Splash Mountain was Imagineering at its peak. It feels like a ride Walt Disney and his original imagineers created, definitely on the level of Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. Losing Zip a Dee Do Dah in the parks is also a major loss
Absolutely. Someone said it best when they called it "the most Disney ride at a Disney Park". It checked every box for what a theme park ride should be. Naturally, awful modern-day DEIsney would remove it.
@@dylhurlsldr You clearly have never watched the movie, nor understand actual history. It was set during a specific time period in the US, and I hate to break it to you, but just because there was a class of people that were not classified as "free citizens", did not mean they were suffering or being tortured. The movie was very uplifting. No one was offended by it, at least until the marxist wanting to push critical race theory in teh US started telling everyone to be offended. As Mr T would put it, I pity the fool who just went along with it. The world is crap today specifically because you people accept the word of bad actors, trying to create a racial revolution.
@@dylhurlsldrclearly you didn’t watch the movie. The movie setting was during the reconstruction era when slavery was what?? ABOLISHED! Do you want me to repeat it for you? Abolished means it was gone.
Yeah and it had so much dark spaces, and a lousy drop off with a song "Dig A Little Deeper" song playing instead of "Almost There" or "Friends on the other side", I'd rather watch Belle's Magical World or The Little Mermaid 2, or Cinderella II Dreams Come True. At this point Disney World Imagineers should update Tiana's Bayou Adventure with more pink flamingo statues, 3 possums on a tree branch, lady butterflies and more TV screens filling the dark spaces playing stock footage from The Princess and the Frog. There should be villains like Reggie, Darnell, Two Fingers, Lawrence or maybe Dr. Facilier spirit and play "Friends on the Other Side" which I would've enjoyed more. Once I go on this ride at Disneyland and it turns out to be just as boring as Jungle Cruise ride, then I'll forget about it and go on other Disneyland rides. I'd much rather ride the awful spinning teacups than go on Tiana's Beta Adventure.
It’s because the movie it’s based of “song of the south” had black people working like slaves and being happy this made others angry and hate the movie even though the movie takes place after the civil war where most black people went back to their jobs only this time getting paid which is why there happy but a lot of people don’t know this so the ride is getting shut down
I had the honor of riding it for the first ever time this month. I loved it!!! It was our families first ever time at Disney and I had no clue they were closing this ride down til a few days after we had rode it. It was so much fun. It will be missed dearly.
As someone who went on this ride the last time right before it closed I can confirm that this ride was better than the new Tiana ride and I went on that ride yesterday ( coming from someone who’s fav movie is the Princess and the frog )
I agree. Disney would have done great if they opened a brand new Tiana water ride that was done very detailed. They could have kept this ride. I say don’t cancel history and pretend it doesn’t exist especially when the Brer folklore, while tied to a controversial film, is NOT an issue.
Disney is changing so many things that left so many memories for my children and grandchildren, and some of their friends that I don't know if I want to go back
Nothing was ever supposed to be set in stone. Walt himself said that the parks are never finished and that they are always going to be expanding and bringing in new stuff.
Splash mountain is timeless, it is a work of art that uplifts your spirit after you ride it. If they can change this to Tianna, then surely they can change it back

Words cannot describe how much I'm going to miss this masterpiece of Imagineering. Everything about it from the music, to the colourful characters, to the warm and wholesome atmosphere is just perfect. My ultimate comfort ride. I will never forgive Disney for taking this away. I'd be so much happier if they re-themed one and left the other alone, like Tower of Terror/Mission Breakout. Smh... Shameful. I was never a fan of Princess movies. Always preferred Disney's animal movies.
By evolving, we lose our history sometimes. I for one, love to see the sights and sounds I had as a child for it will momentarily take me back to a simpler time. It’s a shame when they discard like this.

@@RyanM95 yup. same boat. I had no issue with the retheme, I understood why they'd want to do it, but I really thought they wouldn't botch it that hard. Why make the ride take place after the movie? This ride was both my savior and nightmare growing up. I have epilepsy and can barely sweat. Overheating is a trigger for me so as soon as I started to feel too warm we would book the next available time for this ride so I could be cooled off and feel cooler for the rest of the day. This was my grandma's first water ride and she got the front row seat; my mom had to force her to switch seats with her because my grandma didn't know what was coming🤣. But I also remember the 3 second stop at the top of the steepest hill and looking down at the thorns, even as an older teen, thinking that the thorns would be the death of me. But there was always that tunnel underneath and that serene feeling as I took a deep breath out. As disney would say "This is a core memory" for sure.💜💜💜💜 Thank you Splash Mountain.
Splash Mountain is still better imo, Tiana's Bayou got lots of empty spaces and felt a bit lifeless but the Mardi Gras part was awesome. Splash Mountain got lots of empty spots too but the theme of the ride didn't make them feel out of place unlike the party theme which Tiana's Bayou going for

Just watched this after Tiana pov. The 'dead space' works in the original because it's building up tension, and the story, music and characters slowly unfold. Plus it gets slightly creepy with the music getting faster and more chaotic to the buildup of the big drop. Whoever designed Tiana just missed all that. They didn't even include the villain which would have added so much tension before the drop. It looks so disappointing.
@@jonathanmarkowski5081that’s not an excuse for making a terrible, bland ride. Modern left-wing disney is creatively bankrupt. No soul or heart, all the foundations pulled out and just plummeting into the earth.

I first went to Splash Mountain when I was 4 years old, absolutely loved it. When I went back home to Scotland, I always begged my parents to take me back to Florida next holiday. My wish was granted 4 years later, and it was the first ride we visited when we went to the Magic Kingdom. I always vowed when I was old enough to travel independently that I'd go to Splash Mountain on my own, now I'm close to 27, life and circumstances got in the way, and now I am full of sadness and regret for not going sooner. It's true, nothing ever lasts forever, but I'll never forget how it made me feel till the day I die.

Has adorable theme and a little trill too. Perfect for everyone. Is there maybe another Splash Mountain on one of Disney other theme parks maybe?
Well good news! Aside from the American parks, Splash Mountain is located in Tokyo Disneyland! And the best part? The Oriental Land Company, which owns TDL, has gone on the record saying that their version of Splash will remain for a long time.

Me sad thing is is I never got to ride splash Mountain
Splash Mountain was Imagineering at its peak. It feels like a ride Walt Disney and his original imagineers created, definitely on the level of Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion.
Losing Zip a Dee Do Dah in the parks is also a major loss
Agreed.
Absolutely. Someone said it best when they called it "the most Disney ride at a Disney Park". It checked every box for what a theme park ride should be. Naturally, awful modern-day DEIsney would remove it.
I went to That ride back in 2016 Now This is goodbye
Farewell splash mountain

@@brightmacsworld8353 yeah We Will

I'll be singing "How Do You Do?", "Everybody's Got a Laughing Place" & "Zippity Doo Dah" when I ride the new ride.
lol I would do the same
😭😭😭😭💔 There was NO NEED to destroy this masterpiece !!!
According to Yuri Bezmenov, their "need" to destroy it is part of the subversion process.
@@dylhurlsldrI can’t imagine living life so offended by everything all the time. It must be exhausting for you to live that way. 🤦♂️
The 1% thought they were being offended.
@@dylhurlsldrclearly you didn’t watch the movie. The movie setting was during the reconstruction era when slavery was what?? ABOLISHED! Do you want me to repeat it for you? Abolished means it was gone.
Wow, I can’t believe they replaced this beauty with a Princess and the Frog continuation that is half-finished.
It’s because the movie it’s based of “song of the south” had black people working like slaves and being happy this made others angry and hate the movie even though the movie takes place after the civil war where most black people went back to their jobs only this time getting paid which is why there happy but a lot of people don’t know this so the ride is getting shut down
@@Cheesy653who cares, no one goes on that ride and says that, the new ride sucks

Missing this more today after seeing the full new POV :(

Splash mountain is timeless, it is a work of art that uplifts your spirit after you ride it.
If they can change this to Tianna, then surely they can change it back
We will all miss splash mountain 😢

I love that you captured this for the records. In such clear quality too.
I have never been able to make out everything so clearly when I rode. The sounds are always so loud and overlap each other. So I miss certain characters dialog.
While I will miss this fun ride. I am excited to see the Princess and the Frog remake of this.
What an amazing ride, it’s hard to describe how cool it is when you do the first big drop into the darkness and the music sounds chilling all of a sudden
Thanks for posting this. Unfortunatelly my family didn't want to ride it with me back in 2011, and knowing that I'll never be able to ride it tears my heart out... rip Splash Mountain

They can’t because the movie that splash Mountain is based off is pretty let’s just say inappropriate about skin color so they had to get rid of it
Words cannot describe how much I'm going to miss this masterpiece of Imagineering.

You've made a stunning farewell video to this attraction, thanks for doing that! Many mourne the loss of this attraction, but I am hopeful for the retheme and hope I can make memories on it as well!

@@RyanM95 yup. same boat. I had no issue with the retheme, I understood why they'd want to do it, but I really thought they wouldn't botch it that hard. Why make the ride take place after the movie? There are no stakes left by the end of the movie, so the ride is just Tiana's Na'vi River Journey - it's crazy how badly they dropped the ball on this
i didn’t even get the chance to get on the ride
Most definitely lol ..

Bro splash mountain has a very special place in my heart because the first time I went to Disneyland we went on splash mountain and I sat in the very front so I felt very accomplished
How do you think it compares to the Dineyworld one?
I don’t understand why they can’t make a new movie with all the animated characters and refurbish the ride of the new movie. It would change the reputation and even add to/fix some parts of the ride.
The problem is what it’s based on, not necessarily the film itself

Just watched this after Tiana pov. The 'dead space' works in the original because it's building up tension, and the story, music and characters slowly unfold. Plus it gets slightly creepy with the music getting faster and more chaotic to the buildup of the big drop. Whoever designed Tiana just missed all that. They didn't even include the villain which would have added so much tension before the drop. It looks so disappointing.
Maybe because the villain died in the original movie

Modern left-wing disney is creatively bankrupt. No soul or heart, all the foundations pulled out and just plummeting into the earth.

WHY set the ride’s narrative after the events of the film?
Why not follow the plot of the film?
Rest in Peace, Splash Mountain. We’ll miss this attraction so much. 😢
Always loved how after the drop, there was still “more ride”. It didn’t just loop around to the exit. ❤
Thanks for taking US on this last journey as Splash Mountain. Not a lot of parks can boast attractions of 30, 40, or even 50 yrs! Lets hope Tiana's will be a worthy successor. I personally had a different dark ride treatment for the movie as an attraction ONLY @ Disneyland. Even had the place for it. We don't have "clone" every ride.

I bet he’s shuddering at what they did to this classic.
Really gonna miss this ride, I’ve gone on it every time I’ve to Disney and it is just heart breaking
This is my favourite ride in WDW. It is just a classic masterpiece of a ride. I love the animatronics, the music and the feel of it all. It was wonderfully designed. The best kind of theme park ride.
