    This video was GODSEND. It literally saved me on a 200 dollar service call. I would like to make one very important note on the repair however! In the video the drum is rotated counter-clockwise (if you are looking at it from the front) during the alignment. When I attempted this step, the belt kept popping off when I rotated it in the same manner. After TWO HOURS of trying to figure out what I was missing, I accidentally rotated the drum the opposite direction...the ACTUAL direction my dryer tumbles! Lo and behold there was never anything wrong. Turning the correct direction kept the belt on exactly where it needed to be! GREAT VIDEO!

    Very well orchestrated tutorial. I took the dryer apart, (which is always the easy part!) replaced 4 different parts, vacuumed and cleaned everything I could see and re-assembled the dryer. All by myself and with this video- (and just a few swear words in between) Thank you very much for the help!!

    This video is a lifesaver. My son and I were able to go step-by-step and replace the drive belt. There was a ton of lint in my dryer which we also cleaned out. The most difficult part was getting the belt on the pulley but the close-up on the video was extremely helpful. It took about 1/2 hour to complete and the dryer works! Thank you for your step-by-step instructions. I subscribed and like your video and hope others will do so as well!

    I'm out of town working and my wife told me the dryer quit working. She descibed to me she heard a loud popping sound and she even thought it was the belt. She was correct in that assumption. I went to youtube and found a very informative video from RepairClinic that showed a step by step video on how to replace the belt. Between her brother and father I'm sure they can change the belt by following the instructions from the video.

    "If your dryer panel turns on but won't spin first check if the belt is intact" - this was a great tip from our local appliance parts store guy. When our dryer won't spin I was planning on calling a technician who would have charged me nearly $200. Thanks to this video we replaced our belt with a $25 one and fixed our dryer. For whatever reason Samsung dryer belts are not of high quality - our dryer is just 3 years old and we already had problems. Previously we had Whirlpool basic dryer for over 12 years with no issues.

    Thanks for the DIY tech post...Such an easy quick fix...Soon as you take the top panel off you will see if the belt is broken or worn or still ok/working...I ordered a new belt off amazon for $7.50 shipped and got here in under a week..a phillips head screw driver is all I used and it took about 10 minutes start to finish...after watching this video it was really easy to get in there and get it none without a lot of troubleshooting,thanks again

    DV4006 Dryer. The instructions are slightly different then the steps for my machine but the 1655 belt is not the correct part. The belt listed here is about 92" long, the belt the DV4006 needs is only 78". Have done a bunch of research and I'm hoping the part number for the belt I need is dc66-00121a. Hopefully my local shop has 1 and I can confirm correct installation tomorrow.

  • @BarkeyBear

    I have this exact dryer. The problem I am having is the drum will not turn unless I slide the top back and I give the drum some help turning it clock wise and it then begins to turn on its own and will run until time runs out or I turn it off. What do you think the problem is?

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  9 лет назад

      BarkeyBear It sounds like the drum supports are worn or the motor is defective. We would take it apart and ensure the drum support rollers turn freely. If so, the motor is the likely culprit.

    • @SphynxKing
      @SphynxKing 8 лет назад

      Melted?...that's not good...Dryer fires are a big cause of housefires all over the country...I would be seriously concerned if you see any signs of fire/extreme heat inside your machine...and anything melted is NOT GOOD...I would call the manufacturer and talk to them...The cost of a new dryer is ALOT less than a NEW house...after it burns down...we lost a house to a house fire 10 years ago,lucky we didn't die...It was due to a faulty appliance or wiring...they couldn't determine exact cause...Take things like this serious friend...GL

    my samsung dv218ae had a quarter stuck in one of the fins. I tried to manually turn the drum to dislodge it and heard a pop from within the dryer. I got the quarter but I then was scared that I broke something. Sure enough, I tried to turn it on and the panel works, the timer counts down but the drum won't turn. Also no sound from a motor or anything. Does this sound like a belt problem? Was the pop I heard the belt breaking? Is there a way to see if the belt is broken without taking all of the panels off? I'm just wanting to get an idea before I break open a 3 year old dryer.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  10 лет назад

      The belt most likely came off the idler pulley. You can watch the belt video to see how to put it on. You probably have a belt switch that is keeping the motor from starting until the belt is put on.

    I am having a similar problem. but I pulled it apart and changed the belt even though everything seemed to be exactly how it's supposed to. I put it back together and I still have the same problem. it'll power on press the start button. it'll hum like it's trying to turn but I have to turn the drum by hand to get it to start and slam the door really quickly. then it'll work fine and dries really well. Is there a Capacitor on this dryer that could not be functioning properly?
