I really don't understand why Pete Buttgieg is not being put forth by the Democrat Party for president. The guy is brilliant, well spoken, funny and relatable. The only down side is that unfortunately many voters wouldn't be able to handle the fact that he is gay. But that shouldn't matter. Because he is such a great speaker and is incredibly intelligent. He'd absolutely eat Trump alive.
I guess what we can take away from this interview is that Pete Buttigieg should be the Democratic candidate to run against Trump.

I voted for Pete in the Primary in 2016. He was my first choice in front of Biden. The man is brilliant, eloquent speaker, moderate, logical, common sense, decent and caring. He has served his country in the military. I couldn’t care less about his sexual orientation, as most educated people under 50 probably do not either. But there are still enough out there which this might be an issue, but he doesn’t fit the stereotype, so who knows. His intelligence, eloquence and compassion is sorely needed right now.

I wish Pete Buttigieg was running for president! I think our presidential nomination system is archaic, in that we continue to nominate the current president whether he/she is competent or not. There are several other excellent candidates for this office, who also refuse to campaign for the nomination out of respect for Biden.
I think Biden has done a lot for this country in his term so far, and I'm glad he got his chance at the presidency after all these decades. But I don't believe he is capable enough on his own to be president again. He would have good advisors, but he needs to be the leader in decision-making, and to be the leader of the free world, and I think it's just too late for him.
Personally, I would like to see an articulate, well informed statesman/woman with a solid grasp of both domestic and foreign policy, respected by the majority of Democrats, who can represent America.
We have other very solid candidates who could step into the nomination slot with barely a ripple.

Who cares "how quick" a president is? Besides, you are trying to compare two entirely different situations that have nothing to do with being president. Pete didn't have anyone challenging him either. Neither of those situations has anything to do with doing the job of president. One situation that you can learn a lot about what kind of president someone would be is how they did when they were the actual president. Biden crushes Trump when each of their presidencies are compared. It's not even close!

He's such a charismatic speaker and debater, and those are two hugely important qualities to have as a presidential candidate. Unfortunately, since a large percentage of the US is homophobic, he would automatically lose a presidential election.
But sadly I don't think the US is ready to vote for a gay president. I still remember when a lady demanded her vote back after she found out that he was gay. Many people are still narrowminded like that today.
