This is the most legit Filipino street food vlog I’ve seen. It’s not in a food bazaar or a mall. You really went outside and tried what common Filipinos would buy in that area in terms of street food. As a Pinoy who loves street food, I really connected with Sonny on this one.
I agree. What I noticed from foreign food vloggers trying streetfood here is they find a bazaar or nightmarket and although I also like the food there, it can get crazy expensive compared to common Filipino streetfood. A stick of fishball can cost 60 pesos compared to the 2 for 1 peso you can get from an actual streetside vendor.
I love how you are not afraid trying out foods that you might have seen and heard just now. Thank you for visiting the Philippines and creating contents like this.

To make the vinegar you like this is the ingredients: 1.vinegar 2.sliced small cucumber 3.sliced small pepper 4.sliced small onions 5.(add a little bit of water) (optional) And mix it gently and there is it you own Filipino vinegar REMEMBER: NATURES SPRING IS NOT A VINEGAR IT'S A BOTTLE OF WATER THEY JUST PUT THE VINEGAR THERE!!!! 😊😊 Mix it gently and there you go
Not really for the kikiam, fishballs, squid balls etc the flavour will always come from the sauce with a hint of subtle differing flavour from them, the main thing the kikiam, fishballs etc provides is the texture. The kwek kwek is different though. Not talking about the ones with the vinegar though.
As a Filipino, the sauce is what matters the most for me with fried street food. Even if the fried food doesn't look and taste good, it's okay as long as the dipping sauce is perfect.

This is my first time watching this dude, well, I think it's my first time watching his channel. I like how he respects other cultures, doesn't judge. Americans are too quick to turn their noses at other people's culture and pass judgement. So yeah, much respect to this man
Sonny (the host) spent a good amount of time living in Asia, especially South Korea and Vietnam. I've been watching his videos for years, he's always respectful and pretty much knows how to express himself without either getting rude or patronising. He's by far my favorite Westerner food vloggers.
There are tons of noodle dishes in Luzon, no one has tried featuring them yet because they are usually obscure and only restricted to certain towns or regions. Sotanghon and misua are indeed quite popular though, at least in Manila and nearby provinces.

@@pietrojenkins6901 There's rather a thin line between what's hygienic or not when it comes to street food. A lot of foreigners won't even go near them, but most Filipinos don't mind. And, truth be told, hardly anything wrong happens to a person trying street food here, at least most of the time. It's best to have the knowledge like a local on what food to try or not. But honestly, a lot of Filipinos just try random street food that isn't at all hygienic, however; that's not to say we lack hygiene. In fact, Filipinos are some of the most hygienic people in the world, it's just that we really love our street food.
@@pietrojenkins6901 Filipinos are used to these, their stomachs can handle it. Also, need to adhere to the "hidden rule" that everyone who eats fishball or kikiam knows, don't dip your stick more than once on the sauce container.

It's actually "pinakurat" which is different from sinamak. Pinakurat is a quick mixture of vinegar, onions and crushed chilis while sinamak is somewhat aged for some days before using. In sinamak, chilis are not crushed but rather it is put as a whole and just let its juice blend on the vinegar naturally. And another thing, sinamak has peppercorns, garlic cloves and white ginger or langkawas as we call it in Visayas.

100 dollars is roughly 5600.00 and that's more than enough for street foods here!!! That amount can actually bring you to good restaurants here in the PH. Glad you enjoyed!
Glad you enjoyed some of our street food. There are still more to explore in the Philippines. Try the especialty of different towns here..you'll appreciate it more.😊❤
The cow fat he tried is my favorite! If there's a vendor nearby, you'll know right away because of the smell but the taste is very strong so I get it why it didn't pass his pallet, haha but it is perfect with vinegar. Also, I barely see anyone sell this now. He's right also regarding the sauce. Philippines' street food is really about sauces. If the vendor sucks at making one, you won't appreciate it. I'm a Filipino and I only buy from those I know who have a great vinegar dip or sauce.
I laugh out load after watching you promote "Nature's Spring" as a vinegar! It's sooo funny! It's very typical here in the Philippines to recycle pet bottles and put our condiments in it. It's like a low key prank for foreigners. Love it love it! I hope your channel explore more of the Philippines! I love watching your videos and your humor! cause he's obviously more picky than wiens, i've yet to see anything weins didn't like. This guy doesn't like at least one thing every single video, weins is a legend who gives light to hole in the wall places bro that's real shit

@@poloking29 I respect when people go to places that aren't well known to the world, but absolutely "loving" everything you eat is a bad look. It makes it look like nothing is even truly special to him. It comes off as super fake because Weins reacts the same exact way to everything he eats. No way in hell does any normal person do that.
Compared from your last Manila video, we can't deny that Manila, specifically Divisoria and Quiapo did some pretty glow up. Love this!
To make the vinegar you like this is the ingredients:
1.vinegar
2.sliced small cucumber
3.sliced small pepper
4.sliced small onions
5.(add a little bit of water) (optional)
And mix it gently and there is it you own Filipino vinegar
REMEMBER: NATURES SPRING IS NOT A VINEGAR IT'S A BOTTLE OF WATER THEY JUST PUT THE VINEGAR THERE!!!! 😊😊
Mix it gently and there you go
I'm loving Sonny's adventurous spirit, feels like I'm there with him! So inviting and full of positive energy
It's nice that ur back in our country.... It really warms our hearts that u r featuring some of our best dishes.....
It's not just really about the fried food or the sauce, it's always, and will always be the combination of both
Not really for the kikiam, fishballs, squid balls etc the flavour will always come from the sauce with a hint of subtle differing flavour from them, the main thing the kikiam, fishballs etc provides is the texture.
The kwek kwek is different though.
Not talking about the ones with the vinegar though.
Philippinian food is so unhealthy
i miss going back to the philippines . i miss to eat street foods
As a Filipino, the sauce is what matters the most for me with fried street food. Even if the fried food doesn't look and taste good, it's okay as long as the dipping sauce is perfect.
Dude i miss Manila alot, especially the carederias in Makati City near the YMCA hostel in Heart Road. Also Siargao Island is beautiful, and the food is actually sensational. Lots of fusion restraunts, and lots of local places(my favourite) visit Mamas BBQ, Altrove Tratorria, Bollocks Bar and of course Dapa Town boulevard BBQ. Brngy Catangnan in the surf town and surfing capital of the Phillies, General Luna. has plenty of street bbq, which have the best sauce ive tasted, ever. please try visit there! Thanks for this video bro its brought back so many good memories of the good ,friendly ,helpful people of the philippines. Also, Especially meeting my Philipino soulmate ( wife now hehehe)there . Cloud 9 joy.Salute my friend thanks again for the great content!!!!
This is my first time watching this dude, well, I think it's my first time watching his channel. I like how he respects other cultures, doesn't judge. Americans are too quick to turn their noses at other people's culture and pass judgement. So yeah, much respect to this man
Sonny is American but he lived in South Korea and Vietnam so he has tried loads of quirky foods
Sonny (the host) spent a good amount of time living in Asia, especially South Korea and Vietnam. I've been watching his videos for years, he's always respectful and pretty much knows how to express himself without either getting rude or patronising. He's by far my favorite Westerner food vloggers.
This the one of my best favorite travel food vlogger along with Mark Weins, not boring very intertaining❤
There are tons of noodle dishes in Luzon, no one has tried featuring them yet because they are usually obscure and only restricted to certain towns or regions. Sotanghon and misua are indeed quite popular though, at least in Manila and nearby provinces.
Dude, welcome back! Your first food vlogs on the Philippines we loved so much, now you're back. O, this is one heck of another super adventure with you! Thanks for coming back, have fun and stay safe and ecstatic!
It's actually not the food, it's the sauce and vinegar. Thank you for visiting the Ph again, Sonny! You're always welcome here🤍
While watching this vlog. I suddenly crave😋 . i Love your vlog ❤️
when it comes to filipino street foods sonny, its all about the sauce. If the sauce aint good, everything is not good.
What about the food hygeine/sanitation ?.
@@pietrojenkins6901 Filipino are so hygienic, u don't need to worry about it. I THIK IF U R THE SERVER I THINK I NEED TO WORRY. SA
The crispyness of the food and the sweet and sour taste of the food is the filipino style. Thank u for appreciating out food. BIG Thumbs up and Mabuhay to your Channel. Watching froom Abu Dhabi!!! "A PEACE!!!"
True that sauces adds flavor to street food. So fun to watch you eating streetfood in manila hope you can explore other places also,,,thanks for always visiting us🥰
whose gonna tell him that manila doesnt get snowy? hahahah. i really love ur videos! ❤
He knows that for sure, he's just joking. He has visited a lot of countries and he's aware that Philippines is a tropical country, thus it will never snow
Man, I love this guy. I spend my whole day watching this guy eat.

The vinegar with onions and chili etc . We call it *sinamak*
One of the "must have" condiment for a Filipino street food... 👍🏽👍🏽
2:27 Yes i have been in quiapo before (when i was 4 years old in 2019)
Hello! Thank you for featuring Philippines again! As you know, Filipinos are resourceful. Actually, Nature's spring is brand/company that sells mineral water. She just utilized the empty bottle to put spiced vinegar in it. I'm so hppy you enjoyed the spiced vinegar, sir! I hope you got full!
He was joking 🤣
Filipinos actually usmogs ahaha
0:55 the nails bruuh the nails the bacteria wahahahaha proud na proud of our kababayan that doesn't wear gloves . Thats why foreigners always criticized us ahahahhs we filipinos have bad reputation in foods just like india who doesn't use gloves also wahahahah
Dude this is actualy good seeing you enjoy Our Food and culture This really means alot to filipino like me so TY
Can we talk about how absolutely amazing sonny looks?!? I've noticed how toned your muscles and even your face has gotten and it gives me so much inspiration ♥️
Your so genuine and true sir. We love you.
Philippines is a really great country with 7000 islands.. each island has its own delicacies if you visit Philippines again try visiting Zamboanga City and i would suggest you to taste our very famous SATTI ♥️♥️♥️ Pastil it is really famous here in our city
in all of the bloggers that i've watched you have the best content i am a Filipino who grew up in slums that chicharon made out of beef internal organ was my favourite back then and the grilled dried squid, you are the complete definition of the world explorer from food and visiting places to onother and i am so happy because you know exactly what is to be watch by the viewers ❤️❤️❤️ sending love and support from the slums of tondo manila the life here is poor but adventurous haha ❤️❤️

Enjoy in the Philippines. Explore yummy and delicious street food ❤
Oh yeah that NATURE'S SPRING water bottle! Mabuhay ang Pilipino! ❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 Thank You, Sonny, for visiting Philippines, again. 😘
It's really about the sauce most of the time when it comes to fried street foods.
watching this brought back memories of what these tastes like because it’s been a decade almost of not eating filipino street food 🥺🥺
I love vinegar based food and Filipino food sounds like heaven to me damn
This guy is awesome! Eating and enjoying the filipino street food and showing respect in it.
LMAO we had a fishball cart near our office and they had some very awesome sauce. We kept on badgering the vendor to sell us a bottle of their sauce, but he won't give in.
Also... yeah, the fried isaw can be hit or miss. Even in the "franchise" booths, they can sometimes taste bad.
100 dollars is roughly 5600.00 and that's more than enough for street foods here!!! That amount can actually bring you to good restaurants here in the PH. Glad you enjoyed!
I think his $100 can buy him a street food cart. 😁✌
Filipino sounds like a friendly country. I would love to visit once in a while
like many others, my country is only friendly in select places, so choose wisely my friend.
Glad you enjoyed some of our street food. There are still more to explore in the Philippines. Try the especialty of different towns here..you'll appreciate it more.😊❤
I'm so glad you're back in the Philippines please visit Bacolod City and try their famous chicken inasal at manokan country 😊
"Processed Chemical Cheese Powder" Sonny is freakin' hilarious!
LMAO I'm dead 🤣🤣🤣
I'm here because of a Facebook post about Nature's Spring Vinegar😭😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I didn't know this is what they post in fb 😂😂😂
1:12 the kid behind 😭😂 shutaa
This is the REAL STREET FOOD of Manila, Philippines! Good Job Sonny! 😄😄😄 Mabuhay from 🇵🇭!!!
Ako din gusto ko yan kaya lang wlang ganyan sa bulacan😭
I love you man! Love to see you here in PH. Been watching you for years
I laugh out load after watching you promote "Nature's Spring" as a vinegar! It's sooo funny! It's very typical here in the Philippines to recycle pet bottles and put our condiments in it. It's like a low key prank for foreigners. Love it love it! I hope your channel explore more of the Philippines! I love watching your videos and your humor! I even promote your channels to my officemates and family members! More POWER to this channel and to everyone behind it!
I can relate to the sauce hunt. I've been eating a simple breaded quail eggs but with the most delicious vinegar and sweet and spicy sticky sauce combo in one of the food stalls in the mall. Cant get enough of it. Yum!!!
I laughed so much when you said “when manila is freezing,i want you to know even December here its still f*ckinly hot😂

Sonny the one food that has violet and cream color is called Nilupak, and it is actually made from boiled cassava not potato. Anyways, it's good that you're back here again in Philippines!! ❤️❤️
that is sweet potato or camote.
@@guiaborja5768 it's cassava or kamoteng kahoy and those two are different especially in texture. Cassava or kamoteng kahoy is kind of chewy while sweet potato or kamote is soft.
boiled sweet potato or a different variant of banana called Saba..
