Thanks to the fantastic Steve for the drone footage, and Chef Dean for his footage.
I shall henceforth refer to grocery shopping as 'provisioning' - closest I'll ever get to superyacht life! ❤
that's freaking brilliant lol
I am going to tell my wife, this is the ONLY way to refer to grocery shopping from now.
😂😂😂
Just a quick bit of info. I grew up in a Commonwealth country, and buying "provisions" is a normal term. After living in the US for many years, I switched to using the term groceries. Provisioning has become groceries for me. Nina's Aussie background may be a factor that term is used? FYI only.
I love that idea. I think I'll join you in that. Hope you don't mind 😊
As a Sous Chef it's crazy to see a Chef with this kind of consistent positive attitude. I'm sure she has her moments and days where she gets upset or angry but you can genuinely see how positive of a person she is. Must be a joy to work for.
Are you thinking of applying for the job?
I think even Gordon Ramsay would love her too
Nina, you should really do a cookbook. Crew recipes for every day cooking and guest recipes for special occasions. I would buy one.
Great idea. I would buy one too!
Count this my message as pre-order!!!
Yes please! I keep asking for one! We need to keep the pressure on. Consider this a preorder!!!
SAME
Yes please!!
After spending 3 months on our 36' sailboat in the Bahamas, we came into Nassau for a weather window and supplies before heading over to Eleuthera and Abacos. Imagine my ecstasy when a young woman knocked on our boat - she and her Captain husband were finishing up an owner's yacht cruise in Bahamas and heading to central America for their next gig and she had bags full of fresh produce just flown in from Palm Beach for their 4 day cruise with owner family she needed to clean out. OMG - I had not seen fresh veggies like sprouts and snow peas for months. We were the only boat continuing sailing while others in the marina were heading back to FLA. I took as much as I could handle stuffing the reefer and cooking the rest as we gloomed down on fresh veggies. Love you Chefs!
I'm hoping your channel keeps going while you're off the boat! Show us your travels and everything. Your energy and enthusiasm is electric!
Is Nina on vacation? Where is she going?
@@Pokingthebear999 she works ~8 weeks on, 8 weeks off. Pretty sure she explained how that works before 🤔
@@NM-yu3fcgod forbid somebody miss a video 🙄
@@NM-yu3fc First I've heard of it but thank you for the info
Nina you are unbelievable for everything you do. Can’t imagine shopping for everything you get.
Loved this video Nina!! Thank you for filling the fridges and keeping us all well-fed 🛥👩🍳🍴
Nina is a complete natural and vivacious presenter in front of the camera 🎥. I’m sure one day she’ll have her own culinary TV show when she puts up her sea legs. Great video.
Nina, is absolutely like no other. Others may do her job. But she will NEVER be replaced. She's a trooper. So deeply talented at not only her job but for bringing us along. Hope to see you soon, Nina. Be safe.
Just found your channel. Living in the middle of Canada, 2,500km from the Pacific and 3,000km from the Atlantic Oceans I get to live vicariously through your channel as you sail around the world cooking great food! 🍁
Me too! 🇨🇦
Me too
And same. Midland Ontario
Saskatchewan? Manitoba? 😂 maybe Ontario where you at? I’m Saskatoon live vicariously as well
Me Too!!!!!!
Nina, great video as ever. The amount of work, time and effort you put in is just off the scale. You are such a talented and organised chef. Thanks for taking the time for sharing it! Much ❤! 🙂😋😎😘
Brilliant Nina!
Thoroughly enjoyed!! 👍😀
Phenomenal work ethic and attitude of all the crew!!
Keep posting!
Nina you’re a star! What you do is awesome. My wife and I are OAPS and watching your organisational skills and energy is enough to make us need a lie down. Also the food you prepare for the crew and guests is fantastic. Hats off to you!💪
I live in Fort Lauderdale and know all the Asian markets and could not figure you what Mango Market was. It has been known as Food World for years and recently re-branded. That place is awesome. The best source for Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Asian food supplies under one roof. Love your channel.
Nina, absolutely love your videos and so excited when I see a new one pop up! I left my culinary career behind for medicine a decade ago and I still miss everything about it. Your videos, more than most, give me that fix. Keep up the amazing work!
Very nice video entertaining. Nina it was a blast watching you over the last Nine weeks and now enjoy your time off with hubby. I'm sure you will post videos of your TheCrewChef while home in Aussie. Catch you soon. Chef Dean is awesome to watch also.
Incase you were curious why she brought different colours of cutting boards, different colours mean different food groups. Kitchen prep 101.
Those are made of plastic, which is not so good though...
@@sonarsphereexactly what I wanted to say. They should have wooden cutting boards with coloured labels on them in some type of way
@@sonarsphere I worked in food industry for a short time. Food inspectors frown upon any wood in a commercial kitchen.
@@iris89936 wooden cutinggboard is hard to keep clean and safe.
@@iris89936 Wood is porous and harbors bacteria. Plastic is able to be sanitized and does not absorb, blood, and other liquids. Also wood warps and can't be subjected to the sanitizing temps of the commercial dish washer
Nina, you are an incredible human being. Great job with a lot of challenges. God Bless🐻🙏🇺🇸
Nina it was great to see your dedication to getting this all ready. We love your videos and look forward to you returning to LOON. Enjoy your break with your family hopefully you get to Aus.
Aww,Nina, will miss you! Awesome cook, great personality, lovely and having fun along with all ur hard work!
Nina;
Thank you so much for your RUclips channel.
I watch RUclips to learn things. And you do not disappoint.
You teach me about food that I am not familiar with, with preparation techniques, galley management and provisioning. I appreciate your interesting travelogs, your wedding, and brunch at your parents house.
In 2014, this Yank visited Sidney, Hobart, Perth, Campbelltown, Canberra and more. I found a beautiful country filled with beautiful people.
Wishing you and your husband all the joy that life can provide.
Thank you again for sharing.
your positivity is very infectious 😁 been struggling with negativity at work lately, trying to adopt a better outlook and your attitude is very inspirational
Just love hearing you talk. Your accent, and seeing apart of the world through your eyes. Very interesting and entertaining. Miss Tilly tho.
The amount of skill and talent it takes to do this job is amazing, truly talented individuals running these vessels and Nina is no exception.
Loved it, you are a genius! Hard to believe that you do provisioning alone, so organised.
Loved that white top you wore at hand over to Dean, that was nice! Special.
Nina, well done with that great provisioning haul. Dean, well done also. Love to watch these videos. Nina have a blast at home.
The best part of this channel......Every time a new video posts, I get that much time for this beauty to mess up my life!! 😊
You really show the not so glamorous parts of what it takes to run a kitchen. There’s so much more to cooking and baking, like planning, ordering, checking the order, unloading, loading…..and CLEANING!
I was happy the first thing you picked up was Vegemite. A true Australian
You are one hell of a worker, very well disciplined and neat. And you do love what you do. There will be much more success coming your way. Keep up with the good job!
Wow, just when you thought being a yacht chef was a hard job, that provisioning and storing looks tough. Thank you for sharing your journeys.
I would LOVE a video about how you keep things fresh for 2-3 weeks while underway. I can barely keep a banana fresh for 2-3 days!
Vacuum
Great video, Nina!! Thumbs up! Enjoy your time off!
Nina puts such a good effort into crew meals onboard.
Wholefoods and Publix... I love stocking the jet there... and getting some of the catering we need. Another one I love is Wegmans in the NE of the US, they are a bit of a cross between the amazing fresh stuff you find in Wholefoods, but they still sell the bad stuff too, so its a win-win! Thanks for another cracking video... enjoy your off-rotation time!
This video was a lot of fun to watch. Thank you Nina
👍✅🏝 Tks Nina & Dean, great video as always!
Love seeing both of my favorite chefs onboard at the same time. The culinary store is a chef's dream.
It's a brilliant store!
Love restock videos! You make it look so easy!
On this gloomy cloudy rainy day it's nice to see the positive energy and spirits in this video, thank you again Nina! You're amazing!
Very cool! Thanks for the tip on the Culinary Convenience store, I didn't even know it was there!
That facial expression in front of the knife display cracked me up. Never stop being you! And thanks for the video, it was great fun.
the music you use in these vids is so funky. I love it!
Nina & Dean are the best chefs on a yacht. And very personable I might add.
It’s always neat to see the hard work you put in!
Very nice, what a great team effort and respect 🎉👍👏🌟🐨
Great video loved seeing how much fun you had!
Great episode as always. I love the positivity and professionalism :)
I met Dean in Nassau, Bahamas on super bowl Sunday 3 years ago! the content is gold, keep up the good work!
Thank you Nina for showing me new places to shop in the Neighbor peaches at the supermarket is my absolute favorite. I love her. I always go through her line. Even if you’re in front of me with three buggies of groceries, I will wait for peaches
That drone time lapse shot of the yacht near the beginning was sweet.
The daisy flower/ fried egg crochet top thingy is so cool Nina!🎉😂
If I had your level of organisation I'd be dangerous! You're amazing 👏
Enjoy your break & safe travels!
You guys are a bright star on what appears to be a gloomy day. Nina and Crew Chefs rock!
That's so wild I stayed at that Hilton about 10 years ago next to the dock! Small world. Love the videos!
From the protective of a RUclips armchair viewer it looks that you did a fantastic rotation, ending in a great final with this brokers dinner. The dinner was not only reduced and straight forward, but therefore courageous in this environment.
Well done!
Love watching you - so tidy & organised, I couldn't live without being organised ! Thank you for the video Nina.
Another Great Vid, enjoy your time off Nina.
Great soundtrack, Nina!! 😊
Awe, switch over time already? I mean Dean is awesome too but you’re my fave of all he Loon Crew!! Hope you enjoy some very deserved time off!
Great show!!!
Thank you for answering my post about the music. I am a big fan also nice to see a Qeenslander doing good as i live in Cooly (code for where i live a Queensland girl will know) hope you don't mind but i watch what you cook the guests and have a bash at cooking it at home thanks again
Awesome adventures! Sending love from the United States
I never expected to see my company on your channel! I'm the buyer for household cleaning and laundry products for Publix Supermarkets.Thank you for showcasing one of our beautiful Ft. Lauderdale stores.
Love the camaraderie of the crew. Sound like ya'll would be awesome just to hang out with n chill.
Great video as always Nina!
When I was watching you mark up the items in the freezer/ storage I thought it could be a good idea to also color code the tape/ tag (on the shelf/ baskets). For example; 1 color for guest food and another for crew food (if it's important to separate them for financial reasons).
Also similar color code for special foods/ ingredients like gluten free etc, on items which near expiration (within 1 months) and other things which color code which can come inhandy with chef rotating and in a busy environment/ day. Just agree with Dean which colorcode the different things has to avoid confusion.
Just some idea that pop up when watching this video.
Enjoy your vacation and after that the Med season ❤
This is a great idea!
OMG I just transitioned from HVAC/R service tech to OS/Cook on a tugboat. I have provisioned 3 times now. Its super crazy-stressful-labor intensive. Two of the three times its been two mini van loads. Your an inspiration and love your channel.
Great work! Glad to have you in the galley side of things :)
I just sent my husband off to get "provisions" for our home and when we pulls up with all the bags I'm imagining similar vibes but we don't have any crew to help unload. 😂 It's always an adventure to fit everything in our fridge, freezer and pantry for the week.
Great Nina as I know your firstname now 🤣 Nice to follow your performances ! Great Dean
Such a great video!
Trolly! That’s funny! Love your channel!
Yo Dean! Good to see you guys together.
AARON!!!! Legend! Love from Chefs Life!!! See ya soon!
He's a total legend!
Oh Dean looking so calm and confident before the rough seas 😂🙈
You are so cute and your channel is so fun and entertaining thanks for all the hard work!
You are awesome lady. I`m older now, but early on in my life I did my ' mandatory' 7 years in food service and hospitality. Thats when you`re young with little experience, and its either buss tables or work in the coal mine. Food service was good to me because I learned a lot about food and food prep and I got a lot of free meals. LOL. Good luck out there.
Dean is an amazing chef 🤟
I love ur videos and I really wan to do what you do. Thx for the great content!
So cool to see where you docked in Fort Lauderdale. Would be great to stumble across you guys when we are in port to catch a cruise. Love the area and touring the Yacht stores. I usually stop into the International Market to check out what little things I may want to bring home as a home chef to elevate my plating.
Loved the video, it’s interesting to see what a behind the scenes is like for a chef.
I'm imagining Dean puling out the Tostitoes in the med, and making them a part of a nice dish where no one would guess where the chips were from....enjoying every morsel...
How exciting.
You all are appreciated.✌️
Love some Publix. Wish we could get one in Mississippi. Nina, I have friends that were bagging groceries (all paper bags) 40 years ago that have climbed the ladders and are now execs and high level managers.
Their subs in the deli have always been great.
❤ luv this channel
You make everything look easy...🎉
nina i saw you on the last loon vlog it's called man overboard because women are to smart to fell overboard 🤣love you're vlogs keep them going and enjoy you're time off 🥰
Your truly a great chef
Another great video!
I saw the Tajin spice on the belt and my mouth watered with the quickness.
Nina, I hope they pay you very well for all the work you put in!
Great job 🎉🎉🎉
Mango Tree? I haven't been there since it was called Food Town. I used to buy my curry there and sometimes fish. Once, while I was waiting for the guys to filet my fish, I laid my basket on a shelf next to me-- and the shelf moved! Turns out, that shelf was filled with live snakes, live frogs, and live eels. Scare the crap outta me! Another great episode. Thanks!
I saw that section! It's so cool in there
What an incredible way to see the world ❤
I don't know how you do it... awesome work!
great video love it
Hi,,You came to my town, so I went to the boat to see you, but unfortunately you weren't there, but I'll see you next time. 👋
Get the Provisions!!! Let's go Chef Nina!!! Cheers to all the Loonatics!
Edit: And welcome back Chef Dean!
In my travels I did a one-week stint on a 56' yacht from Bar Harbour to Long Island. I got to provision for the owners weekend first up, and spent so much money at Whole Foods. I've never bought so much crab meat! then once the owners went back to New York we just ate through what they hadn't touched. after hiking on the Appalachian Trail for 2 months and eating rice and beans most days, it was heavenly! nothing compared to your Loon provisioning though.
In Florida, it's a "shopping cart" 😊😊😉😉🙃🙃🙂🙂😂😂
many comments about this! I never knew haha
Honestly, I like trolly more because it reminds me of Harry Potter. 😂
I actually like seeing whats being shopped for!
