Thanks as always guys. Great Episode! I think Hutson just has such a good camp that he forces managements hand. Mailloux looks really close as well. I think Mailloux goes down to the A for half a season until Savard is traded. Can't wait for the season. 🔥

@Off_Grid_Gaming no no! Thank you for tuning in, for the feedback, and for the comment.
      We appreciate it.
That makes a lot of sense, too.
At the moment, given that Mailloux is an RHD, we would think that him making the team has more to do with Barron than Savard or maybe both.
Barron is a RHD and would have to go through waivers. Habs don't want to risk losing him for nothing. If Barron gets moved, then Mailloux automatically slots in as the 3rd pairing RD. Savard will likely be a TDL move, if they keep Barron, then we will likely see a 1-2-3 of Guhle Barron and Mailloux or Guhle, Mailloux, and Barron.
Again, thank you for the comment.

I have a feeling Montreal will surprise like the Devils in 2022. If Dach stays healthy, Laine and Caufield find their scoring touch again, Slaf and Suzuki continue their steady progression, and Anderson get back to its true 20/25 goal self, why not with how many 1 goal games we had last year. Especially with Hutson in the lineup. Despite Matteson last year, there was not another defenseman creating offense. Now we’ll have two pairs able to do just that! And, lets not sleep on Roy, he’s been underrated for years now and always produce.

A lot of "if's" there, but we love the idea and it sure feels like that could be the case. We will approach the season with optimism while understanding that their rebuild is not done yet.
Either way, if everyone remains healthy and it Hutson in the fold, we do not expect them to be a bottom 5 team anymore. Those days are behind them (we think lol)

Team is definitely going to be better this year.. 30 1 goal games last year .. now that we have laine and dach back .. high 80s for sure . But they need to stay healthy

      100%
staying healthy will be key. Especially with Dach. We haven't had enough of a sample size to see what he can do on a nightly basis. He has all of the tools and upside, but he hasn't been healthy since coming to Montreal.
We're freaking excited to get this going.

You don't need to be a hockey specialist, to see Hutson is ready for the NHL, he's too good for the AHL.

Don’t count Reinbacher out, he’s the most defence ready, and as far as Barron, he’ll be the 7th D….

Barron might end up being the default 3rd pairing RD. Especially if the Habs are considering trading him. They have to give him minutes and playing time to get his value up.
With that being said, Reinbacher is waiver exempt and can get more minutes in Laval. If he makes the club, then we fully expect a move to happen. If they send him to Laval and he is dominating (in his way), then we fully expect the call up just before or after the Christmas break.
