Ikr... like I get it but why spill that soup bun I've been to that shop and they're so hard to get... I literally feel personally attacked hahahahhaaha
I watched it several times and only now read that on the address card 6:42 it says "please take me the longest way possible, I have money" lol, love this video
Even though I live in Japan, this is SO true! In the one year that I lived in Kyoto, I went to the Golden Pavillion alone for no less than 7-8 times... Now that I'm in Tokyo many years later, I just meet up with them one of the many days on their plan just to have food and catch up, no more showing around tourist sights or follow them around shopping and looking at them being super excited about 'the norm'. I do help them with suggested places to visit though, but they can venture off on their own, I tell them it's more fun that way since they can meet the locals and experience 'getting lost'. "All part of the experience!" *grins*
Dude I have weeb friends but I lived in Sapporo surfing and skiing everyday, so I had to drag my ass to Tokyo and show them around Akihabara, and go to that fucking robot restaurant every few months. I just ended up ditching them after a year saying that I was busy at work. ( I never was) Worst thing is I’m probably gonna move to China in a year after I get married. Since my fiancé doesn’t feel like moving to America right away. And I’ll have to do it all over again.
It wasn't China where I lived as an expat, but I still relate to this so hard. The worst is when random Facebook friends from five million years ago just assume they can stay at your place for weeks at a time. And they're too broke from backpacking to even get you a thank you gift #stillsalty
This is why i make a point not to have friends. then i do not have anyone trying to mooch off me. Just like i dont accept gifts so I do not feel obligated to do favors for other people.
I do admit after my 6th trip to the Great Wall, I waited in the parking lot while they did the (not so) Great Wall. With all the smog, you can only see 100 to 200 feet.
Had much different experiences at Mutainyu. I could see as far as the eye could see. No X-ray machine, no armed guards, immediately before you step on to the wall only a small umbrella topped table vendor with an even smaller cooler containing Qingdao, a truly refreshing experience to stroll in such a wonderful place where the only steel is your drink container. This is not possible to enjoy something so amazing in such a "great" way anywhere else in the world. Anywhere else and you'd likely be arrested, so why not do it again, and again ........
Change the visitors to Hungarians and Shanghai to Israel and you have my life for the last 28 years... I laughed my ass off. I'm so happy you guys are back.
You guys' acting is amazing, watching this video the third or forth time, seeing the contrast in your acting when you met your first visitor at the airport and towards the end. I couldn't stop laughing, you guys are amazing comedians.
Outstanding video. This was as funny as anything you've released, but more than ever simply nailed the pacing. Awesome. So relatable to my trip to Shanghai in 2015. My host friend literally took me to all those places.
This is weird. I was never tired of taking my visitors to the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Hutongs, Sanlitun... I guess Beijing is just more interesting.
this's sooooo hilarious, can't stop laughing. as a chinese lives oveaseas and having friends visited fairly often, this video is so relatable. great work guys!
It seems a bit rude for me. When I have visitors, I tell them before if I will be able to pick them up at the airport or if we should meet somewhere else. And I just tell them to visit the most touristic places while I'm at work. When I'm free, I show them my way of living. So everyone is happy! I'm always so happy to have people I love coming to see me.
叶清臣 How would it be exhausting to meet them after they did the tourist stuff? It’s your friends that you haven’t seen for a long time usually so it can’t get boring imo
Totally agree best video yet! (Though, I wouldn't mind you guys bringing back some of the old comparison videos, including the intro). Well scripted, paced and nicely shot. Keep it up!
Mercedes Hieb I've been going to HK, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, etc 4 times a year for the past 10 years. Trust me, I never get used to hear and humidity. Fuck that shit. I've been spoiled by the weather here in California
So true. I got tired of showing people around the same tourist places after a few times. I used to pay for them in the beginning too! I remember a blog from this blonde lass from Sweden a few years ago- one entry was exactly about this issue! One time her parents visited her in SH and the way she wrote it...the parents were so keen to see such and such place, and she told them she'd already been there six or seven times in the last 12 months, and she started to see her parent's faces droop, so then she said of course she'd love to show them! Turned out exactly like this video! haha!~ Wish they had the original title intro music and graphics.
You guys are back! I know you've said it more than once now but hot damn welcome back! Now I really want to come visit you in Shanghai to meet you all in person and ...............
Sorry, I should have explained myself better. "Areeeeeee back!" Meaning not just in notification but in hilarious quality content so thanks for that. And sorry as well that after watching the video and posting my first comment it appears you did not understand my attempt at humor. Two sorry's in as many sentences = Canadian, even though I tell everyone I'm reincarnated Chengdunese. I call this my foreign affairs policy which seems to work well for me (when in China).
I like your videos very much, annotate them from different angles, give people a fresh feeling, pay attention decisively, and look forward to more and more wonderful works.
So true !!! I had the same experience in both Shanghai (my hometown) and the U.S (where I lived for 7 years).... I now tell my friends that they can just see the back of the Statue of Liberty from the Liberty Park in Jersey (no traffic, plenty of parking, no waiting in lines for the ferry). And when I was in Shanghai, I always tell them that the best Xiaolongbao is not in Yu Yuan....
AND... I always take my western friends to an Indian restaurant that I like...
Really funny! Although I'm in Japan it's basically the same. At the begging all excited about having visitors... now, please just leave me alone ha ha ha. Keep up the great work!
Lol of course, if she still can't learn how to use chopsticks to pick up a teapot without spoiling anything for the next year she'll be facing death sentence! For real! Nice video!
same!!! if you are studying or working in overseas, your friends or family would say "WOW!~~ I would want to come to have a trip, could you guide me to see around?" ......
You are genius, this is hilarious! I am Chinese living in Sydney, Shanghai would be many time worse. It's even funnier when watching it the second time, or the third. You guys are great actors.
My friend came to visit me here in the Middle East, and after showing him some places I actually like going, we just got drunk and baked the rest of the time. What a week!
That took a depressing turn
Oh come on, it was hilarious!
#reality
Good thing I don't have friends that visit me :D...:(
Classic. 😅
I can't believe you spilled his crab soup bun ...
i still don't get it, why would he do that? The other guy seems like a nice person.
yea felt legit sad and hurt :( the dude just wanted a taste of the soup bun

I live in Tokyo as well, and when people come I'll only meet them at places I actually like.
Why Are We Still Here? I hate China, time to move out from this shithole of russiascopycat
Haha I can't count how many times I've been to kiyomizu-dera and fushimi inari because of friends visiting

The facial reaction of the locals when Matt wasted 2 cups of XLB @9:50 lol
lmao

That's Crab Soup Bun but yes I would love to have it if they don't hahaha
I noticed that too! Yeah, wasting food is a huge no-no.
Omg I laughed so hard
8:56 i’m gonna forever call “xiao long bao” by that pronunciation from now on 😅🥟
Same, Lol!
Ksao long bee'o.
9:15 wasn't that good either.

Yup went to wall of Nanjing when it was raining, right after Chinese New Year, so many people just to see blow up lights...
I LOVE the part at 8:50 where the tourist friend says Xiao Long Bao. HAHAHA
I mean how many friends can one have lol
"I'll give you a percentage" I died. So very Chinese.
Wow this was actually really fun to watch. Totally exceeded my expectations. Good job!

I laughed my ass off. I'm so happy you guys are back.
Freaking hilarious! I love the fact your characters decided to get in on the local graft.
I like to call Chinese that are abroad 'Laowai' and watch their confused expression. Haha
You can call them 'Laozhong'.
that's hilarious, will def try that when i go back home haha
Turn the tables on em
@@Royce399 How so? Don't you guys already use so many demeaning slurs for them?
@@Jedster Way to generalize everywhere that isnt China into "you guys"
"Can't show them around if they think you're dead"
LOL missed so much this kinds of video
That scream at 4:50 has been my internal monologue for the last 2 years. Thanks for the legendary video. mates.
LMAO!!! I am Chinese, but god damn I was so tired of people asking me to show them around in the city.
YES
@xoBlue - Birdxo You will find yourself home there, people are very friendly and willing to help. Hope you will do it one day

I know this is a semi-dark video but I cracked up at "exy-ow long bae-yo"
Also don't worry, Matt resurrected at Pudong Airport
HAHAHAHAHAHAH this is funny, need MORE ! at last nice to see you guys back !
Coming up on 2 years and you guys are soul crushing.

Marie, c'mon. This was satire, comedy. Ever heard of that? ;)
Base Yellow CHINA or its you that sucks ass?
