I actually wrote an entire article about this for a journalism project. Apple’s corporate email never forwarded me to anyone, nor did they respond.

Lol you don't even need to know anything about hardware to do what he's doing. It's just some screws and clipping parts together. Requires nothing more than not being a complete idiot to repair a phone screen or battery etc. on an iPhone.

i have a question
so on my old iPhone 6s plus my brother attempted to fix it by replacing the battery,my power button my charging port and my screen. but when he fixed it my phone wouldn't charge past 3% no matter how long it was on charge and it eventually died and it would just flash the power up screen when it was plugged up. and when we checked battery health it just said "-" what do you think is wrong with it?

Hi Hugh, the third generation released by the parts distributor I use in the UK is a fully functional home button now, minus Touch ID of course, it isn’t a physical button but it acts as the original with haptic feedback, i’m gonna order one soon and test it out, it looks good!

Meanwhile Apple is going to remove bluetooth in next update.

My son dropped my 7+/Iphone and broke the glass.. Worked fine for abt 4 months then display was gone for good.. Green and black lines appeared on the screen,nothing was working on it and then completely shut down .. I took it to a friend for repair but after 3 days he said he can't do it. I took it to a service centre and the guy told me and showed me that cable was ripped from the button. Is been 2 weeks now and i my phone is still in service.. Does it last so long? And can the guys from service steal parts from inside phone? :( thank u !

I've got a question about the Touch ID, can we fix the issue by reprogramming it with your JC Pro1000S, or this is not possible ?
I've been looking for some videos about this process, but all videos I've seen showed that the only way to fix it is by soldering an other part of the Touch ID.
Question i have an iphone 5c where the glue holding the glass to the plastic border came undone but the plastic border is still glued on what should i do?
How did y’all get the screen off? I can not seem to get the screen off, I’ve tried heat, and still can’t get it off. I even ordered one of those suction cup tools and still no luck. It’s just not budging. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

i've seen videos. where chips from displays got soldered from one to another display... could this not also be done with the home button?
Hugh if the Touch ID fingerprint works but the button doesn’t click does it mean the ic is faulty or something else ?

So I have a iPhone 8 that one of my friend gave me but it is rose gold with a white face and home button. I don’t like it and want to do a switch over to black. Meaning that the home button will have to be replaced as well. ReadinSg the description for a new one. It has a disclaimer stating this replacement is for decoration only and it won’t function on my 8. Am I reading this wrong or is this true? If so is there any other way around it. Please if any one has some solutions to my problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

No, as long as the button isn't read as an audio output you should be able to connect ti a bluetooth speaker and still have the home button paired
Apple is going to cause a lot of litigation making these things illegal. You're right, you shouldn't have to go to these lengths to repair your products.

Hi hugh. I bought my self a used iphone 10, out of warranty, within days i saw that there was a battery issue where when i use face id lock the system would switch off . though the battery showed 95% health it would switch off and show 3% battery life. So i changed the battery for a few days everything worked fine then i noticed a single pink line on my left side of my screen. Googled it, said voltage problem. Few times i switched off and everything was fine but now its permanent. U have fixed so many phones u might know whats the problem with my phone. Please help

Today I found out the home buttons on 7, 8 etc. weren't replaceable AND saw this video. Great work-around. I'm definitely trying it out. If I can ask, what brand of screen gasket do you use? It looks to be very good quality. I've been using cheapo eBay ones on 6Ses and they seem, well, crap.

Your channel made me want to find old discarded phones and buy the replacement parts for them and a set of tools, to see if he could be preoccupied with this trade, alongside his school work. He is alone at home and needs attention. We can only give him so much attention, as we have other children that need attention just as much...

Hey Hugh. I found this iPhone XS for sale and it’s water damaged and won’t turn on at all. Any tips on how I could possibly fix it if I got it?
My display of iPhone SE was crashed, including the home button. Later on I managed to get a new display of another set. Unfortunately, in this way I’ve lost my Touch ID. Every time, when I attempted to register my fingerprint, I got a message, “Unable to complete Touch ID setup. Please go back and try again.” In this way I’ve lost my mobile security. Could you please suggest me the way of solving the problem?
Also you said companies should be able to not let you repair parts like the home button. But blocking replacements means it’s wayyy harder to hack. It could be possible to hack Touch ID if it could be replaced, putting your data at risk. What should happen though is that Apple should only replace the Touch ID not the whole screen too
You can just force the user to redo their touch ID settings when it's replaced. Easy fix.

@@alessioacri. Yeah, the phone thinks its a keyboard and disables the iOs keyboard....VERY ANNOYING... You have to switch Bluetooth on and Off a million times....
Bear G I know it disables it with normal keyboards, but it’s strange to me that it disables the keyboard even with this single key....

As far as I know it's always been replaceable, however you will lose touch ID cos of apples anti repair policy basicly
@@usmansuleman9548 it will work, I talk from experience, I work on a repair shop, If it won't boot means there's a problem identifying the home button tho, without the home button takes far longer for the phone to boot ( I do it test the screen), I replaced few home buttons that got damaged with overly damaged screens. The iPhone 6 tho tends to be the most damaged of them all due to their design
@@usmansuleman9548 im not just being stubborn, from my experience when the button doesn't work might be a damaged lcd which has a flex for the home button or the home button itself, ive replaced some buttons for 7 since it's not as likely for them to break as on the 6, only when the screen breaks in such a way it damages the buttons cable

What if you hard reset your phone? Wouldn’t the iPhone disconnect from the button? And there is no way to get into the phone to connect to the button, because a working home button is required in order to get past the lock screen. What would you do in that situation?
Hey I have a iPhone 5 it currently won’t power on or boot, it was working last time I used it, it is jail broken but needs a restoration the screen and top back glass are shattered it’s a 16 gig running iOS 10.3.3 please message back!
