- These pitchers refuse to exit the game no matter what! Whether they’re hit in the head by a liner or whether they just convince the manager to back off they won’t quit!

Keep grinding
Delete your stupid ass outro with that shit music
Show them getting the last out or what happens next
Lackey just doesn't want to go. He can get hit in the head and still be like "This is my guy! Let me stay."
Like even when facing babe ruth "tHIs iS MY gUy"
He ended up walking Holliday to load the bases, though. Junichi Tazawathen came on in relief to get the final out of the inning.
Ironic that the next video after the lackey one is Lewis getting hit in the head lmao
*breaks both of his arms*
IM FINE I CAN STILL PITCH!
Big Bozz Curry TIS BUT A SCRATCH
metalman5 damn if I was gonna say that
metalman5 ‘‘tis but a flesh wound.
Lmao MEEE
Literally me!! Hahaha I would be having the worst pain ever and I’d still pitch
I dont think managers should ever let pitchers continue the game after getting clocked in the head. Concusions, internal bleeding or brain trauma are not a joke.
Non sense, the skull is natures helmet...
The chances of concussion, internal bleeding, or brain trauma if they did not lose conciseness are very low. Concussions are usually the least traumatic of those three and most times people lose conciseness. If the player does not feel hurt, or have a headache they re most likely fine.
@@tomanderson9978 still should be taken out of the game if they got hit in the head hard.
being a softball pitcher, it should be the pitchers call, yes there are some points that they don't have a choice but if they know theyre fine then its all good. but getting hit in the head is a hard call because there are many things that can go wrong
Rino Zisa understand sports ok. Maybe they’re not baby’s like you
You needed Matt Harvey in the 2015 World Series begging Collins to let him stay in the game
And we all know how that worked out
@Kris Smith just pointing out that it didn't work. Not sure if all of these ended badly or what exactly happened
Fax
@@paulduhamel5050 it'd set the stage for Eric Hosmer's iconic mad dash home, and the rest is history
i expected that to be here yeah
Do John Lackey's most heated/funny moments, he has so many
John Lackey is a true Texan
Throwing behind Kinsler for one
When i saw the title first thought of mind is Matt Harvey in 2015 WS
As a mets fan it still hurts to this day...
As a Royals fan I feel great about it😂. Why would he stay in? He threw the game away literally.
@@nicholasbowen1825 Yea it still hurts that the giant moron Terry "Baseball Cancer" Collins jinxed him like that and ruined Harvey's psyche.
@@kaedden19 Facts
@@nicholasbowen1825 Was really pulling for the Mets man. One could argue that Collins even trying to pull him is what brought him out of his zone.
I feel like even when he’s happy, John Lackey looks like a crazed psychopath 😂😂😂
Manager: Go out there and tell Lackey he's done.
Pitching coach: umm...YOU tell him!
Manager: Ugh. Fine.
Staying in the game is admirable. But, I don't think we should idolize brushing off a hit to the head. Serious damage to the head isn't tied to physical pain. The pain often comes later. The difficult choice is not choosing to continue to play, but choosing not to continue to play when you feel fine.
I admire a pitcher who wants to stay in the game after some sort of injury.
Not the safe move, though...that Ranger who got hit in the back of the head, you gotta get out of the game and make sure your head is OK....that could have killed him easily. Concussion, hematoma, skull fracture...any of those could have happened.
J O H N N Y 77 me too
K Manitou that's because you're a pussy. I'm sure your favorite sport is soccer. Or maybe tennis.
@@pandapablodoe1711 why though? For caring about themselves and avoiding further injuries? Your kind of "fans" are the worst.
“that’s why you say you’ve never seen- that something- that y- that you say, you can never say you’ve seen it all.”
wow.. touching
wheres curt schilling? how do you miss curt schilling in this list?
Seriously, Curt pretty much embodies this. 2001 WS, his coach with the mustache ask him if he has the gas to go back out for the eighth inning. Schilling of course says that he does, and his coach says that he has the closer, Byun-Yung Kim locked and loaded for the last 6 outs. Schilling begs to be left in, he is rebuffed, and Kim blows the game.
MJ 47 how so?
Uploader probably doesn't know who Curt Schilling is.
MJ 47 yeah, no, you're just incorrect.
MJ 47 How
Wesley, I've been a fan of this channel since it had less than a thousand subscribers. I think that this video has merit, and I think that it is entertaining. However, I think a lot of us really want to see moments were pitchers beg to stay in the game because they want to finish it because they are such competitors. When I clicked on this video I was really excited to see Matt Harvey in 2015, and Curt Schilling in 2001 both in the World Series. In both cases the players begged to stay in a game, and with different results. Both were incredibly talented at the time and them asking stay in the game was a career-defining moment.
This video was surprisingly short, and featured many injuries. I think you should do a whole nother video whetr pitchers want to stay in the game because they are such competitors. And I think you should take a bit more time on it.
Your friend and supporter - VenomousStare
If that's what you want to see then why don't you make the video yourself?
Monty R That's always a lame rebuttal. It's just a suggestion, this guy wants more people to see/know what he does, but he doesn't have the established audience for the vid to reach anyone. Not trying to be a dick, but that's how I see it.
Willow Edwards Like I said to the Monty R guy; that's always a lame rebuttal. It's just a suggestion. This guy wants more people to see/know what he does, but he (likely) doesn't have the means to make his own video, and he especially doesn't have the established audience for the vid to reach anyone. Not trying to be a dick, but that's how it is
Willow Edwards idk if it was critical as much as it was a suggestion. He didn't say the guy did a bad job, it almost seems like constructive criticism. It's just a suggestion. Like asking a gaming RUclips to try a game that you like or something.
Wesley you do such a good job at getting intricate, ornate footage
Thanks
Wish you’d show how they went on to fair against the next batter
D Rodriguez Lackey threw a wild pitch, then walked Holliday. Sox brought in a reliever and he closed the inning with a groundout on the next batter.
He ended up walking Holliday to load the bases. Junichi Tazawathen came on in relief to get the final out of the inning
Really good compilation. Well-earned subscription
This is my guy
Should do a montage of catchers throwing out baserunners and or pickoffs u got alot I enjoy your videos I should just subscribe since I end up back on yours all the time lol
Hit the notification bell!
So Wilson Contreras compilation
Then they give up a home run
*_"This is MY GUY!!"_*
As a Sox fan, I never liked John Lackey much. But that night, at that moment, he had so much confidence in himself, and John Farrell saw it. So he left him in, and Lackey got him out, as promised.
You really gotta respect any pitcher who, during a big moment, in the World Series of all games, is exhausted and the coach wants to take him out... but he promises he will get this one last guy.
That takes a lot of balls to do. I don't care who you are.
Red or white
Lackey actually walked Holliday and was taken out, but Tazawa got the out.
if you've ever done this as a pitcher u know the determination it can take when u got an injury, or if ur in a tough inning and the coach tries taking u and u convince him not too, that pressure on u cuz then u HAVE to be lights out
You forgot Mussina telling Torre to stay in the dugout
That was funny.
Torre was like "Alright alright easy"
That Red Sox pitcher when he said this is my guy he hits him 😂
keep it up with the vids Wesley!
Great video as usually
They get paid millions to play, and when they finish their job, they decide to continue. Unlike soccer players who fake injuries so they could get benched.
Futuwa One And Only I don’t think that’s how that works chief
@@brendtbilleck9855 i get that soccer players fake injuries or hits to get cards, but still that's lack of sportsmanship and is playing the game in a way which is not intended.
Futuwa One And Only that’s fair enough
Futuwa One And Only agreed...but baseball players aren’t running miles per game either...you tend to get spent doing that much running
soccer plays? cmon man soccer is the weakest sport. i rather watch golf than soccer.
*Dies*
THIS IS MY GUY
L
You need to show what happens afterwards... how many times were the pitchers wrong vs. right.
He walked Matt Holliday to load the bases and then was yanked.
2:54 that is terrifying
Loved the video. As a pitcher you have so many critics, haters, and stressful things to worry about in games. Admire how many pitchers keep pitching after wear and tear and how many of them power through hits to the head.
i’m in this video! right after lackey talks to farrell the camera pan out from the crowd. my dads in the black shirt net to me with the red jersey towards the bottom
Lackey was such a gamer. That game six performance was very clutch
One of my little league teammates, Ryker, was whining and cavetching to his teammates about how his pinky finger hurt. I kept trying to bring it up to coach - mostly because I wanted to pitch and this kid was throwing everything in the dirt anyway - but the coach kept absolutely refusing to take him out when he had no other kids with innings left BUT me. Everybody else had pitched, we were about to get ten runned 10-2 in the bottom of the 5th, and coach still wouldn't pitch me over this kid who was a year younger than me.
I am 25, I was 10 back then (other kid was 9) and I am salty about it to this day. The other kid wasn't even the coach's son or anything. He was a random nobody who complained "my pinky hurts" every fucking ten seconds in the dugout, yet still was allowed to pitch 3 innings and got us ten-runned 12-2. GREAT JOB, COACH! REAL FUCKIN' GOOD SITUATIONAL AWARENESS YOU HAD THERE!
I went on to pitch the very next season and struck out the side three times as a 6th inning closer. Got my team to the district championship game before I ran out of innings. Take that ya PUNKS! -,-
I know there's no footage but Juan Marichal wanting to stay in a game in the early 60's. 42 year old Warren Spahn was pitching for the Braves, and he was matching Marichal pitch for pitch. The Giants won 1-0 in 16 innings.
Met Spahnie. You are exactly right. That guy was tough. And a great guy. And I loved Juan in his prime!
Hey...they are wanting to finish their job just like us! 😉
1:49 Odor looks like a baby
Lackey could be a pill...
But dammit..the guy's a gamer.
Rougie made a helluva catch!
One that could have been added was Max against Baltimore with Machado coming up going to his coach 'I got him, I fucking got him'.
This is so awesome. Applause to the managers who believed in their pitchers!
4:13 I was at that game I was hoping he wasn’t going to be out for the year and was amazed he stayed in the game
Blake Snell should’ve done this last night
Oh Lackey. Then you walked him lol
Lackey a fuckin savage. One of my favorite pitchers ever
Whats up man! Keep the videos up remeber don't forget about us little ones when you go big. Love the storm vids as well
I won’t change. I’ll always interact as much as i can
Ok, so I was a heavy hitter... in coach pitch Little League... back in the day. My Dad dropped me at practice one day, and the coach asked him to fill in and pitch to the batters. When I came up to bat, I hit a line drive... onto his right foot, injuring and breaking his little toe. Not a pretty sight. My Dad did not continue to pitch... and I never saw him volunteer for another practice. I hit 3 home runs out of the park that year, held a batting average well above 0.400 ... but I never lived down breaking my Dad's toe.
Gotta love the commitment wanting to stay in after getting hit in the head
Missed Mussina telling Torre to sit down as he started walking towards the mound
True respect for lackey..and this is coming from a Yankee fan.. respect the game
Good stuff Wesley APEX!!!!!!
I had a guy at my school get hit in the head exactly like the pitcher, but unfortunately, this was middle school, the kid was small, and the baseball gave him brain hemorrhaging and he later died in the hospital. I wish I was joking.
Damn, when was that?
@@wazzbot547 when I was in seventh grade, so about 5-6 years ago.Apparently from the story I was told, he got hit right in the back of the head, fell down, got up and said "I'm alright" and then collapsed. If you wish to look up the story look up "alex newsome star news". They now hold an annual food drive in his honor.
Edit: it's been 5 years not five to six.
2:54 What. The. HELL?!
Colby Lewis is a boss
What Blake Snell should’ve done.
Damn. Always knew Black was a tough guy.
I can only wonder how much brain cells you Lose if the ball hits your head
Dude, you must have lost your fair share of brain cells to fuck up count and non-count nouns like that.
Brain cells: cells is plural, so you should use many
A non-count noun like water or blood is not, and cannot be plural, so you should therefore use much
Yeah that shit hurts I know ! It takes a lot to stay in after being hit that fast
Lackey ain't no slackey.
“He should’ve gotten on the mound and faced second”
they just want to play ball
I took a grounder to the face a few years back....I still wanted to play! One of the ladies in the stands was a nurse and said no you need to go to the hospital! I got restitched and went back to playing ball! The other teams came up and said your fucking hard core man. I'd honestly wanted to just say if i didnt get back on the field I'd be scared of the ball forever!
I admire pitchers who try to push themselves to get through the rest of the inning despite being injured or fatigued
Great video
Do home runs that bounced off of a glove/player before going out.
Diagur lol we know the number one guy for that is
Canseco
I admire throwback pictures who can throw 7-8-9 innings and or full game. I know most it's not their decision and that's sad. We need more Hogs like CC Sabathia.
Verlnader, sale, scherzer. The last ones really
I just became a fan of hatebreed because of you lol 😂🔥
Incredible
imagine how intimidating that is to the hitter
too bad snell didn’t do this
You could make a video with this topic that’s just Max Scherzer
Watch part 2!
Lackey is my favorite competitor. Honest to god.
Lackey is awesome. hes the kind of guy you want in the trenches with you.
What I learned. If you get into a fight with Lewis, don't punch him in the head.
cant forget Curt Schilling's bloody sock lol
0:42 was a heads up play
2:55 I'd be more impressed if he struck out that 2-2 batter. Umpire might call BS for foreign substance "bloodball" though.
Nice edit
A couple of observations:
Re: the first clip (with Lackey)... I swear Lackey looks much better *WITH* a beard and mustache than without one.
Re: the second clip (Astros/Rockies)... I swear they are playing 'Suicide is Painless', the theme song to M*A*S*H at 1:07 (-ish).
I knew I got this sosh would be on here
Lewis has rocks in his head....
Where's the Bloody Sock of 2004???
If someone gets hit in the head by a baseball traveling 100mph, they should be removed immediately and undergo a CT scan. The mortality rate for a sub epidural hematoma is 50-90%. Why would any team with the capability take a chance on someone’s health?
Now use real words and explain
I don't understand smart
"epidural" is a particular area between the brain and the skull. It can also mean the space around the spinal column.
"Sub" means "under" or "below."
"Hematoma" means "bleeding."
So "sub epidural hematoma" literally means "bleeding in the skull."
@@Nihilianth thanks
I understood this clearly and I agree with u
So I pitched for SDSU and The same exact thing happened where one of our pictures got nailed in the back side of the head popped up and our 2nd baseman caught it... he finished the inning... Sat down next to me and about 2 minutes later couldn't remember where he was or what he was doing he had a fractured skull with and ternal hemorrhaging... Pretty much ended his career
That’s why that boy John lackey has 3 rings
How about Jack Morris in 1991 WS?
I just watch a video of a pitcher being taking out of the game after 8 innings of no hit ball. This HAS to stop!
That second clip was such a weird play. How about that catch by Odor lol
so what exactly happen to Bauer? did he dislocate a finger joint? or did he tear it during a previous play?
Where’s Max Scherzer yelling at Dusty Baker “I want the fucking ball!”?
Fastest decisions
You should do Adam Dunn hitting Home Runs
John lackey is a stubborn son of a gun, but I would be too.
What about...
Quitters that won’t pitch? I doubt that ever happened, but it’d be funny nonetheless.
Yes
Trevor Bauer is a fucking god
4:30 That would be hilarious!
nigga what
Ok the count is 2-2, here's the delivery. -Blood ball down and away ball 3...
