- Standing 153 feet (46.6m) tall with a top speed of 65 mph (104.6 km/h), it's not the tallest or fastest B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) floorless coaster, but it might just be the most well known and is one of four that opened in 2000. Can you name the other three?

The very slow movement up a rollercoaster accomplishes several things:
A. It builds tension.
B. Creates doubt (Why did I get on this thing).
C. Provides a good aerial view.
D. The "clicking" sound adds a horror element.

OK. I'm going to date myself here. The one and only time I went to Sea World was back in 1989 or 1990.
I had no idea that Sea World actually has rides now. It was just a really big aquarium back then. While I enjoyed looking at the aquatic animals, I wish they had rides back then as well- that looks like a really good roller coaster!
I went to Sea World back in 89, too and never saw any coasters then either. My excitement was Shamu, the shark tank and petting a ray.
Yeah SeaWorld is slowly moving up there on the Roller Coaster trend. They have 3 real big Roller Coasters and 3 family ride-coasters. All of there rides are real fun though, SeaWorld is definitely stepping up in the world. I would really recommend visiting it if you like roller coasters.
Zachary Craft theyre also moving up there in the animal abuse world also... I’m a coaster enthusiast and would love to ride their 3 main coasters but cannot support their confinement of enormous sea life to use for our entertainment

Zachary Craft only Orlando has big coasters tho the San Antonio park has a decent collection, San Diego just has a Mack Family launch coaster

even though its my least favorite of the trio of B&Ms at seaworld orlando, its still a top 10 coaster in my opinion!!! its got a solid layout and great transitions!!!! long live the kraken!!!!

@Jaiden M Yeah, I mean, I can see where they're coming from, as it's almost a cross between a flume and a coaster with the feel of an on-rails attraction, but I agree; Journey to Atlantis is a coaster with water sections when all is said and done

ChozoSR388 journey to Atlantis is classified as a roller coaster by Mack Rides who made it. Journey to Atlantis is a water coaster model.

My brother and I went to Orlando 2 years after this coaster opened. He used it to help me cure my fear of heights. I never told him how much that meant to me and now I never can. I wish they would restore the ride to its glory... he loved that ride so much

Makes me miss going to this place when I was a kid, especially on days where the park was basically dead. Sometimes they would let you stay on the coaster cause no one else was there to ride it

Mako kinda did take the spotlight from Kraken as Sea Worlds best ride lol
@@bradyryan5105 Depends on what you're looking for. Mako is taller and faster, but Kraken is a great looper. They are very different rides.

It's so smooth, and I, a chicken when it comes to roller coasters, rode it with no problem at all. Highly recommended! The drops are so smooth (and I hate drops; for that reason I can't do the Mako), and the corkscrews and twists are EPIC!!!

@John Lorton That's all a matter of opinion. Kraken is actually my favorite floorless coaster, and I've been on 7.
It's a top tier floorless, but considering all the RMCs and gigas and all that other fancy stuff, this is significantly less high ranked than it was on opening.

I’ve been on a lot of rollar coasters, but when I went on this one my life flashed before my eyes. I closed my eyes and ngl this was the scariest ride I’ve ever been on
This was my favorite ride of all time, I had so much fun I rode it 4 times, the mako 2 times, and the manta 1 time

I HATE drops. I HATE the feeling of falling. However I love rollercoasters with loopy loops and stuff. I went on this ride and LOVED IT! The drops are actually really small and it isn’t too fast👍🏻
I used to be that way, but after riding several roller coasters, I actually started to really like them.
I love this ride! My niece and I were laughing at each other the whole time!
The other three Floorless coasters that opened in 2000 are, Superman Krypton Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Medusa at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, And Dominator at the defunct Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom
People can disagree cause of where they live (home park bias), unique elements, etc.
But I'd honestly have to say this is probably my 2nd favorite B&M floorless coaster.
My favorite goes to the literal 1st, originally Medusa renamed Bizzaro.
They have different style drops, and one pulls out all the right stops-not too short, not missing anything.
Kraken has everything after the mid-course break run done in a unique and awesome way.
P.S. if you think Kraken is rough/not comfortable than please stay out of the lines so people can get on faster and don't ride any other coaster cause if you can't handle B&M you can't handle anything, thank you for your cooperation.

Memory lane. My family and I rode this coaster the very first summer it opened. A great and underrated coaster. We mini-marathon’d it cuz it was raining and ppl didn’t wanna get wet. Yea....rain, in FL, at Sea World, and ppl didn’t wanna get wet 😂😂. Their loss, our gain.
Anyhow, a great coaster with nonstop thrills. Very underrated.

Definitely give it a try, though it has gotten rougher in recent years. Personally I think Mako is a better ride, but this one's great too.

in my trip to Florida I rode over 20 roller coasters... those in the Universal parks, all of the ones in Busch gardens, Disney of course, but Kraken is still one of the most memorable ones.

Passholder at Seaworld for over 10 years now, and this coaster is my favorite one in Orlando. I just wish Seaworld could take better care of it, all those areas where you dip into the ground, or go into the dark originally had water and waterfall effects that made it look fantastic. Manta and Mako are also really good coasters, but Kraken still is my go to coaster if theirs only time for one.

I rode a roller coaster for the first time in 2020 this was the tallest I've ridden so far. I was so scared of this one but survived it. Also thank you for this POV I watched it before riding it and it made me feel prepared and terrified
