for watching.
Gimme that knife Jay. This is my favorite of the newer ganzo designs.
Me too Hal. Thanks for watching.
Gimmie that knife Jay! For some reason I think Cuda would be a good name for it :)
That is a good name HeavenWillBe. BTW, love your profile pic. Thanks for watching.
Gimmie that knife Jay
Looks like all of them have that weak detent. That's a shame must have been a manufacturing error
Even with the weak detent I still love this knife, but I agree Zachary, it is a shame. Thanks for watching.
Solid review, gimme that knife jay. Please
Thanks for watching ken.
I just got mine and i fuckin love it. Blade shape is hella nice. Things a scalpel.
It is a good looking blade. Nicest I've seen in a while. Glad to hear you got one Zachary. What color did you end up going with?

: Gimmie that knife Jay thanks 4 chance to win
You bet Ronnie. Thanks for watching.
Hi Jay, this is one beautiful knife. Ganzo does it again. You can’t beat it for the money.
Gimme that knife, Jay.😉 How is the action in comparison to the FH-11? That is the best budget knife action around, IMO.
I would say on my example, the action is worse than the FH11 Major. Then again, there is a slight variance with some Ganzo's, even within the same model. If you get a 41, yours might have better action than mine. Thanks for watching.
@@TheKnifeBeater Thank you, sir.
Give me that knife Jay! (Please)
Thanks for watching Efrain.
Gimmie that knife Jay...... I like the idea of a knife having it's own name instead of just the ID number. ... Ganzo Choppy Seas....!
I agree Lois. The "Choppy Seas", I like it. Thanks for watching.
@@TheKnifeBeater you know I'll be here every chance I get!!
I appreciate that Lois.
Gimmie that knife Jay
Thanks
You bet wrath. Thanks for watching.
At 3:50, when you mention the "second finger" choil ... if you look at the cut out to engage the liner lock, it doesn't line up with the flipper tab when the blade is deployed as it's recessed back in the handle a touch. The "second choil" is a cut away to align the contour of the flipper tab with the bottom of the handle. I see why Ganzo added that detail, but they prob could've left it and it would've been fine. I got my FH41 a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it, went with the blue scales for mine :)
I see exactly what you're talking about dm willms, it does make things line up nicely. Good eye, thanks for pointing that out. Thanks for watching.
You're welcome. I didn't event notice that cut away by the flipper until you pointed it out lol. Team effort :)
Can you recommend the FH41 over the FH11 ? I already got the FH11, but the bladeshape of the FH41 looks better to me.
Oh absolutely Peer X. The 41 is one of my all-time favorite Ganzo's.
@@TheKnifeBeater Thanks for your reply. I just ordered one.
@@TheKnifeBeater Can't wait to receive it. Price is about 25 euro's which is very cheap, when compared to the great brands. Already have some Ganzo knives; this one will not disappoint me either !
@The Knife Beater
I just received mine today. The flipper and the belt clip are more sturdy than on the FH11. I like this blade much more than the 11. Good quality knife ! Ganzo can really meet with the large names.
Gimmie that knife Jay. I'd name it the Caracal because we need more wild cat named knives. I was very happy to see nearly flush mount pocket clip screws. And my guess is that Ganzo will do like they did with the right hand only first generation FH knives and eventually bring it out in a ambi version.
That is a good name John. I believe Boker beat you to it though. I hope you're right about the ambidextrous version because that would be fantastic. Thanks for watching.
@@TheKnifeBeater Yeah it's hard to come up with original names these days isn't it.. LOL. And my FH-41 has made it to customs in NYC so fingers crossed I'll see it late this week.
Gimmie that knife Jay! :)
Thanks for watching Conor.
Gimmie that knife Jay!!
Thanks for watching achavis.
Gimme that knife Jay! You commented on the action a few times and I was wondering, how does the action compare to other Ganzos? Is that alright action par for the course or are other ganzo flippers better?
Excellent question Abd. Since these are production folders the fit and finish varies between knives of the same model. Your FH41 may very well have better action than mine. You can always open it up to adjust the lock bar which affects the detent pressure, but some (understandably so) don't want to mess with that for a brand new out of the box knife. I will say this, out of all my Ganzo knives, the FH21 had the best action out of the box. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
@@TheKnifeBeater Thank you for the great answer! From watching the videos it always seemed like the FH21 was a little snappier but I thought that was just me seeing things. Good to know for sure!

Gimmie that knife Jay! Was wondering which you liked best this or the FH11 or FH51? Thanks for the video, just subscribed and will be going thru your videos.
Welcome to the channel, it's very nice to meet you.I like the FH11 over the FH51 for a few reasons:
Blade shape
Overall size
How it rides in pocket
Hope this helps Jeff. Thanks for the sub and for watching.
@@TheKnifeBeater thanks for the reply, after watching your videos I ordered the FH11 last night.
Nice Jeff, I hope you like the FH11.

Great review Jay, I think I'd call it the bull dog idk why lol. Now gimmie that knife Jay!
The "Ganzo Bulldog" has a nice ring to it. Thanks Tom.
I really was wanting the 51 but it's so tiny. :(
I hear ya Bobby, the FH51 looks even smaller when it's next to the 41. Thanks for watching.
This one looks pretty damn sweet though. I'm still EDC'ing the fh21. I feel like that's gonna be hard to top.

Nice review, thx for your efforts! I would call this beauty "Ganzo Leaf". And... gimme that knife Jay! Greetings from Hungary!
Great name Rudolf, I like it. Thanks for watching.
Though I told myself I wouldn't be buyung any more folders this year, this
Ganzo Firebird model is a dream. Might just give away my much liked OSO Sweet, and to replace it with this Ganzo model. One flipper in my limited collection is just right.
Sergio, I give you credit for trying to keep the collection small. The only way I could even consider doing that, I would have to be locked in a room with no windows or social media of any kind and my meals passed to me on a tray under a door twice a day. Now that I think about it, having the Oso Sweet and the FH41 would make a very nice rotation of knives. Thanks for watching.

I would call it the Shamgoblin because it looks like a Bull Shamwari made babies with a Koenig Goblin.
Yes, it does look like a mix of those 2. Imagine the price of a knife like that. Thanks for watching Rob.
Gimme that knife, Jay! I'd call it the "Massdrop Gent 2.0" 😜
Now that you mention it, it does resemble the Gent. Good call. Thanks for watching Mon Garcia.

I agree Asphyxiate, it should have LH option. Thanks for watching.
Gimmie that knife Jay! :) actually this knife made me discover your channel, so that's already a point for this Ganzo!nice review, liked some small things, like the batteries to give a quick idea about the weight, that's cool! The things i like the most of this ganzo are the aesthetics (i immediately thought about the Laconico Keen but totally agree with you seeing that hint of Sebenza in the blade shape and linear handle) and the fact that it seems to be thin behind the edges.
Thank you very much Francesco, I appreciate that. Nice to meet you, I'm glad you found me. I agree, this shares a few similarities with the Keen and Sebenza. Thanks for watching.
Hi. Gimme that knife, Jay. Looks more my size than the fh51. Great review as always. Good health and stay safe
