Yeah, Bayonetta is a title in some timelines now. Viola was given the title of Bayonetta at the end of the game so them saying Cereza confirms it's our Bayonetta and not Viola which a lot of people were concerned about. I was one of those people.

He said “stories”, meaning that Origins won’t be the only story of Cereza we’ll see. If PlatinumGames meant only Origins, they would have likely said “story” instead. Hell, maybe one of these stories will be a manga lol

YES YES SO MUCH TO BE HAPPY ABOUT! I think they realize now that Bayonetta 3 is their chance to elevate this series to the next level and swapping the main character is NOT the play now. I think they wrote the story the way they did in case they still didn't sell well with 3 they could try a different mc and see if that sells better but now they have PROOF they shouldn't do that!
@@johtojonny I don’t like that argument of killing Bayonetta at the end of the game because it don’t sell well. Bayonetta series will always have its fan base regardless if the series sells well or not. Nintendo and platinum games are happy with the sells of Bayonetta.
From what I'm gaining from this is that, bayonetta will be used as a catch all term for both viola and cereza. Cereza will probably still play a big role in the series.

GuardTower there was no reason to believe that, that was the case. (At least before the announcements of bayo 4 being in dev) bayonetta was a named she used after she had lost her memories, she had no idea her real name was cereza. She was also technically dead at the end of 3. (Well maybe not, since her soul is probably wandering Inferno, but it's not specified if she can return to the realm of chaos without her body) So taking all of this into consideration, it's no wonder why people actually believed that the bayonetta franchise would be about viola instead of cereza, at least for the time being. But of course we now know that viola is just an addition to the cast rather than a replacement.
I hope Bayonetta comes back, because for such a badass woman who had to wait EIGHT years for her third game to come out, only to be supposedly killed in the end. She deserves so much better...then THIS.

Pretty sure Bayonetta 4 will come out in 2030 (8 years) the latest.
PG always develops a new Bayonetta game for each new Nintendo console and with the new Nintendo console coming out in 2024, it’ll last 7 years as well up until 2031.

i doubt bayo 4 will take anywhere near as long, bayo 3 only took long as it was almost remade into a new game. Story and gameplay... it was meant to be open world before
The fact that they say Cereza means not Viola. Which don’t get me wrong I enjoyed Viola as a character(not the gameplay so much) but the fact that we will get Cereza back means her story isn’t over. Or at least alternate versions of her stories aren’t finished. So I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

Tbh i also want Viola in the new game too i loved the way you always Switch Characters in the Game, it made the Gameplay so fresh.
Honestly, the ending to Bayonetta 3 was kinda shit: the final boss fight had like 35 climaxes (story climax, not the gameplay mechanic lol), the villian had absolutely no reason or motivation to be doing what he was doing and Luka's plotline wasn't really explained (also they threw a boss fight after the credits, like, whyyyyy)

Kind of dissapointed that our Bayo is like an incarnation of eve when it would make more sense if she was an incarnation of Lilith. Since Lilith was considered the first mother, mother of demons. So it would make sense if Lilith was granted the left eye of Darkness seeing as it's associated with hell and the demons.
But Adam and Eve were the first humans. Lilith was not human. The Sages and Witches were the first humans to inherit The Eyes. And Sigurd needed the Eyes to see through reality and access the multiverse.
Queen Shiba and maybe another Demoness could’ve been the first demon to give rise to Inferno, though.
@@sirensong237 Depends on which scriptures you look at and it's up for debate. It just would have made more sense with Bayonettas constant teasing and comical rejection of Luka. Plus how powerful she is as well with her control of demons and connection with inferno.

Probably. There can only be one Bayonetta, usually. And the other named Umbran Witches, of various covens across the series, don't have such a weird name as Bayonetta.
I just hope they give volia a new look, I loved bayonetta due to her sassy attitude, sexy poses and outfits, cool moves. Volia is literally the opposite, clone to DMC.

See, to me this was obvious from the ending and the implications spelled out in the character bios and stuff, bur apparently most players just didn’t look that deep into it.

I had the ending spoiled for me before I even bought the game (in the middle of bayonetta 2) and I was actually fuming. Thank the lord that fake Bayonetta (viola) is just a side character and the the real actual Bayonetta is returning in 4.

I’m not convinced they’re talking about Bayonetta 4. They could just as easily bc talking about the Bayonetta Origins game…hell, they could be making a series of Bayonetta origin games for all we know. Everything is speculation until the devs are ready to make an announcement

Also he may have said stories, but that doesn't mean bayo 4. Viola could still be the main protagonist and cereza could come in like Dante from dmc 4, also cereza got her own spin-off game (which wasn't previously mentioned among the spin-off list). My point is that just because a spin-off is planned it doesn't mean that you should count the character out the main line, Viola could get her spin-off after being the fourth game's lead.

I thought about that too. We've only ever heard of one Lumen Sage. They're supposed to be the Umbra Witches' counterparts in every way but we don't know any beside Balder. I'd love to explore that part of the lore

Honestly, for the daughter of Bayonetta, I was expecting something else. I thought Bayo would have something like Stocking from Panty & Stocking for a daughter. I'm not saying Viola was bad, I just didn't love her as I do Bayo. Bayo is fun not because she's a sexy woman who fully embraces her femininity, but because of her confidence, grace, and clever one liners at the expense of the bad guy. always keeping that smile on her face even with the most dangerous of enemies are present. yes, I know Viola can't be the same character and needs to be her own person, but I wouldn't have gone in the direction with her character that we got in the end. again, when I think of a daughter of Bayonetta, Stocking comes to mind. a goth girl who's no stranger to foul language but likes to dress up in pretty outfits and treats demons and other monsters like losers. but this is just my opinion.
So I'm hoping Bayo 4 will keep Cereza as the main character.

It doesn’t matter who’s called ‘Bayonetta’, they would never make a direct sequel to Bayonetta 3 without Cereza. Even if Platinum Games wanted to move away from the character, Nintendo simply wouldn’t allow a direct sequel without their newest, most popular adult-themed character.

If it is anything other than the main protagonist then it is nothing but bullshit, although, Bayonetta may be a title or moniker but it will forever be linked with Cereza and it should not be degraded like some meaningless nickname. Come on, have some respect for the context and essence of the character for once. If the title is used to defined other Umbra Witches like Viola then that is fine but the original characters like Cereza and Jeanne must remain as the primary heroines, and not as mere secondary supporting figures or worst still cameos in the next Bayonetta instalment. We don't need another multiverse storyline like 3 but a follow up from part 2. Ain't believing any of this, until more information comes to light after this terrible blunder.

@@johtojonny Absolutely, brother, I think they deliberately fumbled the third game by erasing or retiring as they called it, both Cereza and Jeanne and replace her with a cheap knock-off version of Vergil. In reality, they wanted the third game to surpass DMC5 but they failed miserably except for the gameplay system. However, by leaving out the events of 1 and 2 and telling the story from a multiverse perspective, they have doomed the whole franchise, unless they amend it. Otherwise, I do not want to say this but it is the end of the Bayonetta franchise.
