I bought every piece of boxing gear based on your Reccomendation. Ring to cage gloves, everlast elite 2 shoes, phenom fshg, ringside no foul protector. Big thanks from a begginer down in Toronto!
As a heavyweight, I love this thing. It's crazy how small it looks in person and yet I still feel a massive difference in taking punches with it versus taking punches with my rival RHG100. Super glad I pre-ordered this headgear.
Wish Hit N Move would publish the test data on their website or similar. I think it would benefit them as they are the only head guard maker I know of that did such a thing. It lends credibility to their product. This will also benefit the community as they compared several head guards and may push others to test their gear like that.
Agreed. That’s probably their biggest request/ challenge right now is showing the numbers to the public. I know they exist because I’ve personally seen it, but it would help back their product if they can release it.
If I may touch on regarding the data handling practices of Hitnmove. I’d like to clarify why we do not publish this data publicly. 1. Ownership and NDA Rights: The data we work with is proprietary to Virginia Tech, which holds exclusive rights to it under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). This agreement ensures that Virginia Tech can be the first to utilize and share insights from this data, maintaining the integrity and competitive advantage of their research. 2. Complexity of Data Interpretation: The data includes numerous calculations that require a nuanced understanding to interpret correctly. For instance, if Hitnmove reports a risk number that is 0.03% better or worse, it can be misleading. Such small percentages may seem significant at a glance, but they often represent negligible differences that do not translate to meaningful improvements in safety or performance. For example, if a customer sees a risk number of 0.014 on Hitnmove and 0.019 elsewhere, they might incorrectly conclude that one option offers 40% better protection. This could lead to unrealistic expectations and potentially misguided decisions. 3. Standardization and Misrepresentation: Virginia Tech's research ensures that claims made by various football helmet manufacturers are based on a consistent understanding of the science behind Performance Level Assessment (PLA) and Performance Risk Assessment (PRA). By controlling the data distribution, we prevent companies from cherry-picking statistics to support misleading claims about their products' performance. In summary, our commitment to upholding the integrity of the data and ensuring accurate interpretation is paramount. We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate these important considerations. Best regards,
Thank you for your review, Carlo. I’d like to share some key insights from our recent testing at Virginia Tech. Tested item was 8 oz (hnm1) headgear demonstrated an impressive risk variation of only 0.03%-0.05%, confirming its protective capabilities are on par with leading alternatives. However, we didn’t stop there. To elevate safety standards, we introduced a 9 oz model, incorporating an additional ounce of material in critical areas for enhanced protection, along with a specialized layer designed for superior performance. Our testing provided invaluable insights into the materials, densities, and thicknesses that optimize safety. Additionally, we tackled the common challenge of chin straps slipping during sparring. While some coaches may resort to tape, we developed a more effective solution to ensure a secure fit. This journey has been marked by 3.5 years of collaboration with gyms and athletes, resulting in positive feedback and strong demand for our innovations. I encourage all gear companies to prioritize rigorous testing, rather than merely rebranding existing products. Thank you once again for your continued support!
Hello. I'm gonna buy that headgear but I'm not sure about the size.. And my head is 22.5 inches that I'm afraid of if m size is too small for me or l size is too big.. what's your opinion? I don't wanna miss my size best it's quite expensive delivering to my country 😢 Hope you can give me answer bro 🔥
I bought this head guard and wore it for 10 x 2 rounds of sparring intense sparring. The first time I took a punch with it on, I was super surprised because it took the sting out of it massively! It was a strong lead hook as well after I accidentally threw myself forward after throwing a rear hand. I was shocked by how much of a sting it reduced from it! The guy is a hard puncher too. Also, it's super light and makes your head a much smaller target. The only issue I would say is that I have a very large head and I bought the large size. However, the laces at the back are nearly as tight as they can go, and the top of the headguard has been tied tighter. So I can't imagine there are many people out there who would actually need to buy the headguard in large unless their head is huge… And I mean heavyweight size huge head. Apart from that I highly recommend it. It's the best head guard I've ever worn.
just wanna say i absolutely love the headgear, its super light, and way more protective than any other headgear ive ever had, definitely beats Winning, and worth every dollar
great review 👏I think it is not just lightweight making it easy to roll with punches, it is how they distributed the weight imo. Onx is light too but doesn’t feel as light as HnM. The coach ordered couple for his pros after trying mine, and they seem to love it! They go much harder than our group! So far I am loving this headgear. Their groin guard isn’t special like their other items. Good groin guard but no bells and whistles.
I wish they offered more color options, but I’m really impressed with mine! It provides excellent movement and vision. The protection is solid-can’t say it’s better or worse than others I've tried. Great for those who rely on footwork, slipping, and countering.
This is my favorite headgear by far🙌🏽 I can never go back to a regular headgear again. One time I forgot it at home and I had to use a different headgear and they all feel so big and bulky after wearing the HitnMove headgear. Just a great piece of equipment and the only headgear I’ll use!
Hows the protection against eye ball impacts ? Update: I bought the headgear and tested it out myself -- as long as were sparring with boxing gloves, 16+ ounces, the eyes are safe from 98% of shots. Might have to make a review of my own here soon 🤔
Well. I've been so interested about that headgear and here's my conclusion. It's pretty light and well protective, unique style. But it's not so far from others. Still one of the highest quality. That great choice for who want best headgear regarless of budget, and who want good vision. But for somebody who already has a headgear that fits really well, it's not a good option. It's like paying 250$ for upgading 100 to 101 or 102. Also good choice for somebody who can't wait for winning headgear.
@@ElChanclaHero that’s more of a rugby/grappling head guard to protect ears and maybe protect a little bit against heads clashing. Might actually be something when that’s the only thing we worry about in sparring. The price looks way nicer, though.
The thought put into this headgear is appreciated but it really needs to be updated or redesigned. It is too expensive to have a very generic chin strap that won't stay in place. The cheeks moves up into the eyes constantly because the strap slides out. Only used in 4 sparring sessions and not satisfied at all.
these are the best head gear for boxing and mma? I need to get some asap I trusted all your other reviews on other products what would you personally recommend?
How do you think this compares with the rival pro headgear? I feel like they have a similar check style and both are light. What would you prefer and overall quality and padding?
I own both. How they look similar to you? They look nothing alike. I compared both very throughly. Imo Hitnmove is more comfortable and provides better nose protection. I also like the weight distribution of Hitnmove more than onx. Have you tried Hitnmove?
Trying to decide if i want to drop the coin on this yet..it would replace my bulky ring2cage head gear. I may also just go with something else that's approved in USA boxing.
I like it but the circle on the forehead makes it look off. Would have been better if it had a more angular design like on the sides. Geat review though!
Also, don’t forget to use your hands not just for punching…. parry’s, posts, etc. if you constantly have them in between your opponents gloves and your face, then you’re good.
I get you, and not a big fan of “claims” myself. With that being said, damn, your winning is 8 ounces? The lightest I’ve seen an FG2900 was about 10 ounces.
Yea it’s crazy I think new models are lighter I got mine in 2021 though. I saw someone weigh an old medium winning and newer large one. Medium was like 11 ounces and the large 9.

Got the same one finally. A little pricey but wonderful visibility compared to any other cheek headguard I've used.
