I’d recommend starting slow with building the crown back in the road if you don’t have a packer it will take you several years to get a road right id cut hard on your shoulder on both sides getting a big windrow then start laying that in to the centerline building your crown hope this helps thanks for the question and thanks for watching
The tiller is a very useful tool to have definitely speeds up the process and we have the same vegetation problem here we have our own mower so we mow it down short in fall making this work much easier thanks for watching.
What do you for blading when its super dry, like severe drought conditions, how do you blade then? We do not have water trucks at all so our ground just is what it is. Thank you
Do you have a video on how to take the crown down? I just started as a blade operator for my county, I never ran a blade before. The roads I deal with are so narrow and steep in the middle you feel like your tipping.
I don’t but I can definitely do it for you I’d recommend getting a crown gauge for your machine that way you know what kind of percent crown you have on your roads I figure you need a 1/2 inch of crown for every foot of road width hope this helps thanks for watching!
I can not float my ripper I generally put it down then when I can feel weight coming off my tandem’s I stop there you kind of got to play around with it to figure out how much pressure to use thanks for the question and thanks for watching!
@@graderman140m love the videos, have used them to better my knowledge on blading here in Australia-this style packer, do you have any preferences with this vs say a combo roller(single drum and single row of rubbers)?
We have knee high banks and just had 4 inches of rain just like a canal roads are flooded so bad you should come instruct our district would benefit LoL for sure
Great demonstration
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching.
Do you have a video of the tiller? Thanks.
I don’t but I will have videos coming of the tiller in the next month or so once I start my spring work.
quick question. if you were to start on a gravel road that is way off crown, like almost flat. how would you start to get your 5% back?

Great video as always. Could you possibly take a video on your tire fenders I need to build some for my m3 as well
I can do that if you’d like I could take pictures and email them to you also my fenders are the factory cat ones I really like them.
I wish we had a tiller that looks like it really does awesome job our problem here in sw ia is we have alot of vegetation that grows on top of road

I still do light maintenance blading when it’s really dry if roads get rough if there not rough I stay off them that’s what I do anyway

We dint get to see the rototiller 😢 we use a rock rake does a nice job
I will get video of the tiller in action this week thanks for watching.
Can you float your ripper? if not how much pressure do you put on the roller

Yikes that sounds like a mess that’s to bad hopefully they will get some training and start maintaining roads correctly
