    As a railroad conductor and also a firearm owner I can honestly say that this is pretty common. It happened here in Chicago more than once. Ive always said that firearms or any dangerous weapons should be followed by armed guards and also Put tracking devices on the firearms until it reaches it destination. Problem solved. But again this is why people from the “ghettos” of America always saying that the government is dropping off guns in the neighborhoods. Even though I know it’s just the criminals stroke of luck that they find the correct containers, it’s definitely making it seem as if their narrative is true. Could’ve been an inside job as well. To my knowledge, some railroads allow their employees knows what’s in each container and other railroads don’t allow their employees to know what’s in the container. If it wasn’t anything hazardous or some kind of food products, everything else would be labeled miscellaneous so no one knows what’s in it.

Studies show that a good education and a good job keep people away from crime. Yeah instead of making sure that the education provided across the Nation is of a good standard, they have allowed it to get worse and worse year after year. Instead of forcing employers to offer living wages, they allow CEOs and shareholders to hoard massive amounts of wealth that they do little to nothing to create. The working class is holding up this country, and simultaneously being left behind.

      In California they have gotten rid of petty theft as a crime you can forcibly stop and they have gotten rid of many fines and penalties for trespassing.
      You could literally walk into Target and grab an $800 TV off the shelf and walk out. Target is not allowed to stop you and if police get involved the person will be released. But they won't get involved, because it's just a waste of their time.

      Pump action, break action, single shot… you literally picked the gun type that is least likely to be semi automatic to argue that news stations saying anything more descriptive than “crackle-crackle boomstick” has some kind of hidden agenda to it.

      @@tetrabromobisphenol You apparently don't know that doesn't change the designation of the gun. They're both considered "semi automatic" which is a ridiculous term that just means that it's not an automatic gun. Automatic guns only require on trigger pull to let out multiple rounds.

      Umm no.. A semi automatic shotgun fires by gas blowback operation as opposed to a pump or lever action shotgun which fires by manual manipulation. They are not the same in name or function.

    Here's an idea! Make the railroad company liable for the goods they are shipping. They are sure to up security real quick. Right now they don't really seem to care that hundreds of thousands of products are being stolen regularly. They should be forced to cover the cost of the missing products. The shipping of the products and the replacement and shipping of said products replacments.

    The L.A. police department has absolutely no authority on those tracks and they can't stop this from happening.
    This is entirely the responsibility of the Union Pacific railroad and as your reporter pointed out, even after hearing guns have been stolen, Union Pacific refuses to step up security.
    This isn't the only place where train theft occurs in the country either.
    There are literally thousands of places where trains with cargo just sit while crews are changed.

      That’s a BS lie. Of course LA cops can stop this. If a crime is happening on a property cops can step in and stop it, they dont have to wait until they can find the property owner and ask for help. What is Union Pacific security going to do? Have a shootout with robbers? Employees have been instructed by the local government to call the police. The police aren’t empowered to do this because of the democrats.

  • @clocksurfer
    @clocksurfer 2 года назад +5

    Well, I definitely wouldn't want to live in California, where a law-abiding citizen like myself can find it difficult to legally possess firearms in a desirable configuration for self defense, while criminals can still clearly do whatever they want with firearms and possibly get away with it. Can this particular railway security problem be solved with law enforcement and security measures? I'm not sure it can. Can we build a better society from the ground up, preventing motivation for opportunistic crimes like these? Possibly. Maybe. But that doesn't jibe with the daily desires of the rich and powerful.

    Consider using National Guard to protect cars. With supply chain problems as they are, this is a very bad situation. And with guns, a public safety issue.
