    I went with Sitka Gear last year and I'll never looked back. I have the Equinox jacket and pants, Fanatic set, Merino wool gloves and face mask. I also have the crew neck T shirt and a grinder hoodie for layering. I still use under armour as a thermal layer but at some point I'm going to get the Sitka mid weight base later. Good luck this season

      First lite makes fantastic merino base layers, too. I typically just use patagonia capeline air and midweight or smartwool. Pretty hard to beat them.

    I have the midi i do like that coat i like stratus hat as well no thicker than it is does the job thiink if you can layer for warmth then stratus over top to keep wind off would be more than good enough and it would cover more temp ranges

    Nice video dude. I just bought uh... stratus Jacket and bibs, fanatic gloves, neck gaitor, and I picked up subalpine light weight t shirt and hoodie. And I just ordered the midi jacket! Never had good hunting gear so I hope it works well I'm sure it will. I need to get the heavy weight tops and bottoms and the fanatic hoody! Then I'll work on getting pants hah

    I would like to ask after watching your video. How much money do you have invested in all that gear?

  • @jc51373

    Do you think that tool bucket bag would hold a 24 inch AR style folding stock PCP air rifle, canted inside? Sitka doesn't provide a depth spec on their website. I like the ease of use of that bag, but want it to fit my smaller air rifle.

    I’m saving up now to swap over to Sitka this year. Have you wore the fanatic bibs and jacket with the saddle yet. If so how did it work

    • @akernoutdoors9282
      @akernoutdoors9282  3 года назад

      It worked great just need to make sure your saddle has plenty of room because it will be snug in the fanatic if you don’t have any wiggle room in normal clothes. Look into Badlands clothing also. I’m liking they’re pattern a lot here lately and really am liking their warranty. Look at the Pyre set in comparison to the Fanatic. Just as warm or warmer actually and waterproof too

    That tool bucket thing, the sitka backpack. Does it have a good system to strap clothing on the outside of it? Or do you just use bungees or something.

    • @akernoutdoors9282

      Hootie it has several straps on it. I lash climbing sticks, clothes, tripods, camera arms and all kinds of stuff to it through the season. It’s a really versatile bag

      @@akernoutdoors9282 awesome that's what I needed to know. I'm trying to decide between the stratus or fanatic set, and I'm starting to think I just need both lol but can afford both this year. I hunt in ND where it gets brutally cold, treestand hunting I definitely need fanatic but lately I've been doing a lot of hiking around spot and stalk hunts where I think the stratus would be the better option.

      Chris 09 yes. I haul several cameras, extra clothes , filming gear, bow holders, arms, fluid head, sometimes strap lone wolf sticks and a saddle platform to it. It’s a workhorse

      It's definitely expensive, But there is nothing else like it. I've invested a chunk of money into it, But I am always excited about every dollar I spend. I feel like they know what they have made, we know what we are buying; it's properly priced. Sure it would be fantastic if it was cheaper, But I'm just elated someone is making this stuff. I imagine everyone will say it's overpriced , until they try the stuff on and head into the woods.
