Those figures look about one thousand times better than I ever would have guessed. I would have loved those when I was a kid even if I had no idea who Gamera was.
Yeah, this toy line is so much as "not on the radar" for Kaiju fans, as opposed to just damn near impossible to find. I was never able to locate them. I find it strange that Barugon was not in the line with the other monsters, just like in the new anime show. Justice for Barugon. I do like the redesigns for the other monsters though.

As friend to children everywhere, Gamera most protect that child from the enemy monster.
Love these guys so much! I’ve definitely warmed up to Gamera and his series over time and have come to appreciate the series a lot. These are awesome, give it take the wonky missiles. Would’ve loved to see a silver space Gyaos at some point! And of course Legion and Iris.

Yeah, I really wish Barugon would stop getting shafted like this. Maybe if we get a Season 2 of Rebirth we'll see a redesigned Barugon that relies more on elemental/energy based attacks, whereas Rebirth Jiger had all of his removed, to help differentiate the two more.
Man, this makes me wish even more that Trendmasters did an Ultraman line... if only Towards The Future found success, perhaps that proposed second season would have brought toys of the Ultra Brothers!
Do you mean the toyline or the show? Because "Towards the Future" was a massive success for Tsuburaya. In fact, it was their first hit since the 70s (I think the 1984 "Ultraman Zoffy" movie did pretty well too)! It didn't take off right away, but it became a huge success for them over the span of about two years. Trendmasters employees really do a lot of amazing things when it comes to monster designs for the toys before shipping them to markets , I appreciate the Gamera figures a lot because of their unique appearance & shown potential , if these are what the heisei incarnations of Gamera foes would have been including barugon , as including Kaiju such as Nezura , garasharp & geboras , then Gamera 4 , in a alternate reality , would have been a real film if bankruptcy didn’t came to daiei & gain story plot similar to Godzilla final wars & could have included all the Kaiju instead of the gyaos swarm & a original Kaiju for that film as a final foe for Gamera as noted by a small glance of a cyborg next to viras

It’s truly hard to tell when this line dropped. The license was acquired in the mid 90s (~96) but the most solid clues are pointing to them not hitting stores until early 2000
Funny that this toyline has the same roster of kaiju as the new Gamera: Rebirth anime. And I would like MIB to review at least some of the Gamera video games in the near future, hint hint.
Hey M.I.B random question : I play a card dice wrestling game and I’m just wondering if you had a trios team a three man tag team what would you call them . Just monster island buddies or monster force .
Since you’re practically an expert on Godzilla toys, I have some questions: 1: I saw the old ad for some of the Godzilla finger puppets, but two characters stood out: a spiky lizard like creature, with most of its body and one eye being robotic, and a silver Mothra lookin thing. Do you know who they are? The other question is about some little Godzilla figures from Bandai. All I know is their bodies are cubes, while their arms, legs, tails, and heads aren’t. I’ve also only seen Kiryu, a green Godzilla, and a Godzilla skeleton. Do you know any of these?
I actually own a few of these. I have the sound versions of Zigra and Jiger and the non sound versions of Gamera and Viras. I've had them since the early 2000s. The Zigra and Jiger figures have the same roar as each other only at different pitches. I think Trendmasters may have cut a few corners with this line.
Wait a minute I just realized something. The Gamera Rebirth features Showa era monsters but Elmo Barugon. This trendmaster toy line features the Showa era monsters but again no Barugon. What is it they have against Barugon? He’s one of my favorites in the era.

The first one was at least
Google is telling me this line came out in 1998, so the first two would have been released and they would've been in the middle of shooting the 3rd (it took two years to make!).
It’s truly hard to tell when this line dropped. The license was acquired in the mid 90s (~96) but the most solid clues are pointing to them not hitting stores until early 2000
Trendmasters was definitely trying to catch lightning in a bottle with Gamera. Considering Gamera was originally made to compete with Godzilla.
Funny that this toyline has the same roster of kaiju as the new Gamera: Rebirth anime.
And I would like MIB to review at least some of the Gamera video games in the near future, hint hint.
Been working on it. Doing something very very special for gamera 2000
I just realized that a year ago I saw gyaos at a thrift store and didn't pick him up because I didn't know much about gamera at the time
It haunts me
This makes me want to watch the gamera movies
Never saw these figures as a kid. Would have liked to have gotten Gamera and the shark.
Hey M.I.B random question :
I play a card dice wrestling game and I’m just wondering if you had a trios team a three man tag team what would you call them .
Just monster island buddies or monster force .
Excellent job 👍👏💯
Speaking of training cards, you ever going to make a video about those? .
Great video by the way 👍
Yea!
