Join me on a breathtaking hike as I traverse the picturesque landscapes of the Dolomites in Italy, this scenic hiking adventure from Val Travenanzes to Rifugio Giussani is one of my favourite in the Dolomites. This challenging yet rewarding hike promises jaw dropping views, a thrilling vertical drop and encounters with nature’s beauty.
The Trail:
Val Travenanzes to Rifugio Giussani is a long day hike, a path that winds through the heart of the Dolomite peaks. Over the course of approximately 20 kilometers, prepare for an 8-9 hour endeavor filled with excitement, as you navigate diverse terrains and face varying elevations. I started from Fiames in Cortina and finished up at Rifugio Dibona.
Difficulty Level:
This hike is somewhat demanding and requires a decent level of physical preparation. The 1300-meter vertical gain sets the tone for a challenging ascent with quite rocky and undulating trails, requiring a good level of fitness and endurance. Prior hiking experience is required to prepare ones self for the obstacles that lie ahead, ensuring to enjoy this panoramic hike.
