There’s a TON of shadow boxing workouts for boxing on RUclips, but nearly ZERO specific to Muay Thai... so I went ahead and made one 🔥 If you enjoy this type of video workout be sure to let me know so I can continue making more!! 👊🙏
really amazing and helps a lot. love the technique and descriptions used throughout your workout. would love to see an audio shadow boxing workout/ audio drill workout from you.
@@seanfagan thanks man. it would be really amazing. I am currently a beginner in Muay Thai as I had started a year ago. I would love an audio workout where you could potentially guide us on what to do for eg: jab cross round house kick, jab elbow knee, etc which could help a lot with forming combos as well as learning new ways to improve my shadow boxing/heavy bag drills
@@seanfagan Great vid, really helpful... just curious how long you run each section for, does the timing of the clips match the length of each 'round'?
I guess the fact that it says 'train alongside makes it a bit of a dumb question lol. Guess I could rephrase it to; do you ever stretch out each section for a longer session, and how much is shadow boxing a part of your preperation for a fight? Got a tournament end of month and rather limited sparring time, so hoping plenty of this kind of stuff will supplement it enough.
@@notmyname3681 Great question! I typically have my shadowboxing sessions range anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on the day. In regards to fight prep, I shadowbox a TON because I love the freedom to be creative and flow while also visualizing my opponent on fight night. I'd definitely recommend it!
That is awesome man! Tienes nombre latino así que imagino que hablas español: sigue haciéndolo. Mi padre jugaba a las espadas conmigo de niño y es uno de los mejores recuerdos que tengo de él.
This is a really important video, I think, because so many people take shadowboxing for granted, like "I'll just pretend there's a dude across from me and I'll whip his ass." You show in this video that there's a lot more nuance to it than that. Great stuff, Sean.
After going to Muay Thai sessions for a few months and learning what you’re doing wrong and how to correct the mistakes really helps with videos like these I noticed the improvement instantly my form balance pace everything is different compared to 4 months ago
this is me every time I get home after training, when I'm already exhausted, but I wanna test some ideas, I get all hyped up, and then I'm wrecked the day after. 😂
been practising martial arts for over 40 years had a lot of illness over the past few years and got out of the game, i recently moved to the Philippines' but can't find any suitable training with the limits my health places on me but i really enjoyed this work out i was quite surprised how flexible i still am considering i haven't trained for over 5 years, look forward to watching more of your videos.
I was looking for an exercise that can get me to sweat and burn fat as fast as it can be. And then I found this! I have no experience with shadow boxing or Muay Thai boxing, but this video is just extraordinary. I'll use this every day, I'll watch this every day. Thank you. Much love & respect from the PHILIPPINES.
Dude this was AWESOME. I’ve trying to learn techniques with your five min shadow boxing video and I finally tried third (after a ten min jump rope session). Sweating a bucketload and proud of myself for getting there in terms of combos. Long way to go but (million) thanks to you this is a start. Once I can afford a bag I’ll move on to you bag workouts. Till then PLEASE keep posting bro. Thank you!!
i know EXACTLY where you are. I worked out a ton on that beach in Koh Phangan and trained with Master Chin at Chinnarach for 4 weeks full time. One of the best and hardest times I've experienced. Great staging for this lesson - keep up good work!
Definitely add more shadow boxing routines Shaun. Really helps to mix up it up and get you focusing on different things instead of the same old combos. Use your shadow boxing video's all the time.
Man your amazing... I've only trained muay thai for a month I don't have any martial arts background it's my first and I'm inlove with muay thai. Also thank you so much for all the videos it been learning from it.
@@seanfagan thanks man I injured tho I broke a rib when sparring some guy pretented he hasnt done muay thai then kicks me and sweeps me hard. I'm going to doctor now and have it checked I'm 100% sure I have a broken rib. =(
Dude. I did this shaadowbing session with you like 3/4 moths ago. By midway I was pretty much close to crashed. I just did again, and only got kinda hosed at the 9th round or so. But I kept breathing through it then at the 10th round, CHARGED through it. My man. This improvement is at least 80% thanks to you and your videos. I was able to keep thinking technique and make sure every shot kinda counted (ok maybe 10% got away from me). Thank you Sean. Thank you so much. I look forward coming to one of your camps once HOvid is over. Appreciate you brutha. Peace!
This is golden. Work is fucking me right now so for the next couple of weeks I wont be able to make it to my muay thai classes, so these videos are gonna be my temporary substitute.
The defense part was of prime importance for me..I've been quite reckless focusing only on offense..Thanks Sean for reminding that. Your technique is flawless. Great video!
Sean Fagan Am in Melbourne and gyms are currently closed, Been LOOKING FOR AWHILE on a video that was shadow boxing but Muay Thai specific. So THANK YOU!!! 💖
My MT shadowboxing is more like regular boxing with elbows and long guard. I need to add some kicks and knees. It feels weird kicking the air... Thanks for the video! I needed a reminder to finish with kicks.
Hey, love these coaching type videos, really like cycling them into my home routines when I'm not at the gym. Really helps. Thanks for lending your experience.
Hi bro. First I want to say thank you. All the gyms are closed and I am training with you now. Second, could you do videos like this one but more advanced. Third, get a patreon bro so you can get some extra bucks. Thanks bro, take care and good luck.

this is great. As someone with little experience, I like how there is enough structure to never feel lost, but not enough to stifle creativity. Thanks for the video!
Great stuff, at 60, I do this regular, however it’s a lot more Slow Mo, to avoid any muscle strains. Start with leg blocks and jab cross, cross hook combo, get the knees higher and higher. Same with kicks, aim at knee, hip, chest, face. (Front kick) round kick stays at hip/ribs level. Because it’s slow, more emphasis is on good technique.
I've come back to this since we've been locked down. This is so good and great to follow. I'd appreciate any further vids like this that someone could do at home without any equipment. Thanks again
New link to audio worked! Thanks for getting it fixed. Have it and will do this tomorrow. for shadowboxing, I have a straight boxing audio, and MMA audio, but could never find one for Muay Thai. This is perfect!
This was a great video, I really enjoyed your commentary through the video and to hear your thoughts, f.e. when you talk about defense or the muscle memory. I will defo include this in my training
Sawadee krap Sean. This is such a great video. The instructions are clear and your form and technique look deadly. I look forward to learning from this and the other videos you post. That background is a paradise. Sawadee krap🙏
I compare shadow boxing to playing the drums for me mentally. It’s easy to get locked in the same comfortable rhythm. This video is great for breaking that and trying new rhythms. Great info. Great narration. Thanks you for your time. I wish you great success that matches your hard work.
Even if I will not go into a Muay Thai fight anytime soon, practicing shadowboxing is part of my general fitness activities and this workout for sure brings interesting variety and an always bigger respect for the fighters.
