what is the process like to getting your plates, is it just like a car or is there a different process?

Yes it is a different process...rather you will be working Interstate or Intrastate.. you have to put alot of other permits in place along with the insurance..

No I have my own company and Authority. I'm insured with my own policy to operate Interstate OTR and Local

How many miles is good miles for a Volvo

Try to get something with nomore than 350-400k miles if used youb should be good. I had close to 400k on mine I had to end up getting a overhaul so it's like new. but usually you won't need an overhaul until the milage gets close to 800-900k obviously the person I got ther rig from was not taking good care of the truck. But it runs excellent now.
