Thank you for the comment! Your model number is XBR-55x990E, is this correct? The issue you are describing sounds like the color test pattern. This color test pattern often occurs when the ribbon cables (LVDS) need to be reseated, I would try that first as it would be the fastest and cheapest option. If reseating your LVDS cables does not resolve your issue, I would replace the main board, then the tcon board and finally if neither of those resolve it, it would be the display panel itself that has the malfunction. Thank you!
@@tvpartstoday Hi there, thanks for the response. I'll answer here and by email. I've tested it and couldn't see any image. As I reported before, the TV kinda turns on with power, you can see some backlight, shades of black and if I tune something on the TV you can see some barely visible shadows moving around. BTW, I just got an obscene fix estimate from sony :(...
Mine will turn on for around 30 seconds. Looks absolutely fine. And then turn itself off, and a red light blinks four times. I tried doing a reset, but it will still only turn on for 30 seconds.
These Sony TVs can be tricky with the "blink codes". I would give our office a call and talk with one of our customer service reps. (930) 212-1975
Hello, I have a x900e, it just shut off and I got the red leds that flash 4 times. I can power the TV back on after unplugging it, but it shuts back off after a few minutes. Any idea what I would need to replace?
Hello,
What is your full model number?
Hi, xbr 65x900e
Probably needs new led strips?
I have this exact TV(US Model) and all the sudden, I do not know what happened but it will not turn on. No red light or anything. What can I check? I tried another power brick but that did not work?
Hello,
Based on the information we would suggest replacing the main board. We also recommend making sure Sony still offers the firmware update for this model before purchasing a main board. If you have any further questions or need help identifying any parts please email Info@tvpartstoday.com Thank you!
I have this tv and it is showing 2 lines. One in the middle and another on the side. Could this be a tcon board or a loose ribbon? Anyone knows?
Hi, thanks for the comment. Lines are typically tcon, main board or screen. Usually Sonys are pretty good about self diagnosing when there is an issue so it’s odd you don’t have any red blinks. I would recommend replacing main board, tcon board & LVDS cable(s) that run from tcon to the main board and if nothing resolves your line issue then it’s likely the screen.
My TV turns on and displays normal picture then turns back off and blinks red 4 times. So I replaced the LED driver board but with this new board the screen doesn't turn on at all. TV powers on and there is sound but thats it. Should I get another board? Any ideas?
Considering the board changed your symptoms we would suggest getting a replacement on the board you received. If you get the same symptom as before then we would suggest more troubleshooting. If you need help with anything you can email Info@tvpartstoday.com and they can assist you with any questions or concerns you may have!
@@tvpartstoday so I got another led driver board and it's doing the same thing as my original board, 4 red blinks. I also replaced the tcon board with no changes. Any suggestions
XBR-55X990E has wide color bars red Green blue which alternate direction vertically and horizontally then turns red and shuts off.
I am guessing this is a main board problem, Have you experienced this ? Can you give me the correct board number ?
Any suggestions ?
I have not found any service info on this model and it is not listed in my service files.
Do you have a XBR-55X990E service manual ?
If you can help please give me your email address.
