    It wasn’t ours.
I called Amazon and suggested they come back and get it and deliver it to the correct home.
    Amazon told me “keep it”.
    Ummmm…
My response was not pretty. I said “why would I keep something that isn’t mine?!? Come get this package.”
Again - Amazon told me to keep it. I hung up on them.

I drive intermodal (rail containers) for a major trucking company. They often come off the train with the seals broken or paperwork (bills)missing. @@Americanlightingandfixture Feds Property..? How far did your hand travel to retrieve that anally retracted answer? Has nothing to do with the "Feds" - Shipments tendered to Union Pacific Railroad for transport are the responsibility of the railroad to ensure cargo reaches it's destination safely, damage and theft free. All of the major railroads have their own police department tasked to handle and solve these crimes and ultimately the art of prevention is key. Sadly, however, as seen here, prevention is nonexistent so the next course would be to put a stop to it and put more safeguards into action to make it harder for people to simply break into the containers. Guess what? Trains and their cargo are sitting ducks and way too easy of a target and neither Union Pacific nor the other railroads want this to be broadcast because there is not much they can do other than offering weak statements about how they're aware of the problem and are working with local law enforcement to put a stop to it. The reality is that cargo theft has been around since day 1 for the railroad and not much ever gets done to stop it. When a place gets too hot the thefts may die down but the problems just moves on somewhere down the tracks or reappear after a few months have passed. Union Pacific lets the insurance cover the loss and they stay tight-lipped and hope the story is forgotten after a week or two.

Each county sheriff has authority over everyone, even over the FBI. We need to do away with police departments, but keep the officer and out a deputy badge on them and let each county have a sheriff’s department, and that’s it. No mayors telling police chiefs to tell their guys to let some stuff go. Take the moneys set aside to the cities to pay those officers and transfer it to the county to pay the same officers in a different uniform. That would solve a lot of issues. So anything that happens on that county, the sheriff should be running the investigation.

Nah, that’s just part of his disguise.
When I had material stolen off of a job construction site on multiple occasions, we set up ‘game’ cameras. Sure enough we did capture images of the thieves. There was 3 of them, all wearing work clothes like coveralls, fluorescent vests, hard hats, etc.
Found out that an electrician had happened upon them by chance, but they had a cover story that he believed and they were dressed the part. So he said nothing, not until he saw the video portions and heard about the thefts.
*when they did finally get caught, it was only by fluke. They’d gotten their truck stuck! Driving in the dark on what looked like flat ground, but instead it had been trenched for supply lines.
So once the truck was tracked down, thief 1 was caught. And he wasn’t very bright, he gave up the other 2 fairly quick the cops told me.

My package got delayed in Sacramento, then actually got rerouted to Ohio ?? Now it's supposedly hung up somewhere in Ohio, just "sitting around"? No one is going to send a package BACK to Ohio when it was so close in Sacramento. It's now Nov 30 and there's no knowledge of where it is. Can't help but wonder if this stuff is a part of it.
