They are one of the most sought after beginner tarantulas due to their docile nature, long lifespan and ease of care and how beautiful they are. Took me almost a year to get a female Pulchra but worth every penny.

Tbh I've not provided any special care for this lovely tarantula. I mean nothing different from the others I look after. My rules are simple: One large dubia roach 🪳 every 2 weeks, I also fill the water bowl every week and raise the humidity when it's time to moult. I use cocoa substrate in all tarantula enclosures. I use heating mats to keep the temperatures around and above 20 C in the winter. I've got her already mature, so she has a large enclosure from the start, but for young & little Ts, it's recommended to start with smaller ones. One last thing - I have added hideouts in each enclosure. I hope that helps a bit. Thank you for your comment!

So my masochistic thoughts suggested I just watch them through screens where I know nothing bad will happen. Even if I freak out and say how big and massive they are with a sort of excited and scared look.
This one is a gentle giant. I got many friends that do not like spiders to hold one (not this one) and see there is nothing scary. My children love them too.
Beautiful, and so big. I tried keeping tarantulas but in my neck of the woods we have extremely low humidity and only desert species did a little better. Trying to keep humidity up was as futile as trying to stay dry standing under a waterfall. Though I managed to keep a parahybana male alive for 2 years after final moult. He was skinny but had a near record breaking legspan. He never ate, but keeping him supplied with fresh water was key. Quite amazing really how he could make it for that long. I had a pulchra too, for about three moults, but she hardly grew, non of my spiders grew a lot. I suspect that the low humidity and lower than average temperatures did this. I wouldn't recommend spiders as a hobby for people who live close to the arctic. It's not even close to their environment and it needs a lot of dedication to the animals keeping them alive and well, and even then it's likely not going to be doing them justice.
It would be great if you could tell us where do you live. 2 years for a mature male is the optimal period.
