    Jazz pianist Sullivan Fortner is a GRAMMY Award-winning artist from New Orleans. He receives international praise as both pianist and producer for his collaborative work on The Window with multi-GRAMMY winner, the vocalist Cecile McLorin Salvant. As a leader, he has released Moments Preserved and Aria on CD to critical acclaim. Now based in New York, Fortner has earned recognition in multiple DownBeat Critics Poll categories, winning first place in Rising Star Piano and Rising Star Jazz Artist. Collaborations include Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon, Diane Reeves, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Nicholas Payton, and the late Roy Hargrove.
    Fortner has offered masterclasses at Manhattan School of Music, New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Purdue University, Lafayette Summer Music Workshop, and Oberlin Conservatory. His work and insights have been featured in The New York Times, and accolades include the 2015 Cole Porter Fellowship awarded by the American Pianists Association, Leonore Annenberg Arts Fellowship, the 2016 Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists and the Shifting Foundation Grant for artistic career development.

    1:05:22 anyone else catch that Tatum quote? From Elegy ruclips.net/video/aNAJlqn0nO4/видео.html (at 2:00 in on that recording) I could tell from the first time I listened to Sullivan that Art was a huge inspiration for him, you can really hear it in his style moreso than any other pianist I can think of.
