Also, without Kojima at the helm, I am 100% sure some gameplay mechanics and unique quirks will be covered with too much new paint.
the one thing im worried about is now their will be a ton of people who cant tell the difference between big boss and solid snake; its gonna be so annoying lmaooo.
I'm not holding any hope for this I mean,c'mon,it's Konami And you all KNOW how much Konami has fucked up What's to say that this won't turn out mediocre?
This is genuinely the more exciting news for me and I hope we will get more info on it next month. Specifically whether the release platforms for the MC will include PC (where the 1 and 2 ports are garbage and the rest of the series aside from V never got released). If they will and if the ports are actually good and successful commercially, it might encourage Konami into revisiting the older games even more (and maybe, just maybe, making an update for V which would finally include (among other things) Ep. 51 - wishful thinking probably, but a man can dream...).
I legit can't get excited about anything else right now, every now and then i just imagine how possible is for the gameplay to have been improved similarly to V or even beyond that and i lose my freaking mind 😂
Honestly, if it was all MGSV controls/gameplay, but nothing was changed, regarding structure/enemies/pacing? I would be Happy with that! Games don't need to take forever, and being a super soldier that Moves (and - equally important - Feels) like one sounds awesome It'll still take Hours to beat - just a lot less jank
Well hold up, Snake Eater 3D already basically did this, and man, the difficulty was TRIVIAL on the highest setting. I don't think they should do that if theyre not gonna make the enemies and bosses more lethal to keep up.
As a lifelong MGS fan since a chubby 11 year old in 98, ive only recently been able to get into MGS5 and I totally agree with you in the sacrifice that was made in making it open world, a Hitman style format with the Kojima spin would be perfect. But my biggest concern is exactly that, the Kojima spin not being present in the games. Unless Kojima writes any changes or future games, I dont think I'll enjoy them.
I think they'll use the original voice files simply to save on costs. Konami at the end of day is still a buisness that needs to work within a budget and it's shareholders.
I saw me walking in front of myself. But it wasn’t really me. Watch out. The gap in the door, it’s a separate reality. The only me is me. Are you sure the only you is you?
They are not re-recording lines. It seems they are just reusing the old mgs3 sound files. Mainly because some of the Japanese voice actors for MGS3 have sadly passed away ie Sigint and Volgin. So the voice acting isn’t changing.
I'm so relieved to hear that, thank you but that does still beg the question of if they were use facial capture and if so, will that have to mime the voice lines to sync with the expressions?
@@dead_end_alley they probably will. I’m not sure however, there might be some UE5 plug in that can simulate the way a humans mouth moves when they speak. Other then that I’m not sure. Konami might give more details on stuff in the near future.
Because when we watched it live, we had no clue it was anything MGS related but if you watch it afterwards you know it's MGS3 so the surprise element is lost and it's just a pre-rendered trailer that shows nothing of the game
The only thing I can add is that I hope it's not just consoles that are getting this otherwise I'd be pretty disappointed. They should consider releasing on Steam and Epic since the games have all been rereleased once before, and they are pretty old. (I am mentioning about both the collection and delta, not one or the other).
Great video. I didn't see the trailer live so didn't get that extra hype. As happy as I was about the reveal, I felt that the reveal trailer didn't feel "Kojima" esque which made me sad.
First, congratulations on the quality of the video. You deserve more subscribers. Second, you said exactly what I've been thinking these days. There's not much need to re-record the lines, especially in Kojima's absence. You know, he was the director, meaning EVERYTHING was directed by him: camera angles, lines, soundtrack, etc. The team was incredible and they delivered a work of art both because of great talent and because of Kojima's mastery. The absence of Kojima in a remake of one of the best games in the franchise is something to worry about. Let's wait for the final result...
I very much appreciate that feedback, thank you 😊 I'm not worried about the absence of Kojima because he already has done the hard work by making the original. With the way Konami has worded this remake, nothing about the cutscenes or dialogue has changed, it will merely be brought up to high fidelity. Kojima isn't needed for a graphics update. Now the new team could very well screw it up somehow regardless but I strangely have faith in them
@@dead_end_alley Exactly. I only quoted Kojima in case they tried to re-record the lines. As you said, he already did what had to be done in the original. It's already amazing how it is. Trying to re-record without him would be a tragedy, wouldn't it?
I'm happy for the remake I'm just disappointed it won't be of the msx games I really wanted the cinematic style gameplay with the plot of the originals I never got to play as a kid, hopefully tieing everything together with solid, liquid,l and venom snake
Same here buddy. What hurts the most is that the franchise has so much detail in it now that remakes of both MSX games have the potential to be the best of the series. The tragedy of Venom Snake, and the rise of Solid Snake, to the eventual fight between Solid and Big Boss. It's all brimming with drama and conflict
If I were with the team who came with the remake I would of mentioned about using better equipment for the game . And for me to share my thoughts about it .
I’ve not kept up with any rumours at all. But within the first few seconds of the trailer my mind jumped to metal gear. There must have been some hint, musical note or something, as my mind literally jumped to metal gear. I’m happy anyway.
Nice video! I share your concern in certain areas too, but I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic with this remake. Konami have a LOT to prove after how things ended with Kojima and then MG Survive. I'd also like the guards to sound more Russian, like in the Tanker chapter of MGS2. If anything, I'm just enjoying this moment right now of the hype around MGS again. Hasn't felt this way for a few years!
Me too brother. Trust me, I'm absolutely loving the hype and having all of the community going crazy. I'm loving all the discussion surrounding it and I haven't been this much of a child about something in ages. We've a lot of time to spectaculate and enjoy the hype. In the meantime we can get excited about the master collection this autumn
tbh, i'm half-and-half about this remake. on one hand, i can admit it's cool that we get Snake Eater redone with modern graphics, ala RE4 Remake, and it's confirmed that the original voice actors will be returning for the game, most notably David Hayter as Big Boss and Suzetta miñet for EVA. i am a bit concerned over what will be removed, added and what will be kept. while i do look forward to this game (i plan on buying it on steam when i can afford it) i am concerned that it's not gonna be as big as the OG game. either way, whether it's a hit or miss, i know i'll always hit the originals (still have them in working order.) and i'll look forward to the re-releases to nintendo switch. :)
they have the orginal voice actors and the studio behind is konami and virtuous and they said that 5 days ago so if youre a fanboy check your info first
Well things that have come out recently that it's being made by Konami and art/assets are being outsourced. They are will be using the old voice files and it will be UE5. They seem to be trying to make it a one to one remake but they might miss things. Also UE5 is not a bad thing it's just a lot of devs will use pre-built assets and particles and even systems which make games that use UE5 games seem the same. From whats came out due to interviews the last couple a days they seem to be on the right track. But time will tell I guess.
They'll probably have new dialog based with a new script. It'd be very hard to use old dialog if they decide to add/change anything, and its kind of expected these days. Im just worried that this game will be soulless. It'd be easy to do a remake of mgs3 and make it better from a technical standpoint. But Im afraid all the humor and nuances will be gone. Im afraid that the plot won't have the same impact, and try and be too grim, dark serious. Kind of how people were worried about the Re4 remake, only worse.
As long as they won't screw up the collections, I don't care. I want the games I love, not a version of one of them (my least favorite of the classic four btw).
Concerned? They are rebooting arguably the best game in the series I remember playing this game back in 2004 on my ps2 LOVED IT! Surely this new one is going to be fantastic! Be thankful in such a cowardly generation that they are bringing back games with balls!
Completely disagree with the Hitman approach. The good MGS games stopped at MGS4. All the "single missions" games are just bad design for me. MGS is a Super spy movie where you have to do things and then watch what happens to the plot because of what you did, just as a scripted movie. I really like the 10 hours of cutscenes and the "narrow" maps with 1 or 2 different ways to achieve the same goal at the end. Think about MGS1 if it was a single-mission type of game like MGS: PW.. it breaks the story completely.. what if you could get to Otacon before the hallway scene of the soldiers being killed by grey fox? what if you could go downstairs and jump the broken stairs and just don't use the elevator with the soldiers using the stealth camo? Even if they implemented some of the "great story points" in other places, it wouldn't be as memorable like these points are, so what's the point of doing a sandbox mode for this? Hitman is cool, but it's also broken. Theres dudes stepping on suitcases to shoot targets on the other side of the map and finish a mission in seconds. MGS is not "just do a mission", it's a whole process to tell a story about a mission, which is to save the world again. Fuck I hate MGS PW, GZ, and PP.
I loved this when it came out and still have the original. I've got PS5 and wish it was able to play on that. I hope Konami doesn't mess this up and turn it into a dumpster fire like Metal Gear Survive.
Unreal Engine 5 can be made to look like whatever you want it to. Just because studios use stock assets doesn’t mean a studio like Konami will. They said they’ll faithfully recreate it and won’t change or add anything to the story. They’re simply modernizing the gameplay. You want UE5 tbh they shouldn’t be spending money on developer tools. That’s a huge money sink. The cutscenes will be mocapped with a human actor. That’s it there’s nothing wrong with it.
You're right I shouldn't be worried about that, but it would be very tempting for a studio to want to cut corners and use stock assets. Shame about the fox engine, if they continued developing that it would have been a massive contender to UE5.
I feel like they may need to re-record the voicelines. Japanese companies seem to hold grudges harshly, and I think they may not want to work with David Hayter... Kiefer Sutherland wasn't a bad Snake, at least.
That's a misconception. There's absolutely no beef between David Hayter and Konami. Kojima always wanted a Hollywood actor to play Snake since MGS3 ( he tried to get Kurt Russell for the role) which is why David Hayter had to re-audition for the role every entry up until MGS Peace Walker. Kojima got his wish for MGS5 by acquiring Kiefer Sutherland and the excuse was he needed Hollywood talent to do expressive facial capture. That's the only reason Hayter was replaced. It has got nothing to do with Konami and I'm sure Kojima didn't really have ill-intention in replacing Hayter, he just loves Hollywood movies and always wanted to work with A-list actors. The voices are not being re-recorded for MGS Delta, they're using the same recordings from the original. So David Hayter will be Snake. Hope it's all cleared up now
@@dead_end_alley I remember hearing about Hideo Kojima being obsessed with Hollywood action movies. I will take this L on my part, but I still stand by not trusting Konami lol
Another note on re-recording, the actors are over a decade older and definitely can't sound the same as they did. Even if they did, it'll sound tired in comparison to 2005, and the game was probably in development from 2003. My thing is are they going to "modernize" it. As in, take out some voice lines or cutscenes of Eva. In today's climate, her cleavage, while important to the character and story, would be changed for no reason at all.
the only apparent change so far is the color palette. the screenshots shown is very grey, black and with high contrast. the original is more green, yellow and a bit blurry. the snake model has the goofy bandana fitting to his eyebrows though, so it seems like the aesthetics of the game stays true. when it comes to the gameplay mechanics, i hope aiming remains difficult, as its necessary for the game balance, and it rewards patience
Bro y’all gotta help me got on they ass if the soldiers don’t speak back to us when we interrogate. In every other one they just made retarded sounds and there’s subtitles to tell you vs in snake eater they actually spoke back to you.
I really not concerned about it, the game is already done (mgs3) so think about how BluePoint handle Demons Souls. dont get me wrong i love Kojima but removing David Hayter as Venon Snake got me so mad so just because of that im glad he's not involved.
Konami ahve confirmed that they are re-using the voice audio from the original game. I think this is absolutely dissapointing as they were recorded around 20 years ago for a ps2 game which was more arcade like than games of today. I don't think the voices will live up to modern graphics.. David Hayter had a very animated voice and although I liked it for the previous entries I feel its very outdated.
Concern is putting it mildly. I'm a longtime MG fan, and I can't believe how quickly everyone lost their mind over a simple character reveal. A reveal that had no facial animation of any kind. Nothing to get excited about.
I'm concerned that this game will be so good, but get no love because Hideo Kojima isn't attached to it. That's my only concern at the moment. And I can't say I blame those fans who will refuse to buy and play it. Konami has been on many of our shitlist after Kojima was ousted back in late 2015. Now in 2023, they think all is forgiven. Well it's not. That being said, I will make up my mind once we see a gameplay trailer or demo playthrough.
My biggest concern is in the title, "delta." The Greek letter delta is often depicted as a triangle (as seen in the title of this game). In mathematics and engineering, delta signifies change/deviation/difference. I've never seen it as a substitute for the number 3, despite the 3 corners and 3 sides of the triangle. Put simply, I see this title as an indicator that this MGS 3 will be different from the original. Different enough to warrant the name Delta.
If Kojima were developing it, I'd agree with you. He'd toally do something like that to indicate it's going to be different. But...this is just Konami. I doubt they're going to be that thorough.
@RaptorJesus but then that would suggest that Konami chose to name this "delta" for no reason whatsoever. They may as well call it MGS Triceratops at that point.
This dude saying the trailor was masterful is insane. It's CGI and Konami is the last company to be trusted with quality games. Your nostalgia is showing man. Wait till it releases to talk.
No, I said the way they handled the trailer by putting it early in the show and not making it clear that it was MGS was masterful. The trailer is pretty bleh. If nostalgia was blinding me I wouldn't be concerned in the first place
But being concerned is how a new mgs game is being developed, they were concerned wether it will be a good idea or not for a remaster, it takes thinking to get the beat out of something
Ehhh..but I want to play it, that's why I'm concerned? It's remaking one of my favourite games of all time and I'd love for them to get it right. Should I give them mindless praise for simply announcing the remake ?

EVERYONE should be concerned. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up like this:
$1.99 for face paints
$3.99 for camoflauge
Raiden and MGS1 Snake masks are pre-order "bonuses"
$9.99 to stop in-game hunger
multiple weapons and items locked behind various paywalls
DRM always online...
Also, without Kojima at the helm, I am 100% sure some gameplay mechanics and unique quirks will be covered with too much new paint.
It was so clear it was mgs 3. Soon as I seen that parrot I was like MGS3?? Then I knew it was once I seen the electric fence
the one thing im worried about is now their will be a ton of people who cant tell the difference between big boss and solid snake; its gonna be so annoying lmaooo.
I'm not holding any hope for this
I mean,c'mon,it's Konami
And you all KNOW how much Konami has fucked up
What's to say that this won't turn out mediocre?
On the plus side, the Originals will also be accessible...hopefully vol2 has 4 pw and po
@@Rimland23 damn you, now I have to search what 51 is...
And they hired Virtous Studios out of all places.
yeah im concerned about it not running on my potato its mgs3 there isnt really anything they could screw up
It's konami
I legit can't get excited about anything else right now, every now and then i just imagine how possible is for the gameplay to have been improved similarly to V or even beyond that and i lose my freaking mind 😂
Instant sub for your extremely strong stance on game preservation.
Honestly, if it was all MGSV controls/gameplay, but nothing was changed, regarding structure/enemies/pacing? I would be Happy with that!
Games don't need to take forever, and being a super soldier that Moves (and - equally important - Feels) like one sounds awesome
It'll still take Hours to beat - just a lot less jank
P.T. was really something else
@@dead_end_alley it was the truth. Now you can see it for yourself. It’s not really him. Are you sure you won’t be replaced just as quickly?
@@dead_end_alley the dont need facial capture. They can be animated by hand.
Imma wait before I buy. The change the original person behind God of War sucks to me
how do you only have 649 subs amazing video
I've a long way to go before I deserve more subs but that comment made my day thank you :)
I really don't see how watching it live or watching it later makes any difference to whether you are surprised..... very odd thing to say.
I'm hoping they make the gameplay more in-line with MGSV
I'd argue it's one of the best in the series from a pure gameplay perspective.
If you ask me, i wouldn't even want MGS1 voice acting redone.
We've seen the sad result of that already.
Not to mention the acting in MGS1 is stellar and I think the sort of reverb/echo effect on the recordings added a lot to the atmosphere of the game.
The idea about making a MGS game in the style of Hitman is great. I had a similar thought when TPP released and they kinda had it with Ground Zeroes
Great video. I didn't see the trailer live so didn't get that extra hype. As happy as I was about the reveal, I felt that the reveal trailer didn't feel "Kojima" esque which made me sad.
I knew what it'd be as soon as I saw the dead poison dart frog tbh
Don't be. It'll be great, shitty or fine. And life will move on.
I like the way you think
2:39 should have said “kept you waiting huh”
First, congratulations on the quality of the video. You deserve more subscribers. Second, you said exactly what I've been thinking these days. There's not much need to re-record the lines, especially in Kojima's absence. You know, he was the director, meaning EVERYTHING was directed by him: camera angles, lines, soundtrack, etc. The team was incredible and they delivered a work of art both because of great talent and because of Kojima's mastery. The absence of Kojima in a remake of one of the best games in the franchise is something to worry about. Let's wait for the final result...
I very much appreciate that feedback, thank you 😊
I'm not worried about the absence of Kojima because he already has done the hard work by making the original.
It’s like everyone forgets about metal gear survive
I'm happy for the remake I'm just disappointed it won't be of the msx games I really wanted the cinematic style gameplay with the plot of the originals I never got to play as a kid, hopefully tieing everything together with solid, liquid,l and venom snake
Same here buddy. What hurts the most is that the franchise has so much detail in it now that remakes of both MSX games have the potential to be the best of the series. The tragedy of Venom Snake, and the rise of Solid Snake, to the eventual fight between Solid and Big Boss. It's all brimming with drama and conflict
Yeah, virtuous has been working on this for about 18 months now. Don't know about the other Devs working on it.
If I were with the team who came with the remake I would of mentioned about using better equipment for the game . And for me to share my thoughts about it .
The 3DS Version has Peace Walker Gameplay and the game is just fine.
I’ve not kept up with any rumours at all. But within the first few seconds of the trailer my mind jumped to metal gear. There must have been some hint, musical note or something, as my mind literally jumped to metal gear. I’m happy anyway.
Im also concerned…. That they skipped the first 2 for this one.
It’s the earliest entry in the canon, they probably wanted to start from the beginning
Time line order
they have the orginal voice actors and the studio behind is konami and virtuous and they said that 5 days ago so if youre a fanboy check your info first
Anyone else praying for a peace walker remake?
even if its bad we'll still get a original trilogy port on ps
What is the filter and color tint they use in mgs3? And what is the photo realism you talk about
Concerned? They are rebooting arguably the best game in the series I remember playing this game back in 2004 on my ps2 LOVED IT! Surely this new one is going to be fantastic! Be thankful in such a cowardly generation that they are bringing back games with balls!
He didn’t have his bandanna till after he got thrown off the bridge by the boss
We know Konami... It's going to be a smash and grab.
I loved this when it came out and still have the original. I've got PS5 and wish it was able to play on that. I hope Konami doesn't mess this up and turn it into a dumpster fire like Metal Gear Survive.
Enjoyed listening , I’m fanboying just like you! Hmu if you want to talk more metal gear !
to be fair if konami were to remake one mgs game without kojima, snake eater would be the least fuck-upabble imo
Mgs delta is also coming to xbox. Not just ps5 and pc.
@@dead_end_alley Agreed on the Fox engine. Would´ve loved to see more (good) games made in it...
I feel like they may need to re-record the voicelines. Japanese companies seem to hold grudges harshly, and I think they may not want to work with David Hayter... Kiefer Sutherland wasn't a bad Snake, at least.
@@MichelangeloVA that's the vibe I'm getting and I refuse to give Konami the benefit of the doubt
We all are. Its our baby
In today's climate, her cleavage, while important to the character and story, would be changed for no reason at all.
the only apparent change so far is the color palette. the screenshots shown is very grey, black and with high contrast. the original is more green, yellow and a bit blurry. the snake model has the goofy bandana fitting to his eyebrows though, so it seems like the aesthetics of the game stays true.
when it comes to the gameplay mechanics, i hope aiming remains difficult, as its necessary for the game balance, and it rewards patience
if there's anything konami can mess up they will mess it up.
i think mgs5 should have been structured to mgs4 but with more of a sandbox to each area.
Mgs 3 remake hope konami expand the licensing of advertising in the original
Bro y’all gotta help me got on they ass if the soldiers don’t speak back to us when we interrogate. In every other one they just made retarded sounds and there’s subtitles to tell you vs in snake eater they actually spoke back to you.
Concerning?? Hell yeah its concerning if Kojima is not on board
Metal gear solid games usually have the same graphics in Gameplay as they do in Cutscenes
What are your mgs games ranked?
I don't want to give it away incase I make a ranking in future but I will say that MGS1 is my favourite.
@@dead_end_alley Would be a great video!
Bro you should see my reaction I was flipped the hell out and I'm gonna make a video on my concerns as well
My biggest concern is in the title, "delta." The Greek letter delta is often depicted as a triangle (as seen in the title of this game).
The fact MGS2 had Russian accents for Russian characters but MGS3 didnt is kind of a sin
kept you waiting huh?
Why be concerned when you can simply not play it if you don't want to xD
But being concerned is how a new mgs game is being developed, they were concerned wether it will be a good idea or not for a remaster, it takes thinking to get the beat out of something
Ehhh..but I want to play it, that's why I'm concerned? It's remaking one of my favourite games of all time and I'd love for them to get it right. Should I give them mindless praise for simply announcing the remake ?
it only needs to pass through the non wokeness test successfully
It seems to be a remaster
Totally disappointed They should remake the mgs SNES and Famicom
All we are saying is give Konami a chance
