  • In October Grocery Haul and Response to a Viewer Comment, I’m sharing my October grocery haul and responding to a viewer comment left about how I was using the Ball FreshTech Waterbath Canner and Multi-cooker. I was forced to be creative with my food options due to higher grocery prices.

About this video: October Grocery Haul and Response to a Viewer Comment is ‪@homemakingwithdenise‬ 's October grocery haul. It's been a while since she posted one and the change in prices definitely created a little sticker shock. She's also responding to a comment by a viewer who indicated she was not using the Ball FreshTech Waterbath Canner and Multi-Cooker appropriately. This is a video response to that comment.

Grocery prices are insane! I shop two or three different stores, chasing down sales. NOT FUN! I am glad soup season is here. Healthy, and less expensive meals. Thanks for going over tge canner. Really a nice product!

One way to save is with store brand instead of all name brands. Ive switched over to Aldi almost exclusively as they often beat even Walmart prices & quality is better. A few items are not good, but 99% has been great.

Me too. Plus it wears me out going to more than 1 store. Aldi is mess stress with less to choose from from.

You might have saved $100.00 if you shopped Aldi first. I do an online order and grocery pick up just about every week. Then I go to a regular store to pick up the things Aldi didn't have. Seriously, these days it's important to save where you can.

I just found your channel and I am so thankful that I did. I have been floundering around trying different housekeeping methods but after watching some of your videos I am convinced I need to go back to Flylady and back to basics. Thanks for being on RUclips! You exude an aura of cozy comfort that inspires me to want to create that kind of hospitality in my home as well. ❤

I always pick up a rotisserie chicken too or something like they when I go grocery shopping as I’m too tired to cook when I’m done putting away the groceries.

I think that, considering almost daily price increases, you did really well. You have the makings for several meals ( with some leftovers). Not sure, but do you do any food prep meals? That would be another way to save time and money.
Thanks for showing the Ball canner. I haven't seen that particular one. I'm thinking about getting a steam canner but may look into this one.

Crustless Chicken Pot Pie! I need that because it’s probably gluten free. Yes I buy premade lasagna too for the guys as it just got two of them and probably than making it myself. (I don’t eat it because of gluten) Try the “Rana” brand lasagna it us so yummy but it’s in the cheese section of store because it not frozen lasagna. It is superior to all other pkg lasagna I’ve tried. Love Rana Alfredo sauce too!

Sam's club has a lot of those items cheaper even in bulk. I shop Kroger too but I buy in bulk at Sam's to save on pantry items.

It’s nice to see all the food you bought. I buy only simple ingredients. I cook from scratch every day but it can make me feel tired cooking like that every day. I am trying to convince my husband to allow me to do batch cooking so I can freeze some meals so I can have some days off from cooking. Food prices are high in Canada sometimes our bill will be over $100 and I only have 7 items.

Cooked Rice freezes very well. It can be cooked from frozen in the microwave with a splash of water, in a couple of minutes. It maybe an idea to cook up a big batch and separate into the same serving size as the Uncle Ben’s.

Curious how much the International Delight creamer was? It is $4.40 at my Publix so I started getting the Aldi similar creamer brand for $2.75 That’s a huge savings. I like the caramel macchiato too!

I picked up 5 of the Classico sauces. Picked up the Progresso soups as well. Love that I get a good jar as well with the Classico sauce. I always stock up on snacks (chips, Fritos) when Kroger has them on sale and put them away. No way am I going to pay over 5.00 for a bag of Fritos. I have a well stocked pantry, freezers plus we garden, have chickens/eggs and raise our own beef so I'm blessed that I mostly just purchase things that are on sale. For the past month I've been using Kroger delivery and have been pleased with the quality of the produce I've ordered as well as I think it saves me money because my husband is not purchasing impulse food items that aren't on the list. LOL.

I’m glad I had weight loss surgery. As a result I eat A LOT less and our dietary needs have changed (high protein, low fat, low carb). 😊😊 But because prices are going up, our grocery bill hasn’t changed much. Frustrating! Have you tried the zero sugar Bush’s baked beans? Dang, they’re so yummy!
