      Honestly it's just two contacts. It would be so easy to dab small amounts of solder on the contacts and tap them on the contact from the other side with a soldering iron.
      I think the whole pressure idea is for people who can't solder. Which is pointless with the assembly complexity of the whole project.
      Solder is solid.

      While we are at this topic: FYI: there are instant voice translators (the size of small smartphones) from China (iFlyTech and Sogou both have Pro versions) that can do pretty darn-good on-the-fly instant two-way voice translations in between a few dozen languages. Som Japanese brands also have similar product offers that might be better at between Japanese and other languages but the above 2 Chinese brands are superb in doing Chinese mainland Mandarin and other languages voice translations. Hope Scotty can make full use of these in the coming episodes.

      I still own a Lumia 930. Bought it about 1.5 years ago off a junkie for $25 with a smashed glass, bought another phone with a dead board and built one good unit (for the most part). It has some issues because the phone i got the screen off had also been dropped, but refuses to die entirely, and i'd rather spend my money on tools at this moment. Conversation microphone acting up lately, had to switch to speakerphone a lot and i thought i'm done with this thing, but then I bought Pioneer Bluetooth headphones and have no more issues making calls so I guess i'll prolong its agony.
      Last Apple phone i had was a 3GS. I still watch all the Strange Parts videos. :)

    If the main difficulty is making a good connection around the pcb plug, why not design it to attach by reflow soldering?
    There is already solder on the plug and a little extra on the wireless ribbon with some user applied flux might make a reliable connection once soldred. If the ribbon were made with Mylar you could solder it directly with an iron.
    Alternativly, it looks like you were applying foam tape on top of the plug to press the wireless charging ribbon against the pcb? Why not make a thin foam backing for the wireless charging ribbon that gets compressed under the plug when the shield is screwed down?

    • @StrangeParts
      @StrangeParts  6 лет назад +53

      Yes, Yeke is actively working on this already. Apple actually puts foam around the plug on the logic board already, but Yeke thinks it is too soft (and I tend to agree). So he's experimenting with replacing it with silicone. Still working out some of the kinks in that scheme though...

    Try installing the fingerprint sensor on the iPhone X. It's hard to get it working both software and hardware wise, but I'm confident you can do it.

      Harbir Singh pretty much impossible. this is just feeding voltage into the chip not bypassing a security measure. the only thing you could do is like disable the screen unless you scan your finger

    Try and put a new iphone logic board into a 6/6s and see if you get the features like swipe to go home and tap tap wake.

    The only obsessive thing I like abt these videos is when the answer to all his completed projects is "YES😂Its possible!!". An I always love the fact that there's always a possibility that the chances are every possible thing u can do with either phone model is that it works. Great job on the task of finding out if u can wirelessy charge an Iphone 7 💯💯👍 Great effort man, loving your videos keep at it 😁

    Wait if something needs to be plugged in the lightning connector why not just use a magnetic lightning tip? You know the ones for the Snap-on cables
