When visiting Philippines. You could try rarest and tasty cuisines 1) Relyenong Bangus/ Stuffed milkfish - in Philippines its common but in other asian countries its difficult to find because it difficult to prepare deboning of fish is the most challenging part but its really tasty. Raisins and green peas and shredded carrots compliments its ground fish meat. Could be eaten with ketchup also as dip 2) Putobumbong - its a purple rice cake usually being eaten at night after church masses. Usually common when Christmas is near. Around November to January its being sold. Best experience if you have hot beverage like cacao, chocolate, tea or coffee. 3) Lechon - can be pork or chicken. Both are good 4) Bagnet - crispier version of liempo, Ilocos province is best at it. You could try longganisang vigan also if so happen visited Ilocos. 5) Pancit Chami - A noodle made of miki noodles. It has veggies, pork/beef meat and broth. Its gives a savory sweet and spicy taste. One of the most delicious pancit kind in Philippines. Commonly seen in the province like Batangas or Quezon province 6) Cassava cake 7) Buko pie
As a Filipino living abroad who loves Korean food so much, this is so heartwarming to see Koreans enjoying Filipino food. 🧡 Makes me miss all the yummy food back in Phil. Can’t wait to go back to visit and eat everything 😂
I love how he especially mentioned the philippine soy sauce....this is my first time watching a food review mentioning about our soy sauce.....that made him a legit filipino food lover.
the barbecued pork belly is marinated in citrus that is unique to southeast asia called calamansi-in the philippines specifically. that is why our pork tastes unique and is at another level.
Filipino food is like a fusion of Spanish cuisine and Asian Cuisines. We love putting spices to our dish. To make a liempo tender, we let it boil with onion, garlic, pepper, laurel leaves and salt.
Its not authentic filipino dish if theres Spanish cuisine, chinese cuisine. Leche flan, lechon did not originate from Philippines, lumpia, pancit, soy sauce, fish sauce are not from Philippines. True authentic filipino food are “Tribal Food” Adobong puti, sisig, dinakdakan, Bagnet, Kilawin, tinolang papaya, sinigang, adobong pusit, pakbet, inihaw, ube halaya, suman, bibingka, puto. Stop gratifying the fusion cuisine cuz its not authentic Filipino food.
wow 😮 as a Filipino I'm so HUMBLED!!! Btw about the holding of the spoon, believe me, not all Filipinos hold it that way! And we eat almost everything with rice, just saying 😊
Try to imagine the waves of the sea hittin the shore, and you are in an area with trees that covers you from the sun while eating these foods in a banana leaves, Seeing the other people who didn't know each other swimming, laughing, walking, and talking to each other about their experiences in traveling in other places makes me smile. I need that beer for my liempo with Mang Thomas.
it is usually salty because of the love for rice.. because if its less salty the rice wouldnt complement it.. thats also the reason why thres always calamansi on the side so it balances the salty taste or the fatty ones
The best inihaw (grilled) liempo is actually the simplest one: salt and pepper only. No marinade. Then dipped in a soy sauce-vinegar-garlic-onion-chili- salt-sugar mixture. Another but different good dip option mainly used up north is the fish anchovy sauce-tomatoes-shallots. Heaven! And you haven't tried the green mango juice or the lechon sisig yet!
Hmm I'd say cooking grilled liempo could be different depending which region of the country you're from. I grew up having grilled liempo marinated in either fish sauce and black pepper or in dark soy sauce, calamansi juice, seven-up, brown sugar then dip in soy sauce, calamansi with red chillies.
Yes, that's how my father ( + ) used to grill pork liempo, and he only cooks it this way when the meat is fresh - i.e., from freshly-slaughtered pig. The flavor is simply intense, and the combination of simple ingredients (pork, salt, dipping vinegar with some garlic and onion) makes me feel I am eating unadulterated dish handed down by my Filipino ancestors.😂😁❤️
I genuinely enjoyed this video!! And I truly appreciate your love with Philippines’ food, people & culture! Thank you & more success on your channel! 😊🫶🏻
13:38 We don't hold our spoon and fork like that when eating. Maybe some Pinoys do. But in school they taught us the proper way of holding our spoon and fork, no pinky finger at the end of the handle, and your elbows are always near your side, not all over the place. The way you hold your spoon and fork is the normal proper way.
@Chris REVELS I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it.. the mixed taste of sourness, saltiness, and sweetness in one.. it's mouthwatering... and you can also try bicol Express if you're into spicy food..🍽🍴
Filipino here from the US. This brings me so much joy watching y'all enjoy our food. You ordered the perfect drinking food combination right there. Sisig's taste is unique. The combination the fat, the citrus and the saltiness makes it memorable. Thank you for making this video.
I am from Cebu and I thank you for loving our food😊. Hope you will comeback here and see you, and treat you more Philippines Cebuano foods and delicacies 🎉
As a Filipino we like to see both of you enjoying our Filipino food.hope one day u can try visit to Philippines Thier Soo many things to see and to know about philippines.not just food but also the country culture..
I think they have a more authentic one somewhere at the famous big catholic church (can’t remember the place, but Sandara ate there). Apparently that long stretch of tents with food stalls (like karinderya style) is really for Filipinos (and so the taste is not localized) who live or/and works there and go to that nearby church and it took awhile for the Korean government to allow them to do that.
So, this restaurant Jovy's is in that neighbourhood. But I've been to the market you are talking about. If it's still there, I'm not sure that it's year round. Also, I went a loooong time ago, so what I'm really trying to say is.... uh I don't know haha
hyewha filipino market is there every sunday...there's a lot of people though if you go there after the mass so better go there earlier than 12pm just before the 1:30pm tagalog mass.
Next time try sinigang, either pork, shrimp or bangus(milk fish). Also bulalo, sinigang is sour soup and bulalo is beef soup. Perfect as hangover foods.
You guys, are really awesome! Loving our Filipino foods and seeing you both looks fully satisfied with all those yummy dishes makes me proud to say only in the Philippines! Watching you guys from Canada! I miss my beloved Philippines! God bless you!
I saw a video saying one place has the yummiest pancit.. Alice Restaurant in Pyeongtaek. It's awesome that there are a lot of Filipino restaurants in Korea now. I saw another video where the owner/chef is Korean but serves Filipino food because he lived in the Philippines and learned how to cook them.

Awww thank you for loving us we love you guys too.. thank you for such kind words.❤️✌️🍾🥂🍾🇵🇭
Good you love our food! Sending love from LA!!!
The reason why you won't find that distinct inihaw na liempo taste elsewhere is bec of the smoke flavor of the charcoal we use in the Philippines.
Filipino original fried rice with garlic you sauté it with garlic and Season with salt
I salute you both for being adventurerous. Trying different delecasies.. and most of all,. Thank you for loving our food...

For the barbeque we eat that with banana ketch up

All Filipino food are meant to be eaten with rice as the dishes itself is salty so rice will balance it ou
Yeah 😂 unless its soup dishes
U mean savory not salty
exactly.
Lol if true, that's better than a mountain of spices which is far more sodium than salt
