Somehow I saw this video was suggested by RUclips and then I just clicked in. At first, I thought it'll be another tech guy that just showing off how to add a headphone jack in about 20 minutes or so, kinda like just buying some sort of kits/adapters online and soldering something in, kinda like how you mod a retro video game console and add RGB or something, and that's it. But then as I kept watching, I started to realize that this is going to be huge, and then as time went by, weeks after weeks, lots of trial and errors, the sadness of him seeing the unexpected results, and the happiness of him finally succeed. I see how a man dedicated himself to this challenging project, with his hard work, and never giving up attitude. This is truly amazing. It is not the mod itself that excites me, but his story, the dedication and the spirit that encourages me, to do your best, and never say never. And of course, shame on Apple for not having the headphone jack on purpose. BTW, I wonder what Tim Cook would react if he sees this video. We should definitely let him see this.

Now I'm 18, I fixed simple circuits of little machines and even fixed our old netbook and made it fully functional. Like in your videos, I also came to the point that I almost broke my only smartphone and became a mess. But then after I finished my project. The full fillment in finishing it really makes my heart flutter and loves the feeling of achieving something that I didn't expect I would do. What I am saying is you're an inspiration bro! Well that was a very complicated way to put one in. He also did this on the regular sized iPhone 7, not the 7 plus which the dual camera took up too much space
Lol, we've all been through this crap already back in the early 00's when every single manufacturer had their own headphone socket and then things improved and now this shit again? Seriously Apple?
I can't believe that the repairman at the phone shop said that you couldn't add a headphone jack to the phone even if you wanted to... If you really want to get gritty with it, you could just scrape away the protective layer on top of a PCB trace responsible for analog audio output.
9:04 oh that's such a good businesses practice. Taking it out of the package and assembling and debugging it in front of you before you even buy it. I think this video truly showcases the entire creative process for everything, in anything difficult there is a point where you want to give up and this video is inspiring for pushing through that moment
Man you need a patreon. I bet so many people would sign up to have you make more videos. I sat here so pulled in through the whole process, the way you talk and film and edit it's so grasping. I'm not a tech person, I have no idea what I want you to film next... I just want to see more content from you. This was insane.
Apple said they had the *COURAGE* to remove the headphone jack to use that space for a worthless piece of plastic, yet one guy was able to get this to work in 4 months.
It was all about those stupid overpriced Airpod wireless earbuds & lightning cable stuff. Doing this on an iPhone 7 or higher probably would compromise the waterproofing though. Apple would get a shitload of Apple betraying customers back if they brought back the Jack.
@@theatom7264 Exactly. By the way: the bad thing about the waterproof story is this: if your iphone still has water damage, Apple refuse the guarantee because you must have misused your phone. Otherwise no water could have come in. Apple logic...
well it can recognize me while eating and wearing glasses and hats, only problem I had was when I shaved my beard off it took a couple tries to get it to recognize me. Idk why your having such a problem with it, they should have got rid of that damn button along time ago.

As an engineer and a maker who makes my own prototypes and PCB's I applaud you. You have my great respect for your skill, endurance and perseverance! Thank you Sir.
Bill Belzek the tech world is getting away from the Apple mainstream. But the lack of earphone jack is purely for financial reasons and not engineering difficulties.
I have seen the pain you go through on your videos from memory changes to this headjack on an iphone. Your persistance and resilience is admirable. I'm sure you learnt lots. We learn't why to buy something else other than an iphone. I find it painful to watch your pain and frustration. Thank god it works in the end. He still bought the product though. It is a good demonstration of Apple's greed nonetheless.
Thunderstyle Care to explain? How is that demonstration of Apple being greed?

That would probably be the iphone 91 and by that time they will have even removed the user from the phone
But what happened at the iphone 69?

Siri: Just what do you think you are doing Dave.
I think this video truly showcases the entire creative process for everything, in anything difficult there is a point where you want to give up and this video is inspiring for pushing through that moment
You are cool
I find myself actually on edge of my seat during the testing and cheering along when things work. Great video.

Man you need a patreon. I bet so many people would sign up to have you make more videos. I sat here so pulled in through the whole process, the way you talk and film and edit it's so grasping. I'm not a tech person, I have no idea what I want you to film next... I just want to see more content from you. This was insane.
Came here to say this. Agree with you, whatever the content this guy is interesting and clever as fuck !
Apple said they had the *COURAGE* to remove the headphone jack to use that space for a worthless piece of plastic, yet one guy was able to get this to work in 4 months.
Congratulations bro you worked so hard, keep doing wonders
Apple employee: “Why do you need three”
You: “Ahhh......... I keep breaking them....”
Golpheox ok.
Goodness gracious, I picked up on that as well. Corporate control from top to bottom.
I opened the comments to see if someone had commented on that hahaha
‘Me: can I buy an iPad’
‘Employee: ok’
‘Me: can I have 6 of them?’
‘Employee: why?’
‘Me: I keep breaking it’

You are becoming my favorite youtube channel super fast. Videos are mega interesting.
You're like the Robin Hood of the Apple world.
Thats just so accurate
ROFL
I agree
Man when you connected the jack and it worked was so satisfying. You could feel the happiness through the screen.
"in a world, where they said it couldn't be done. One man alone solved the problem"
said in the voice of that famous movie trailer guy.
Nice job.
but he did it and you don´t that is it
Apple : "we are not bringing back the headphone jack in the iphone anymore"
Strange parts: "just hold my screw driver "
Pashtoonkhwa Music he’s so wholesome lol
It was all about those stupid overpriced Airpod wireless earbuds & lightning cable stuff. Doing this on an iPhone 7 or higher probably would compromise the waterproofing though. Apple would get a shitload of Apple betraying customers back if they brought back the Jack.
@@theatom7264 Exactly. By the way: the bad thing about the waterproof story is this: if your iphone still has water damage, Apple refuse the guarantee because you must have misused your phone. Otherwise no water could have come in. Apple logic...
Me: android phones, I'm coming ur way
The way he puts all his heart into his project. Passionated and that smile he always show us.. i love his personality.
I love how in one shot, the hair is short and another shot, it's already long... The commitment for the project is on another level...
This is what nothing is impossible means, you just have to keep trying and trying.
Nothing is impossible if you dump enough money into it

Why faceid work just fine and is faster than the touch sensor!
sometimes im eating, or i have glasses, or my phone is "far" and i need unlock it with mi hand (with code) cause cant put my face all the time
well it can recognize me while eating and wearing glasses and hats, only problem I had was when I shaved my beard off it took a couple tries to get it to recognize me. Idk why your having such a problem with it, they should have got rid of that damn button along time ago.
Adr805 and a headphone jack
How come this dude can fit a jack in there but Apple says there is no space?
the answer is money,,
*bluetooth headphone sales is up by 54% now* which is 140$,,, we live in a greedy world
You weren’t supposed to see the inside. Just blindly take their word for it. 😊
Heqticz apple gets money for everything thats lighning cable
Because Apple are liars and just wanted to sell airpods
Because apple is greedy and 3.5mm is not propriety.

As an engineer and a maker who makes my own prototypes and PCB's I applaud you. You have my great respect for your skill, endurance and perseverance! Thank you Sir.
We need more innovative engineers to rise up and challenge Apple --- the world is sick of their BS
The projects are interesting and at least its real and shows how difficult it is, even with all the equipment you use.
