- Learn how to adjust the kit response to your own personal playing style.
The DTX10 series is the flagship of the DTX lineup, combining the functionality of electronic drums with the sheer beauty of their acoustic counterparts. Featuring real drum sounds and real room ambience recorded in world-renowned studios, playability that allows you to create sounds intuitively, inspiring feel and expressiveness, and the true beauty of real birch shells with the same finishes used on acoustic drums, the DTX10 series was born from the technology and sensibilities that Yamaha has cultivated over its many years of crafting drums.

Very helpful stuff, thanks for the video. Can you do a video on optimizing the hi hat please? How do you set it to really get all of the open hats sounding and feeling realistic to an acoustic kit?
Can’t wait till mine arrives!
Simon why did you go to spl 22 for velocity curve? How did you find this out? What is the difference higher or lower? Thanks😉👍
How to do a factory reset Simon?
is it possible that the Yamaha DTX-PROX Drum Module works with the Yamaha DTX8K-X Electronic Drum Set with TCS Heads?
What’s the difference between the gain an sensitivity settings?
Do I need to do this for every pad? Or is this an overall setting for the entire kit? Cheers!
Update2: I found a solution. Even the correct pad (xp125sd-m) was selected. When I changed the pad and switched back to the correct one the problem was just gone. Now the pad reacts as it is supposed to!
Hi Simon,
I have a problem. Playing a DTX10K-M. Everything works great but the snare pad sometimes misses hits when I play really fast single/double stroke rolls. Same rolls on toms and cymbals work perfectly fine.
I looked it up in the manual and it says one should lower the reject time. My reject time is set to 4ms which seems to be the lowest setting possible. Do you have another idea what could fix that problem? As it’s ruining the whole experience of playing the kit 😕
thanks for your videos those are really helpful!
Update: Tightening the head seemed to make it better but the problem is still existing.
When I play close to one of the triggers the problem is not there I think. Only playing in the middle.
I think it wasn’t actually lose before. Now it is really tight.
Can you name the trigger so you know what it is?
How to assign a specific sound on the pad?
