I had a 2020 G80 I bought new. Loved that car, but had it's issues and the Hyundai dealer service experience was not great. It finally culminated in the engine being destroyed by a dealer oil change overfill. Genesis corporate and the dealer drug me through the mud and I went from being a Genesis fan to commited to never owning another Genesis in my life. Think of swapping you into a demo to replace the car they blew up with a demo Genesis that had 90% of the vehicle repainted, and they did not disclose it bad. Genesis will only ever be as good as it's dealer network, and it's dealer network is horrendous.

The shame is that they could easily have copied Lexus' business approach and built up a loyal customer base with a first rate dealer experience. But the dealer experience is hit or miss and the resale values reflect that and the uneven reliability.

Why isn't the title "Surpassing BMW, Mercedes and Audi?"

Genesis has absolutely killed it since they entered the market and they have only improved year after year.
Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, all Genesis cars are sold through Hyundai dealerships which have some of the worst reputations in the US. Once the honeymoon phase wears off and you start having issues with the car, the only thing that matters is the service you have to fix the car you tied up $30-$80k in. Getting lied to, scammed, dragged through the mud, etc ruins any experience no matter how nice the car is.
