I am European (south) living in Canada...traveled to Brasil and like people and their expression and sincerity a lot! I never adjusted to Canadian way of life especially in social relations terms. I am teaching my kids (who are born here in Canada) about different cultures and values as they might move around the world once they get older. Brasil and brasilians are in my hearth forever!

I'm brazilian and I can confirm this. It's casual in a sense. As a men I'll get my hair and beard trimmered, gave myself THE bath and use a good perfum. But I'm not dressed like I'm going to the evening of my life. Just use nice clothes and go to a bar with a nice band playing, something good to drink and then talking, flirtting...that's the social norm in most cases. From our perspective let things more informal helps to build intimacy...and that's why we do that way...

I went to Brazil a few months ago and you would be amazed the amount of stares you get when you start speaking English out loud 😂 I’ve travelled to different parts of Brazil and I don’t think you can really generalise what preferences Brazilian women have. I’ve been told some like white blue eyed men and some like ‘morena’ brown eyed men etc. it’s all individual preference

In São Paulo the Gay dating and affection in the streets are super common, specially in the main turistic places, is almost overwhelming haha, like, Brazilians show more public affection in general, and a lot of gay guys do even more to show proudly theirs affection.. There's still some homofobic people that will not like, but they don't do anything about, at most keep looking and disapproving, but they are the minority, the majority have no problem.. São Paulo have the biggest Pride parade in the world, the city is really diverse and inclusive, a lot of things and parties for the LGBT community too..
Florianópolis is also an amazing city for the queer community! People are very chill and open minded. It's a must visit in Brazil for everybody! We call it "Island of Magic" ❤️
I would suggest the city of São Paulo, 'cause it's a cosmopolitan, diverse, multicultural and multiracial city. Also, it has the largest LGBTQIA+ parade in the world (5+ million people). According to the Grindr app, it's the best parade in the world. You will see a lot of LGBT couples in the streets of São Paulo. It's considered the best city for LGBT people in Latin America and the 35th in the world. The city also houses the Museum of Sexual Diversity, the first in Latin America related to the LGBT theme.

As a Brazilian, I don't understand this fixation that foreigners have in relation to Brazilians. I live in the country and honestly I don't see absolutely anything so special with the men and woman's here, they are very beautiful indeed, but extremely immature and marriages are so troubled that I'm impressed that there are still people who marry. Brazil is a world within a country, there is no way to standardize relationships with such a different people... from state to state the physical, economic, social characteristics change a lot, so the men of a region can be more extroverted or introverted (if you find an introvert is lucky!). remember anyone can be Brazilian , so stop thinking there is something special . where there is definitely not!

Young people today date for lost and sex! They don't date to find a woman for a man too have a serious relationship and commitment with... My generation 30 years ago you would take out a woman and sure you were interested in sex but you were trying to find the right woman to have a commitment with you weren't just trying to sleep around with as many women as possible and when you went out on a date you treated the woman really special you fix a really special location to entertain her you show her a good time.
I think its important to take a sociological approach when making contact with other cultures, in this context, the 'go with the flow' attitude of Brazilian men and woman raised in Brazil. Each human being is culturally conditioned, meaning that the Brazilian way of expressing romantic, sexual, casual interest, physical warmth/affection is not to be taken as a better model for social contact when compared to Japan lets say, or Britain, or Canadian, each are conditioned by their cultural values etcetera. and are therefore behaving in accordance to that culture, and unless we understand this most crucial fact about cultural conditioning we cannot entertain contact with foreigners. No one culture is a gold standard how to interact as a human being, some like and are used to lots of touching, and that is okay for their cultural values etcetera. My personal understanding is that dating is for the most part difficult because people project far too much of their own cultural expectations into the exchange, especially with foreigners. We as a species are for the most part equal, we all have a brain, a limbic system, we all have needs and we are all functionally selfish (survival). There are genetic differences like eye colour, skin pigment, height, hair colour etcetera. When it comes to disposition, and how we behave in situation that may differ, although not that much but there are some differences. I think it is good to bare in mind that people have complex nuances, and trying to socially categorise, stereotype an individual to save cognitive space, is both structural laziness, and anecdotal. Example, The term "Gringo" is a category ascribed to non-Latino, and may have attached stereotype's. This term may save cognitive space by thinking "Gringo are like this" but it is not scientific and perpetuates superstition, as well as, in and out group beliefs around other human beings termed "Gringo". As a species we cannot keep boxifying cultures because it may make it easier to get to know people, or make a quick inference instead of using our cognitive ability to think with more nuance (if we know how). Strange as it sounds, we actually have to get to know people, their culture, their language, their thinking, their feeling, and give that space to breathe, allow the nuances to come through, in all its imperfection, and avoid the cognitive temptation to categorise and stereotype because it save cognitive space. To end, becoming a species that understand sociology: social contact theory, attribution theory etcetera will go a long way in helping us gain further perspective on each other and make human interactions less synthetic.

This may sound weird but the first brazilians i met were blue eyed blond hair white dude with blue eyed blond haired white white. They were really pale. I am Indian and for longest time i had this assumption that all brazillians were blond haired blue eyed but than i researched and realised that Brazil is veryy diverse . So my question is why is the lady saying that she will throw herself to men with such looks because it's not really that rare I assume in Brazil?

My generation 30 years ago you would take out a woman and sure you were interested in sex but you were trying to find the right woman to have a commitment with you weren't just trying to sleep around with as many women as possible and when you went out on a date you treated the woman really special you fix a really special location to entertain her you show her a good time.

I think its important to take a sociological approach when making contact with other cultures, in this context, the 'go with the flow' attitude of Brazilian men and woman raised in Brazil. Each human being is culturally conditioned, meaning that the Brazilian way of expressing romantic, sexual, casual interest, physical warmth/affection is not to be taken as a better model for social contact when compared to Japan lets say, or Britain, or Canadian, each are conditioned by their cultural values etcetera. and are therefore behaving in accordance to that culture, and unless we understand this most crucial fact about cultural conditioning we cannot entertain contact with foreigners. No one culture is a gold standard how to interact as a human being, some like and are used to lots of touching, and that is okay for their cultural values etcetera.
My personal understanding is that dating is for the most part difficult because people project far too much of their own cultural expectations into the exchange, especially with foreigners. We as a species are for the most part equal, we all have a brain, a limbic system, we all have needs and we are all functionally selfish (survival). There are genetic differences like eye colour, skin pigment, height, hair colour etcetera. When it comes to disposition, and how we behave in situation that may differ, although not that much but there are some differences. I think it is good to bare in mind that people have complex nuances, and trying to socially categorise, stereotype an individual to save cognitive space, is both structural laziness, and anecdotal.
Example, The term "Gringo" is a category ascribed to non-Latino, and may have attached stereotype's. This term may save cognitive space by thinking "Gringo are like this" but it is not scientific and perpetuates superstition, as well as, in and out group beliefs around other human beings termed "Gringo". As a species we cannot keep boxifying cultures because it may make it easier to get to know people, or make a quick inference instead of using our cognitive ability to think with more nuance (if we know how). Strange as it sounds, we actually have to get to know people, their culture, their language, their thinking, their feeling, and give that space to breathe, allow the nuances to come through, in all its imperfection, and avoid the cognitive temptation to categorise and stereotype because it save cognitive space. To end, becoming a species that understand sociology: social contact theory, attribution theory etcetera will go a long way in helping us gain further perspective on each other and make human interactions less synthetic.
