CEBU, PHILIPPINES - Welcome to Cebu, Philippines, and today we’re hanging out with my friend Kalami Cebu and going to eat at one of the most legendary street foods stalls - he’s known to be the fastest street food Chef in Cebu and he specializes in instant noodles and canned meat omelets.
When you arrive you’ll see a bunch of boxes of instant noodles that you can choose from and a few boxes of canned meats you can choose from. You choose whatever combination you want and then put your order in line. The day I went, we had to wait for about 30 minutes to make it to our order - it’s extremely popular.
He cooks omelets with canned meat and your instant noodles. It’s definitely simple, but tasty, comforting and extremely popular.

Yeah he may be fast and accurate, but what I love the most is his ability to remember every combination of each customer's orders despite he's cooking a lot of them simultaneously, and that's him being the only chef on a never-ending, very tiring line of orders. I think he worked on a professional kitchen before with all that skill he has. If he hasn't, then that's even more impressive.
Chef?? Lol
@@dadummylamok6691 chef lol, more like family reunion cooking

yes you're right his memory skills of combination of orders are awesome. You will pay after you eat. And weh you asked how much not even a second he already know.
@@dadummylamok6691 Your Name really suits you because it clearly shows that you’re naive about how the guy cooks and just to add something that his place is way better than the crap carenderias in Manila who has their gross and much worst ambiance except for the restos who sells their pricey foods on their menus😂🤣
Thanks for giving this hard working Filipino a spot in the limelight. Providing poor students with cheap meals is this man's calling. He deserves respect and admiration for doing what he's doing.
Its not cheap at all. The price is the same when you are eating in a fastfood store
@@hax0rbugan670 how much is he charging?
I could watch him all day!!! 🤣🤣🤣. Only thing hurting me is the can opener. He deserves better! 👍

Nothing's better than seeing just a simple man making an honest living. Seems like a good guy too. Keep going, kababayan.
I am from Sweden and I am telling you, for me Pancit Canton is my favorite brand when it come to regular noodles.
The Kalamansi and Chilimansi is awesone and just as the awesome cook you showed, i like to add to my noodles. Eggs, pepper salami, bacon. i even made a cheese version for an occasion that everyone loved.
Just want to say because this brand need respect, it is very good.
Me either. Im from Slovenia and I love eating pancit canton. My filipino friend is always giving me with different flavors whenever he comes back from philippines and Im inloooove with the pancit canton

The way he provides people in poverty with a show and giving them a quick meal, shows that this man is a legend
Yeah he’s actually making a good impact on the community and many people will remember him, unlike the average person on RUclips looking down on this man, judging him behind their computer screen and keyboard
It’s always heartwarming to see honest hardworking people get featured like this and take the spotlight even just for a moment.
nonsense, they can always get CHEAP part timers in the philippines
Lies again? He should had taught me how to cook noodles
The mind and body coordination is superb. His movements are so smooth and precise. Even though he's fast, he manages not to spill or be messy. Way to go angkol! Thanks for featuring this man Mark.

Mark!! I’m so happy you featured this place on your channel! I remember this became trending on tiktok when it was just starting. It really deserves all the recognition it now gets. It may be a simple and sort of unhealthy but damn the food taste great especially at night!
This guy’s speed and precision is insane, so much respect to him!
Definitely Filipinos are talented and great skills. Thank bro for featuring honest street food scene here in the Philippines. Hope to meet you someday on the streets brother.

Incredible! The speed and precision in these street food preparations are mind-blowing. The combination of instant noodles and canned meat in omelets is a unique and delicious twist. Hi i think its too late.. But thank you so much for featuring this man..
he really worked hard, to hassle specially for his child who had a special condition.
He really deserved a spotlight! ♥️
My heart for this type of people is really into them.. 😢♥️♥️♥️
I saw him featured on KMJS (a local TV show in the Philippines) for being organized and industrious in cooking instant dishes at the same time. I wish we can have someone like him in Davao for students and workers, especially call center agents.
I have to emphasize on the call center agents because we rarely have food stalls within an affordable budget, aside from 7-Eleven.
Used to live nearby. This guy's food was good and cheap. Glad to see him get recognition!
Salute to Kuya!
I too is a street ford vendor, I always appreciate people who makes honest business for a living. Even though the process and prepation is sometimes tough and tiring, but as long as you love it, it's something. You may not earn big amount of money, but your welfare is for customers and made them fulfill their hunger. Again, Salute Kuyang Chef!
Been to Philippines 🇵🇭 twice but that guy got skills !! Wow 🤩 great video Mark !! 🙏❤️
u know the food is good when:
1) its cooked by a guy who can use a jack like its a automatic can opener
2)a guy who cooks what i would call comfort food
3) just his Prescence makes me feel like he is a great chef at cooking this comfort food
4)uses a multipurpose tool just to cut food
He's really fast. I was amazed I went there the first time. He was the only one cooking with so many customers, but we didn't have to wait long.
It's so fascinating to watch him cook systematically.
Oh man, how long can that incredible guy go on before he burns out??!! Brilliant. 😮😮
Guys like that, when they stop they get sick. I should know, took me a while to get used to the slow pace of office work coming from heavy manual labor.
bro i love how he managed to be fast and precise without spilling / or getting hurt. need me a skill like that
I think someone should get him an electric can opener for Christmas, but he'd probably be like my wife and still use the hand one. He looks a lot faster than any electric can opener I've seen anyway. It would slow him down. Unless they have turbo ones out there. Great video Mark. It great that you feature hard working folks who feed hungry people for not much money. I'd be there before work once in a while if I lived there for sure. Right before I take my blood pressure pills. Lol
Electricity is crazy expensive in Philippines. He definitely won't use it
Students are away from home, he makes them feel wanted. Loved..cared for. That is always a winning way..Love ya' Mark!
People in the west eat instant noodles as a snack but in Asia we make em into actual full meals and I love that
This is actual skill tbh. Imagine managing three pans and can open up cans, whisk eggs all at the same pace without a single drop wasted. Even I still struggle to open up a can.
Very inspiring, walang tamad tamad basta masikap. Magkano lang puhunan nyan, skills lang and management ng pera, utay utay as long as you're learning while making your way out sa kahirapan. Good job!
I love mark wiens, you really appriciate filipino food🥰🥰
The chef is multitasking like a pro 🙌🏼
Does this mean I am a chef too since I can heat up noodles and meat loaf with egg?

That's a hard working man right there. Keep grinding.
Doing the same work at his speed, probably a couple of people can do it, but doing all those works at that speed consistently for hours? That's what make it really impressive!

The way he opened the can is such badass
The enthusiasm for instant noodles and an omelette being cooked well is insanity, I know a guy who can poach eggs and make toast, maybe you should check them out next ? 🤣😆🤣😆
Sometimes Foodies can be real try-hards.
And then there's the element of "bigotry of low-expectations" when they go to these countries.
Can that guy do it for 10 hours a day while keeping track of multiple simultaneous orders? I agree that none of this cooking is impressive, I could easily cook this up instead of buying from him. But the main point is his coordination is superb, especially because he's doing multiple tasks at a time back to back. Even just opening a can requires focus, imagine doing that while also keeping track of the orders.
Also, Filipino cuisine is usually well regarded. This isn't a case of low expectations in a poorer country.
@@thefreeden if you think that's impressive you must be special needs, that's literally as basic as it gets

the use of prehistoric canned opener make it looks its faster.
This is cool. I would have also picked the extra spicy noodles but I would have paired that with a can of Century Tuna Hot and Spicy. The canned meatloaf isn't spicy at all and has lots of extenders.
the filth from the AC above adds spice too

Kuya Osting might not know us but he's one of our food heroes (haha) during our stay in Cebu last 2019.
He has provided us the comfort foods (yes, those are just instant foods... but to us, those are the comfort foods away from home because we can't cook at our dorms) we craved through our review days. You can tell them how you want them cooked, and he delivers! And he remembers! Salamat, Kuya Osting!
These kind of street food sellers in the philippines are the best. Every one can afford them and its one of the reasons why the less fortunate and struggling people are still able to eat despite difficult living conditions. Not only does it help poor people, it also greatly help students who are in a tight budget or just looking for a cheap meal to get them through the day.
