Well... 2003 was also the year we got "Max Payne 2", a game which at the time was considered almost photorealistic. Heck, it even featured slow motion like "Chaser", but implemented with more care and love. Ugly human beings are forgivable. Ugly games have no excuse.

Hello again! Excellent review of another obscure game that I myself finished years ago. It came for free with a magazine and looked kind of fun at first - admittedly, I was young and welcoming of any free game. However, once again I couldn't agree more. Every single level felt bland and took forever to beat. The weird difficulty certainly didn't help. Even worse, the story completely left me behind eventually. I kept pushing on, wandering cities, frozen wastelands, sewers and the surface of Mars - only to find myself questioning: "Why am I doing this again?" I still remember that the last mission bugged out on me, causing some sort of sequence break - but it didn't matter. When the ending played, I had absolutely no idea what was going on. I just felt cheated because they pull that bothersome 'your character dies / loses in the end' prank. So none of the whole mess even mattered. It really is a shame, I feel that this game had some potential. Instead you are just traveling from location to location, waiting for something to happen that never quite happens. Fun fact: In the German version they gave the main character the voice of Bruce Willis. The actor does a fine job, but he sounded bored throughout the whole thing, as if there was nothing to work with. Oh wait, there was none.
Chaser seems like it's a game made out of leftovers from their other projects. In order to use all these random & very different levels & assets they had to fit them into some tangible story that would make sense of why these random levels exist in this game, hence the very strange & all over type of story. I kidd you not, that's exactly what happened.

From 2003 to 2004, yes that was a MASSIVE difference. 2003: OG Day Of Defeat, OG COD, Postal 2, The best looking game that year was probably Unreal 2. 2004: Far Cry 1, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Halo 2, the graphical leap was a canyon that year and graphics advanced MUCH faster in the 2000's than today.

Torrent I guess, that's how I got it
@@brianboniuk1072 yeah I was thinking that. It sucks GOG don't have it on there
@@PapaScho They don't have that, but have this mediocre Chaser game, makes you wonder...
I don`t know why?, but I loved this game, finished it like 4 or 5 times, even on hard difficulty, soundtrack is one of my favorites combined with atmosphere and gunplay. But i totally get it if you don`t like it.
I still cannot believe I had the patience to finish this shit... Of course, I had a visual walkthrough waiting for me when shit got too stupid. Otherwise, no way.
SEND OUT THRUSTERMAN
What about Devastation? It also came out in 2003 and looks very similar to Chaser, but it's maybe a bit better. I read about it in a printed videogames magazine back in the day, but never got the chance to play it. Another one is New World Order, which came in North America in 2003. It's also kinda bad. I remember playing the demo back in the day. It was only a multiplayer map, but the guns felt nice.
This game's greatest sin is putting a Dragunov-style scope on an AKS-74u Krinkov.
You should just go through FunHaus' library from back when they were Inside Gaming.
Can u do a rage 1 analysis
It's fps where I liked only the gameplay nothing else !!
The gunplay satisfied me and made me interested in the next id software FPS
Hey jarek, can u review Eat Lead. its a 3rd-person shooter that is very meta because everyone knows they are in a video game.
"the game doesen't look that bad for 2003" half-life 2 came out in 2004
And if you'll notice, 2004 is after 2003. I know, time is wild.
@@Jarekthegamingdragon it is, but by only a year, wich *isn't* a lot at all
From 2003 to 2004, yes that was a MASSIVE difference.
Yeah But Half Life 2 was..diferent..only Crysis in 2007
surpassed what half life 2 was
@@ghilliem.g.5824One year made a huge difference in graphics from the mid 90s to the mid 2000s
Ahhh.. Chaser. I've never played the campaign or owned the complete version. This game had a free multiplayer demo and I recall it was quite active. Used to play it a lot when I was young, then I switched to counter-strike.
Can you please review Grab The Auto 5?i heard its an amazing underrated gem.
TOM THRUSTERMAN!!!
So it's futuristic, but all the weapons seem to be modern
