The melody in this hymn is the same one used in the hymn's "The Church's One Foundation" and "Another Year is Dawning".
If I'm not mistaken much of the tune to the four verses in this song (refrains aside) are from the Aurelia tune written by Samuel Sebastian Wesley (1864) and used most commonly in the hymn 'The Church's One Foundation' written by Samuel Stone. It would have been nice to see this acknowledged I think.

In French is admirable redeemer. We use to sing it in church when I was a child. However, these lyrics are also good, we don't have many songs encouraging the church to go for our commission.

Pretty song with lovely words, but the truth is 99.9% of American and European Christians couldn't care less about lost souls. Music like this sounds good but doesn't reflect the sad, true state of "Christianity."

This refers to the very strong spiritual stronghold that the frontline field workers (and even supporting headquarters staff) face as they try to evangelise. In truth, Jesus has not returned just yet and so Satan is still actively the Prince of this world. For the time being!

Not sure if you are understanding the verse in Rev 7:9 to mean that every single person from the history of mankind are included in this multitude. I think what the verse really means is that the gospel will have spread to every nationality and culture far and wide, by the time the events of Revelation come to pass, so that there will be Christians found amongst each of those people groups. But it doesn't mean that every single person ever alive has been saved. It's a different kind of "all", logic-wise. Think of it like a variety pack of chips: You get some of each flavor, but not all that has ever been made.

It's true that there are people who have died who never heard the gospel in their earthly lifetime. We don't know if God reveals Himself to those persons individually, just before they die or before they are judged. But we do know they suffer the earthly death without hearing the gospel (from us), partly due to our disobedience to God in faithfully obeying the Great Commission.

@@dwebb1935 Nice explanation. Hope more people read this. This song is far from being unbiblical. It is one of the few songs encouraging us to get off out of our pews and to go into places he is not known. I would say I am a bit cowardly like the song suggests, but I do try to lend support to career missionaries I know. We all need to be involved in the task.
It's a real pity that the intro music and bits inbetween sound so much like something one would hear on worldly radio. It really retracts from the magnificence of the words in my opinion.

I love many of the songs you have written but this one does not make the cut for me. You can do better. I like the tune of "THE CHURCHES ONE FOUNDATION" but I want to hum the tune and think of the original words. Writing new hymns is great but don't ruin old ones.
The Facing a Task Unfinished lyric by Frank Houghton is not new; it's dated around 1931. The tune Aurelia is by Samuel S. Wesley and was originally composed for a different hymn, not The Church's One Foundation. My church has sung both Facing a Task Unfinished and The Church's One Foundation to this same tune since at least the 1980s.
