    Great video. I will be using these 2 cards for miles accumulation as well. Why not consider adding one more card, UOB PPV? As its more for general spending (Online and Mobile Contactless), can use when max out or cannot be clocked under either card

      :) i think the hsbc revolution somewhat covers most grounds already for my spending! But definitely if i need to i’ll go w that!

    • @rrcc1988
      @rrcc1988 Год назад +1

      I definitely recommend going with UOB PPV so that you pool your UNI$ instead of having a separate earning of miles with another bank. UNI$ also expires in 2 years, so it would be better to pool it. Again that depends on your spending habits. I go with UOB PPV and Lady's to pool my UNI$ and anything outside of it, I use Citi Rewards tag with Amaze for online or overseas spending.

    Hi Demi! Thanks for sharing your strategy. Can I ask why you decided to save up for miles to a shorter destination (Korea)? Was just thinking that given the availability of budget airlines to this destination or even quality hybrid airlines, would it not make more sense to save up the miles for a longer haul flight (e.g. Europe, US, NZ etc.) to make the most out of the business class experience? Also, if the UOB miles expire in a year, would that also mean that you would need to hit your goals within the year? Thank you!

    Hi Demi, thank you for the informative video! Love the educational content you're consistently sharing. Sorry if this is a dumb question as I'm rather new to miles chasing, but if the points for UOB expire in 2 years, does it mean I have to redeem the points for flight tickets within 2 years? Or can I store them as miles after the 2-year mark? Thanks!

      When you redeem and it goes over to eg krisflyer is a new set of expiry date!

    Hi Demi, I’ll be making big purchases in Paris next week. Which credit card should I apply for such overseas spending which will (1) incur no overseas transaction cost; (2) link to KrisFlyer points redemption? Currently, I have both YouTrip card and Trust card; both not linked to KrisFlyer redemption. My other DBS Women card, though linked to KrisFlyer, will attract overseas transaction fees. In your opinion, which credit card will work best for me? Thanks in advance for your help.

I've been using Amex True Cashback card for 3 years now and each time I try to research more about getting another card etc, I just get even more confused. If there's no videos available, would you consider doing one lol and explain it like I'm 5? 😅

    Great video! Why do you think its not worth it to use miles to redeem a SIA Economy Class Tickets? Its still pretty pricey and results in savings

    • @DemiZhuang
      @DemiZhuang  Год назад +6

      👋🏼🙂! I think my main reason being it’s the affordability of an economy class ticket. I’d rather spend and accumulate for something I’m not willing to spend on which is a business / first class flight experience.
      Just my own thoughts!! Of course if you feel it’s ok and results in savings then 👍🏻👍🏻 do it :)

    • @azzzteccc
      @azzzteccc Год назад +1

      Yeah I totally get that! Just checked- for 54,000 KF Miles you get a return economy ticket to ICN! (Almost same as business one-way) Which is basically cancelling your flight charges and allows spending money on food, stay and fun! It’s just different perspectives and goals! Thanks for sharing the info, Demi. Very insightful and the best breakdown I’ve seen to help understand the miles game. I appreciate it. 🫡

      Taking SIN-NRT 11Jan2024-22Jan2024 for example, (the below does not account miles conversion fees). This is in terms if miles value.
      Economy Ticket
      90000 Miles + $99.40 airport tax vs $1729 cash ticket
      1 mile = $0.018106666
      Assuming you earn 4mpd, that's $0.0724 back per dollar = 7.24% cashback
      Business Class Ticket
      140000 Miles + $99.40 airport tax vs $4429 cash ticket
      1 mile = $0.0309257143
      Assuming you earn 4mpd, that's $0.1237 back per dollar = 12.37% cashback

    What card to best accumulate miles if its a big ticket item costing more than 3k? All miles card like got cap and ocbc card don't give bonus for all items.

    • @derrickhiu7349
      @derrickhiu7349 Год назад +1

      Maybe can try to ask the merchant to split the bill.
      1k to UOB ladies/3k to UOB ladies solitaire (selected category), 1k to instarem + citi rewards combo, 1k to UOB PPV Contactless, 1k to HSBC Revolution etc
      to maximise the bonus miles, then followed by general miles accumulation cards with no max cap usually lower earn rate like DBS Vantage (1.5mpd), UOB Prvimiles (1.4mpd), DBS Altitude (1.3mpd)
