The comments have been put on comment pending approval. I live in Portland, OR. I am 100% uninterested in hearing your hot takes about my city while you have no clue what's going on. If you came here just to say some stupid bullshit about BLM "rioters" and if you support police brutality and racism, you *will* be banned. You are not welcome here.
Ouch. I knew the almighty algorithm would serve me "relevant" content, but not like THIS. Interesting how you had to come all the way back, three years later, to clarify this statement.
Fun fact about this game, I was younger and couldn’t get M rated games, my grandmother (rip) went behind my parents back and got me this and Brothers in arms road to hill 30, a family friend saw me playing it and told my parents, both games returned the next day, only for my grandmother to buy them back a week later, with the rule of its only played at her house when I would go over and to hide it under her socks in a drawer. Miss days like that 😪 she was so cool!
I feel another reason this game didn't get much recognition was because the publisher was bought out by square enix and they perhaps didn't renew the contract with the developers
It's a shame you didn't mention the slow mo on demand thing in the game - where spinning the right analog stick quickly will change the colour of your aim reticule and your character will spin their gun. Then, the next kill will be in slow motion, with the satisfying sound of bones breaking as the person falls. There's also the nice interaction where you could shoot out lights.
Yeah man I used to love that so much. The thing that tipped me off about it was while in a loading screen there was some sort of hint that said something like "spin the right analog stick for some fun" and it was purposefully vague. But then it have you sick kills
I edited this video from 8pm-8am all night tonight! Along with taking 3 days or so to get all the proper footage, this review was a lot of work. If you enjoyed this video, be sure to like, comment, favorite, subscribe, and share the video around! Thanks for watching!
I felt the same way! Especially with that heavy *thunk-thunk-thunk* bullets made when striking the shield; called to mind the way Robocop shrugged off gunfire.
I remember playing this demo in Hitman: Blood Money, but unfortunately never actually got a copy of the game. Hoping to see if I can get one for my PS2.
I think you're confusing this game with another game just called urban chaos that had a dreamcast port. The two games are unrelated. Rocksteady would go on to make the batman games right after this.
@@Jarekthegamingdragon Are you sure? They're both published by Eidos and made by developers operating less than 50 miles away from each other. Trying to see if they had any similar staff too.
I was amazed by the ragdoll when i was a kid, usually dead body just drop dead with same animation all the time, this game was my first ragdoll experience
I'll admit I walked past this game multiple times in bargain bins and didn't pick it up because as you said it looks generic on the outside and Rocksteady as a name didn't mean much of anything until Arkham Asylum. Now I gotta hunt this down.
Thanks for a great review. I had the pleasure of working on this game as a senior artist. Nice to see my artwork again in all its glory. Not seen it for many years.
This video game completely marked my childhood, I was eight years old when I acquired my first PS2, Urban Chaos: Riot Respone was my first video game in the world of gamers. Team T-Zero will never die in my memory.
I've been trying to remember what this game was called, I remember G4TV was being reviewed, can't remember if it was EP, EO Daily, Reviews on the Run, or X-Play, regardless, I'm glad I found it's name 😂
Hey, I played this! Well, the demo at least. I remember it came in as an extra on the PS2 version of Hitman: Blood money (if my memory is correct). I played the hell out of it, really liking how it was. I tried getting when I was younger, but for some reason, my parents nor I could find a copy in Gamestop or anywhere, and that it costed a bit online. Finally got it years later, and I like it! Wish it didn't take so long for me to get it, but, what can you do?
I had a similar situation. I wanted to buy Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) so I could play it on my Xbox One. On Amazon, the game was upwards of $100! On E-Bay, the game was in the teens.
I fucking loved this! I didnt have it but I had it on a demo disk. The prison/jail level. I wanna play the full game❤ Also did he take down the playlist? I wanted to watch him play it😢
Wish this game had a PC port or something at least, enjoyed it back in the day and still wish my PS2 still works. I know I could run it on PCSX2 but I prefer it being officially being ported so i can buy it again and play through it again.
I had both the Xbox and PS2 version of this game, but I SWEAR this had special player death end scenes where if you died in the game, after a few seconds, either a ally or enemy would come up to you before the game faded out. I still have my PS2 copy, and for the life of me I can't seem to trigger an enemy death scene to appear. I can get the ally one though no problem.. Wonder if what I remember was an Xbox Only thing..
Dude you should totally review Cold Winter. Its an old ps2 game but it was SOOOO good. Like in order to make moltovs, you had to pick up bottles and gas and rags, same with time bombs and other gadgets. It was just a really cool game for the time. Looked decent too. You would love it. I would say review XIII but thats not really underrated as it used to be.

Absolute insanity all squished into a tiny box.
Idk if the youtube overlords recommended this to me for the irony based on current events or because I'm subscribed and this was one I hadnt binge watched haha
Lucky, I finally finished this game using the Aethersx2 (PS2 Emulator On Android) using Xiaomi 12 Pro and even though I have run into some frame rate issues (just on a smaller scale), Overall, I enjoyed this game due to how violent and gory it could be (maybe not on par with Gears of War imo) and even if the graphics is okay in today standards, at least the gameplay is the one that I can't get enough of it and I highly recommend if you really want to have a fun time after a hard and tedious day of work.
I played this game for hundreds, if not thousands of hours with my brother. Man i loved these times, and i appreciate you so much for bringing back these memories from my brother and me playing games as kids.
I really liked this game when I was a kid, the riot shield really made it different from the standard FPS-games :) Also I love how the bad guys main idea was to "Burn the city alive!" not on my watch.
Great fun review, i'm playing through this game right now and it's pretty great. It gets pretty intense at times and i was really impressed with how well the npc's follow you during escorts too, they never got stuck anywhere and it wasn't frustrating. Some more modern games can't even do that.

This game is really good. I truly miss it. I wish it got the hd remaster or was put on the Xbox Games with Gold. I mean they out up every star wars game, yet they can't put this on there? SAD!
I rented this back in the day and Im glad I did. On another note, how did you get it running on PCSX2? The 3 iso's Ive tried all crash after the 1st cutscene when you start a game. The main menu works just fine, but once the game starts the screen goes all green and the framerate drops to a smooth, steady, 3fps. P.S. tazing people after theyre incapacitated until they burst into flames was the best. Loved taking out gang leaders like that lol
I would say another criminally underrated game was State of Emergency 1 it was published by Rockstar. It was a ton of fun, especially in split screen. I remember finding violent ways to kill my brother as well as riot patrol officers, gangsters and innocent citizens.
Very fun game but it actually looks kinda rough and runs pretty badly sometimes on my PS2, which has no trouble running anything else. I don’t know what is going on, but what you’re showing is much cleaner visually than mine.
What I liked is you could get the cinematic camera on any kill by spinning the right stick (which also twirls your handgun). Actually useful in some parts because you're invincible during the slow motion.

Probably wouldn't go down too well since the rise of militarized warrior cops using 4th gen warfare tactics on civilians at home.

"YOU HAVE UNLOCKED...AN EXTRA PISTOL CLIP!"

"You gonna die Mason!"

no

T-Zero is just a modern cop today
The real gun politics to discuss in this game is somehow the 9mm sidearm somehow packing 50 bullets in a magazine of like 17
