Went through all your videos just so I can have a fighting chance of understanding the basic concepts before beginning the heat transfer course. I find that most professors don't do what you do.
Provide concepts. Provide background or basic information for understanding those concepts. Reinforce those concepts with fully-developed examples. And then, most importantly, repeat, repeat, repeat. I might not have fully understood the concept the first time around.
    You're awesome!

You are a hero, sir. Thank you for these videos. I learned enough of heat transfer in the last 24 hours to pass the exam I take in 90 minutes, despite knowing almost nothing before. I am forever indebted to you and your excellent instruction style.

Thanks for all the lectures! I come from a physics background and am entering a ME masters program so this has very much helped me get up to speed for the classes I am in!

Thank you for my first lecture on Heat Transfer Fundamentals of Physics involved with Convection. ..Am trying to experiment something with Convection and Conduction combined and would like to have added wisdom on the subject..God Bless

hi professor, below i have a problem about heat. I apologize for any mistakes in English (thanks to google translate :).
There is no answer to the problem in my book. But my approximate answer is that the temperature of the metal after 30 minutes is ~623°C, but I have doubts about my solution. Please tell me how to solve this problem (or in the case of a video). Thank you in advance!!!
    Problem:
A piece of metal with a temperature of 25°C was placed in an oven. From 25°C, the temperature of the oven began to rise steadily at a rate of 20°C per minute. When the temperature difference between the furnace and the metal is T°C, the metal begins to heat up at a rate of 10 T°C per minute. Find the temperature of the piece of metal after 30 minutes.

Did you ever post the lecture videos for chapters 12 and 13 on radiation?
Thank you for posting these videos! I have learned so much from them!

Hi everybody why the correlation for natural convection giving the Nusselt number above an horizontal flat plate is different of the plate is hotter or colder than the environment and in forced convection, a single correlation can be used for a plate that is hotter or colder ? what is the physical explaination for that ?

I think this is because forced convection correlations neglect gravity , whereas in natural convection, direction and nature of flow is determined by density of air around surface and gravity, which gives us different correlations.
