This isn't a place in wich you just eat, this is an experience.
I've been in Ortigia this summer and went straight to Borderi and I found out that particular day was Mr. Andrea's birthday.
He was so excited that he started to offer cheese throwing it to all the people waiting for sandwiches, he was singing songs to whoever bought a piece of cheese and he always had an incredible smile on his face.
    I love this man

What if someone doesn't like garlic and onion smell on his cheese or bread ? This is what i meant, as for hygiene,as long as you eat out of home its normally dirty because they don't care, it's not like your own mother or father, I had cobwebs on my salad while I was eating a steak at Churchill hotel intercontinental in London , which means that veg was old, plus hasn't been touched by water !!??

This food looks better than Subway, Jersey Mike Subs, Firehouse Subs, and the Delis we have here in California...All the ingredients used here look fresh, have great flavor, and handmade. HIGH QUALITY FOOD. Well done, Sicilian society for showing us how much you care about your food...from harvest to home. In the U.S. we would call this person "a sandwich artist." But there's a HUGE DIFFERENCE between food you find here in the U.S. and the food in Sicily. Just from watching this video, you can tell the food there in Sicily is much better than here in the U.S.

if you want your food fast you usually don't say "yeah the streetmarket, this is where i get my food the fastest"
If you want it fast, subway has you covered. no entertainment + almost no talking + 10 euro less in your wallet for a sandwich that has two slices of ham one slice of cheese and when you get lucky only 2 jalapeno stems.

All the ingredients in order of comparison. Capslock when is cheese: Filoncino bread, olive oil, PARMESAN, dried ciliegini (sweet tomatoes) with basil, fresh salad (radicchio+lettuce+lemon juice and lemon zest), fresh tomatoes
(Ramati), GRATED CACIOTTA, GRATED SHEEP RICOTTA (the same he serves on a plate in the meanwhile. The one in the plate has been aromatized at the moment with fresh garlic, olive oil and origano), more RICOTTA, olives, red sweet onions and some more dried ciliegini.
The filling roll: Slices of a massive CACIOCAVALLO CHEESE, mashed potatoes with parsley and oil, ham, more RICOTTA, more sweet onions (with a drop of lemon this time), parsley. PS: For the italians mad to me for using the term "Parmesan", sorry. It's Parmigiano, the original one. Mo rilassatevi eh, che vi si alza la pressione e poi il dietologo vi toglie i paninazzi.

RILEYR88 I don't know about THIS SPECIFIC one, you should ask to the uploader. Anyway tho i can tell any streed seller, every little alley, behind any corner in any sicilian town is a good place to found amazing food. The whole Italy is a land of great food but Sicily deserve a special mention. PS: No it's not what we call "campanilism", i was born and raised in Rome, i'm not Sicilian at all ahahahh

Quello che dici è vero ... L'inglese è la lingua universale. Quando un turista arriva nel mio paese (Argentina), parla in inglese e molti non si preoccupano di imparare lo spagnolo.
