"Every river is different, that's why you have to paddle them all." Amen brother! You are doing your best to put a large dent in the list. Thanks for taking us along on another great Yukon adventure Jim.
I’m a big fan. Glad to be the first to like your video. I was actually watching your artic trip with buck. We love your family Wes is then man we love Huddy be safe my brother
Fantastic climb - not danger-free either! You could easily twist your ankle on that scree. Congratulations on reaching the summit. I don't want these installments to end. Great camera work too. Thanks for taking us along. Best, Joe from the lower 48.
You’re very welcome! Thanks a lot for tuning in. It was a great trek. I was carrying some extra provisions so that if I had to spend the night on the mountain I could. Some first aid stuff as well. There is always some sort of risk though.
As a mountaineer that got into white water kayaking and now back to more general wilderness adventuring of any kind, I'm loving this episode. I love your main canoe travels, but it makes this different perspective even sweeter. Keep up the adventuring Jim, I pretty much use youtube to solely watch your videos these days. Reliable down to earth adventure with some great craic :)
I was holding my breath for your “yeaaaaah” when you reached the top of the mountain 😆 Amazing episode, loved the hike ❤️ Your videos are awesome, thank you for actually living the dream of many of us 🤩 You da best 😊
I can feel my ankles burning from walking up all that loose rock. We had stuff like that on the railroad tracks called ballast. 3 and 4 inch rocks that would just jiggle a little when you walked on it. After 8 hours the ankles just felt hot. I'd bet the smoke didn't make the hiking at altitude any easier either. Thanks Jim.
Man...when you got to that ridge line it was just wow...no proper words to describe the natural beauty. Thank you so much for sharing with some of us who would love to do what you do but can't. Wish they would give us something besides 1 like button lol. Stay safe brother
Bobby would be impressed with that highest of high quality H2O. 😆 Man, that was quite a treacherous climb. It looked sketchy and super steep. And the camera doesn't usually convey just how steep it is so it must have been pretty crazy at times. That had to be an amazing feeling to get up to the top and take in the view. Bonus Mountain Goat sighting as well. Awesome. Glad the trip down went without any problems. Really enjoyed this. Thanks Jim!
Amazing man! There’s so much that could go wrong doing this but I so admire your fortitude for seeing it through! Have really enjoyed this series of videos from you! Places on Earth that not many people have been to and so many of will never get to! But you brought us along. So in a way, we did get there. Thank you!
Takes me back to climbing Tin Cup Mountain in the St Elias Range back in 2007! The views from the top of any mountain in the Yukon is AMAZING! Thank you for taking me back... great video & series so far! loving it!!
I’m so glad you take a little extra time to see some of the beauty of the land instead of pushing, pushing pushing …good job, it’s a joy to watch and go along
Can't begin to tell you how good it was Jim, being with you on this one. But then, I feel like that watching every episode. So glad you found those blueberries. Awesome filming as per.
I don't understand why they have a "dislike" button on these vids ... LOL Absolutely epic, awesome, thanks for sharing your adventures, we love to tag along, so to speak. Places we'll never see are so well explained, shown, documented... just wish I could make it...👍🦊😊🐒
The water is nice and the mountains are ok too, but we're all here for the porridge. On my giant modern tv your cinematography is spectacular, what a place!
Thank you Jim for this wonderful journey, your adventures are so appreciated. That truly was a magnificent view from atop of the summit, even if it was a bit hazy. Loved it, looking forward to day seven and to what’s ahead.
Jim, I LOVE all your videos. This trip is becoming my favorite. I appreciate and enjoy your teaching and sharing your rationale for certain actions or lack thereof. Your video quality is amazing. My adult boys need to canoe the Yukon...thank you so much for your hard work and taking us along vicariously. World-class work! Thank you.
Great ridge line traverse. Why do we do it? Challenge? Adventure? Beauty? Perspective? It’s in our DNA! I pity the soul that stays in their comfort zone their entire life. Love your adventures!
Amazing...ive always hoped you would summit one of those mountains. Yukon reminds me of a much wilder version of montana. Incredible to think all of north america was once pristine. I'm glad this watershed is protected from development/resource extraction
Love this one! I’m more of a hiker myself, and always go to the mountains (White Mnts NH USA) , watching you go up that scree… voice in my head says “I don’t think we should go this way, Jim… it’s gonna suck…” Nothing beats that exhausted feeling of making it home after having climbed a mountain, even a small one.
Yikes, sketchy/scary hike but good for you Jim!! Gotta love your "can do" spirit 💜 Pasta looked yummy but crying out for Parmesan 😋Looking forward to the rest!! B
You are an animal JB! What a excursion up that beautiful mountain. I know you are super careful, but it would suck to get hooped out there all alone. I guess that's why it's called adventure! Thanks for sharing with us!
Dude!!! Love the exploration of the area in addition to the the river navigation! A great mix of adventure!!! Great stuff!! Thanks so much. Be careful out there Jimbo!!!
Poop looked like pika poop. Looks like Dall sheep at 18:39? Maybe not mountain goats. Nothing better than a ridge walk! Worth the effort for the views and the flowers. Gorgeous country!!
0:30 when we make oatmeal we first brew an apple cinnamon(peach is also good) or similar tea bag, then we use that flavored water to make the oatmeal...
See, this is why i watch your channel. I have climbed mountains like that, and you and i both know how easy it would have been to just say...hey, ive gone far enough. But whats makes us different is, we keep going. Great job bro, that was tougher than you thought..? Like ive said before... whens the Artic crossing? Maybe Antartic?
I’ve never seen that much marinara to pasta ratio in my life! Shame you couldn’t spend more time on that ridge line, freaking amazing!! Ready for the next episode.
Thanks for making the climb Jim. What a view! It's been a couple of years since I've been in the backcountry. These epic trips you make are a great reminder of just how lucky we are to have these experiences always available to us.
Thanks a lot Tom, I don’t think you’re technically aloud to recreationally in the Peel watershed protection area but even if you did and you found some, you couldn’t steak a claim there. I’m my last Yukon trip I did a lot of panning and found some gold which was super exciting but my back hurt after nearly 30 hours of panning so this time, I decided it would be better to spend more time exploring the area on foot and fishing.
@@JimBairdAdventurer Hi Jim, I understand that 100%. I know your main channel is adventure. And I have the highest respect for what you're doing out there. Just the consequence, I think last year, of having to carry your equipment, boot, 8 km through the forest... WOW... great content. I'm just a little gold panner. Here in Germany there are only small gold glitter like flying pups. But it's what you make of it. I wouldn't have any view of exploiting that either. No claims to be made. But I like the idea of swinging the pan in such an area, fishing (even if I can't kill any fish) and experiencing what you show. You can simply look for wood on the beach, make a rotary grill with a string and watch the chicken spin over the fire, powered by the water. I keep catching myself thinking about going on a little boat trip with my kayak for a day or two and sleeping on the shore. That's why I'm devouring these episodes of yours. Stay healthy. Great adventure... Greetings to your family. May the dark clouds (Ukraine, Israel and anywhere else) over people disappear again...
You already surprised me yesterday with that picture of you and Ted taken, I assume, after your Alone victory. Your videos are always entertaining and educational. Keep them coming. PS - if you would do more singing, you wouldn't need to carry bear spray or a shotgun.
Great trek ! Just that I don't go for your dinner ! But then, " Hunger is the best sauce !" I am enjoying your adventure. I lament the tiny dot I live on. Regards. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
Ok : you brought back so many beautiful memories, I visited the Yukon a few years ago. I few to Edmonton,Alberta Then from there flew onto Whitehorse,; then drove to Dawson city Yukon, The Yukon is very beautiful The N.W.T. : the Yukon! Thank you for sharing this beautiful part of Canada 🇨🇦.
Another great episode Jim. I enjoyed the side jaunt and your thoughts about stopping to take in the country you have been paddling by and the connection you feel to those people who were there before you.
I wish you had a scree walking stick…having hardened wood with a special tip….my one brother saved his life riding a scree run down a mountain that gave way…on his stick like a horse ….thanks Jim for this whole experience…..
Awesome! I was getting tired just watching you climb that mountain but the views are all worth it. Thanks for bringing us along. Excited for the next video.
Thanks for tuning in! Please let me know what your favourite part of this video was.
I like it all😂
Was North not a thought on this one? Great trip, loving it all! Thanks Jim
I was hoping you’d run into Foresty Forest while climbing the scree.
eating spagetti lol, you made it look good. you must have been starved. great vid Jim
Well, since you asked, I love best ...the end of the day, the camp set up, cutting wood, reflecting, cooking, eating, bed time, extend those times.
"Every river is different, that's why you have to paddle them all." Amen brother! You are doing your best to put a large dent in the list. Thanks for taking us along on another great Yukon adventure Jim.
The greatest adventure series on youtube. Thank you so much for filming this.
I knew you were hardcore, but climbing that mountain in the middle of nowhere was next level amazing!
Jim, I love how you reflect on the history of the land and people as you travel. It’s awesome storytelling and shows appreciation. Thank you!
Makes my lungs hurt just watching you climb in that smoky air. But glad you did it and took us along! ❤
Thanks a lot! I didn’t really notice the air quality getting to me but I imagine it made some difference
Knowing the satisfaction that you had on that climb was my favourite part, I know the feeling.
I’m a big fan. Glad to be the first to like your video. I was actually watching your artic trip with buck. We love your family Wes is then man we love Huddy be safe my brother
Awesome! Thank you!
Climbing a mountain in the middle of nowhere and all alone. What can go wrong? You're the man, Jim! Thanks for taking us on this adventure.
Thank you for uploading these magnificent landscapes for us to enjoy. Canada truly has some of the most beautiful landscape on Earth.
Seeing the Ewe and her lamb on the mountainside was epic
The Budnick brothers comment had me dying. Hope you and Xander collab soon

Awesome episode! Both ascending (pretty inspiring) and descending the mountain provided great scenic venues. Thanks Jim

That mountain would be cool place for snowboard in the winter!

Lol. I hope you do paddle them all Jim. And take us with you. Thank you. Great stretch of river and mountain climb.

My ancestors have been depressed since the Battle of Culloden!! 👍🇨🇦😎 mmmm pemmican. AWESOME perseverance video 🙏💙 Hello Tori and the boys!
The Waterboy. Classic.
You are an animal JB! What a excursion up that beautiful mountain. I know you are super careful, but it would suck to get hooped out there all alone. I guess that's why it's called adventure! Thanks for sharing with us!
IMHO, Jim Baird, you are the epitome of the noun ADVENTURER! 👍👍
Dude!!! Love the exploration of the area in addition to the the river navigation! A great mix of adventure!!! Great stuff!! Thanks so much. Be careful out there Jimbo!!!
What a great adventure walking to the top of the mountain. Great video as always
Yeah! There it is, the oatmeal quote!
I love summiting, and I loved watching you do it aswell on this journey. 👍
Spectacular mountain climb!
Great adventure and such beautiful views. Those mountain goats would be near my favorite in this one. ❤
Poop looked like pika poop. Looks like Dall sheep at 18:39? Maybe not mountain goats. Nothing better than a ridge walk! Worth the effort for the views and the flowers. Gorgeous country!!
Definitely Dall’s Sheep. I had an editor cut this one while I was a way on another trip and he used the working audio.
0:30 when we make oatmeal we first brew an apple cinnamon(peach is also good) or similar tea bag, then we use that flavored water to make the oatmeal...
Great video as always!
Amazing! Your body must have been screaming at you climbing in that terrain. Love witnessing the adventures you take us on.
Favorite part.. Watching you eat breakfast and lunch 😊 and spaghetti right out of the pot😋
Epic & tough hike Jim! Well done pushing through a hard day.
Thanks for taking us with you!! I didn't get out of breath at all during the climbing. 👍

Nothing more reliable than a Coleman stove 😊
Determination and some planning =success.
Jim you inspire so many people! Thank you from the heart
My favorite part was the change of pace for this video. Glad to see you enjoying the extra time you had this year. I have had trips cut short too. 🥳
Nice nature shots, thank you Jim. I'm sure it was tiring. Of course I would have preferred to look for gold if it was allowed there.
Greetings Tom

Breathtaking scenery! Loved the goats too❤❤
Thanks a lot, that was really cool. They’re actually Dall’s sheep but I had to hire an editor to cut this vid as I was away and he mixed up the audio.

It relaxes me to watch these videos, I can hear the water running, it's very sedative, I like it!!
Great trek !
Just that I don't go for your dinner !

Wow! I’m not sure I would have climbed up all that scree, but you’ve proven able and tough enough to get it done.
Thanks a lot
Another great episode Jim. I enjoyed the side jaunt and your thoughts about stopping to take in the country you have been paddling by and the connection you feel to those people who were there before you.
Fantastic video, really enjoyed watching these adventures
Great job on the climb and navigating on top, i would have been eyeballing for horns in the scree but, all in all beautiful trek to the mountains!
Love ur humor 😊and videos ❤from Michigan
Awesome Mountain Hike Jim! 😃👍🥴
My favorite part is when you got drinking water from a creek of the mountain. Good video. Thanks for taking us along.
That’s quite a hike Jim, enjoyed the views… cheers

talk about ankle snapping terrain.......I'm glad that your trek all worked out well, that looked pretty dangerous. So beautiful, and cute goats too!
Your an absolute beauty. The type of guy you’d enjoy drinking a beer with around a fire. 👍🏻👍🏻
