- Can you bend your arms behind your back, click your wrist or touch your thumb to your forearm? Most people describe someone with these talents as being "double-jointed," but that's not an accurate representation. Here's a look at what's really going on with your friends who are unusually flexible.

Can You Actually Be Double-Jointed?
They have anxiety because everyone at school is always forcing them to show off their ability
Yes! I used to have people ask me to show them how I touch my ear with my foot standing up it makes you wish no one knew after one person finds out
yes everybody in the 2nd,3rd,and fourth would ask me to do backflips
Yeah. A lot. They always ask.
@@tamae.j7359 everyone kept asking me to show them my high kick. I can kick higher than my head. I can also release my shoulder blades.
@@LauLessPariah I used to pop my shoulder or hip out just to make my sister freak out
-So entertaining
I'm so uncomfortable
Why u everywhere
Disrespectful I have double jointed limbs everywhere
...god damnit, now I'm going to feel anxious about being more prone to anxiety due to double-jointed-ness
hol up
Anyone here have a "double jointed" thumb too?
Me
Me
Yep. Here. I can also twist it backwards.
Mee
Me mines like knuckle pops in and out lol
I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Hypermobility Type and it causes a lot more than just being uber flexible. Glad this video shows a bit of a different side of being super bendy. I'm in constant pain and it's definitely not fun.
Sarah B same
Oh my😮
Yes, I have hEDS too - shout out to my zebra family! I’m cringing watching this video, saying “don’t do that!”. Party tricks like this come at a high cost.
Double-jointed people freak me out, like actually
Same
you're every where
I freak you out? :(
@@dx9233 yes
@@dx9233 but don't worry i still love you and accept you
Almost everyone i know: OMG LOOK CRYSTAL CAN MAKE HER WRIST DO A 360°
Or
HOW ARE YOU SO FLEXIBLE?
I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, hypermobility type (hEDS). It’s a genetic Connective Tissue Disorder which effects every system in the body, not just joints. It causes a great deal of pain. I’m an atypical hEDS person because I also have fragile skin (which is more common in people with classical EDS). EDSers have high adrenaline levels all the time. We also have poor proprioception - meaning we have a hard time knowing where our bodies/limbs are in space - so we’re known to be rather klutzy. Our joints are loose and can dislocate easily - either partial or full dislocations. These are NOT painless for the majority of us, in fact they can be intensely painful. I think all of these things contribute to the high anxiety levels.
Fellow zebra here
Who was the most famous skeleton detective?

Sherlock Bones. 🕵🏻♂️☠️
Get out
um... haha?
Get out of my house.
this ruined my day
Skullduggery Pleasant
My friend has double jointed shoulders and she gets easily anxious and cannot use a lot of the equipment in the gym because she's scared that she'll injure herself.
A friend of mine can twist his hand full on 360 degrees
I wish I could do that 😂
Ey I can do dat. I freaked out a whole classroom because of it, it was funny😂
Same and I face problem in doing pushups
@@ashishlal7212 i can do that and I am double jointed and the only problem I have is that my right leg pops out of its socket from time to time. I just need to lay down and stretch my leg. Hurts but I laugh it of after 🤣
@@XordaXGaming ohkk 😅😅😅 take care
I have a double jointed finger. I didn't think it was such a bad thing.
Okay.... I seriously think RUclips is reading my mind. I was just thinking how I am double jointed and then this video was just released and showed up in my recommendeds
Dude same.
Saaame. I just learned that my friend was double jointed the other day.
I swear that my phone is spying on me......
Nah, that’s probably because it likes to creep you out.
Same
My friend has joint hypermobility and it is so wierd/cool/unusual to see him do it!
*Interesting!* …and creepy to see that elbow bend backwards.
I think being double jointed is more useful for a woman than a man.
Gross.
:)
Being double jointed is like having All Might's "One for All" quirk
Gay men say otherwise. I say otherwise
(Insert Lenny face here)
*_I'd rather be ambidextrous than this...._*
*_Oh wait, I'm already ambidextrous..._*
I Just found the correct term for my so much flexible fingers and jaw ‘hypermobility’. After so many years, I found the right term, because I just didn't know what is this type of flexibility called.
All my fingers are extremely flexible and some can be easily dislocated and my jaw is so flexible too.
*i have anxiety and I'm double jointed.*
If being double jointed isn't real then why can my toes bend like fingers?
@@alexthompson8977 because flexibility?
Me too
My thumbs are double jointed. My thumbs up looks like an L. I can actually balance my body on the flat surface of where my thumb’s fingerprint is. I can even do finger pushups pretty easily because of it.
I have double jointed index fingers. It’s not as fun as you’d think because they “lock” when I strain them too far and then I have to pop them into being able to move again.
0:37 I thought everyone can do that..
I have double jointed thumbs, and I can turn my arm 180 degrees from normal, does that count?
1:13 happens all the time
AW YES A VIDEO ON HYPERMOBILTY
I'm excited because hypermobilty isn't a often looked at medical problems especially when you're like me and have JHS. Later in the video probably explains why I'm always alert and nobody can jumpscare me unless the tickle me in which I go limp and collapse on the floor. Oof
So, it's actually a disadvantage?
No Because people like me can show my double jointed skills off
@@adriansookai lmao same that is the case with my elbow
dreefree Ayyyy
i have it and it really really sucks i would gladly trade it with anyone else for a normal body. My collar bones keep dislocating and my feet are flat that its a torture to stand or walk for a long time unless I’m wearing suitable shoes.
Who other double jointed people were also trying to do what the staff were also doing?
But it looks weird...
Alexa double play despacito
I can curve all my fingers back, I honestly thought that was normal. Till I saw people unable to do it, I also can bend the top of my fingers only on my right hand.
I'm really disappointed that this didn't get into the hypermobility disorders like Ehlers-Danlos.
I am hyper flexible and have joint hyper mobility
I can turn my arms backwards twice and turn my legs all the way around and I can make my thumb touch my wrist and make my thumb and pinky wrap around my wrist and can turn my pinky to a 90⁰ angle
I am not trying to show off
But still, I love this gift.
For me my leg bones in the back of the middle one of them goes behind the other bone and I can't move. And then it will pop back into its place. Proof of hyper flexibility. But it still hurts like hell.
Once again
*I am not trying to show off*
I’m double jointed to with both of my thumbs and my shoulder
I can just push the thumb of my left hand past the joint of my index finger, but not too far back, just where it ends
It freaked out a lot of people, tried doing it with my right hand, but it started to hurt
so no flexibility for me, too painful, risky, and I'm paranoid about stuff
My fingers are double-jointed. They allow me to bend them 30° backwards
I can bend one of my index fingers and both of my thumbs back farther than the rest.
I tried doing that thumb thing. It didn’t work.
Can they control the ring finger?
I have been lied to
On of my friends in double jointed
I actually don’t feel alone based off of most of the comments
I can release my shoulder blades really far and my fingers do some weird skeletal thing. That counts i think!
Skeletal thing?
I have double jointed elbows, they don't make you the best being on earth, just something a bit unique.
Shit anxiety? Guess that’s my go to excuse now
I have a double jointed thumb
I have double jointed elbows
me too
I have hyper mobility an think it makes me a better climber an dancer
Im hyper mobile in 3 places: my thumb can touch my forearm in both hands, my thumbs like knuckle thingy can pop in and out on both hands and my fingers can do the thing the lady with red nail polish and the purple blouse did with my right arm. Lol I’m such a freak
Edit: also what if I put my hand straight and then pull all my fingers back and they are almost touching the back of my hand. Is that hyper mobile because I can do that too with both my hands and feel no pain at all
My fingers especially my pinky are flexible. My pinky and rotate and fold backwards and be unseen
I'm double jointed!!
Two of my friends, their dad is a doctor, they say double joint isn’t a thing
*Looks at thumbnail*
Me: where's her body
*Moves thumb*
Me: the fu-
I've got a double jointed pinky finger and it grosses people out when I bend it back lol
*jumps on wheelchair*
I HAV OSTEOPOROSIS.
I was actually the only one who was "hypermobile" whom I've met in my whole life where have these 20% of the population been bruv
I’m still trying to grasp the fact people can’t bend there fingers back.
I’m hella double-jointed.
It’s fun to freak people out with my joints. 😂
My friend is double jointed in alot of places I wish I was
I'm double jointed too I can bend index finger tip and can pop my joint on my right and left hand.
I'm double jointed
I just discovered that im double jointed and just wanted to check out how many weird stuff i can do
Also i remember playing twister with my friends and always winning lol
I have the finger myth of double joints
No wonder why I sprain my ankle only by walking....
My fingers are double jointed... I feel paranoid now
I have that funky hyper flexibility in most my body, I’m able to touch my elbow to the ground with out bending my knees also all my fingers can make a v bending backwards I can’t pop my shoulders out but I have a wide rang of movement with them lol
If blood is bluilding up in your Legs then change your poster
Just out of pure curiosity, anyone else here is able to pop their thumb in and out it’s socket? I used to think everyone else could do it since I often did it as a way to calm myself but apparently not everyone can
I am double jointed I can move my thumb weird
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome so under researched
Who else had that one kid in class that would always show off their bullshit double joint
No
I discovered by this video that i am double jointed
0:38 I can do that I thought it was normal. ?
Here before this blow up lol
my whole school is double jointed
all of my fingers are double jointed
I have depression and im as flexible as a metal pipe
So its more a curse
double joint might save us from getting injured in an accident
...yeah, gonna need verified statistics on that
@@crpineo my fingers didnt break and my neck is still up right.
@@LauLessPariah ...all that tells me is that you used those words here, on a comment chain on a video; you've provided no proof that you were in any kind of accident, no proof that you are double-jointed in those parts of your body, _and_ no proof that, even if those two facts were true, that it was the reason you were not hurt
Again, *_verified statistics_* simply claiming something on the internet with no verification, and nothing but a single personal anecdote, is _not_ verified statistics
But can your joints run Crysis?
Oh I love being double jointed
I have anxiety cause I’m special? Ok sweet
Great, one more thing that supposedly adds to my anxiety.
Whoa I'm pretty lucky then since I never dislocated any bones in my body
So this is what it’s like to be double jointed😳
Why is the world have to be like I mean even if you did what the world want you to do and more than it you won't be better than some exceptional humans who are heroes that are born not mad, example those people have this kind of felixibility when they are born but others have to go and kill themselves to earn that but they won't ever get to those who has this Felixability because those people are heroes that are born but not earned their ability . I have learned that the meaning "the world will never be perfect" doesn't mean that some people you love die no, that not it it means more than that, example some one born in a family that kills children when they are ten but ten is not long but if you imagined if that child wanted to be a big known man but he can't because he is gonna die at 10 so world isn't perfect a about people dying and leaving you because all of us gonna experience that so that is easy but the world isn't perfect about your job and etc
I dont know im a double jointed person and i dont know why my classmates surprise when i bend my thumb and placing it to the arms and i just know i am a double jointed person XD
I can twist my hand 360 degrees
I know a guy who can bend his finggers up agaisnt the back of his hands.
I thought Im the only one that can do the stuff on 0:04
Yamada Tae?
Came here because I thought I was cool, got out knowing I have more chances of having anxiety and dying. Nice.
I’m stiff like a stick
My thumb can pop in and out
I can snap my thumbs backwards
Well then I have Joint Hypermobility.
I am double jointed ➿
I can do my finger tips!
Yes you can be double jointed cause I have like 7 classmates who are.
this sounds weird,,, but i can pull my index finger so far back that it can touch the back of my hand,,,, does anyone else have that too
Does it hurt?
I hate people who think double jointedness actually exits
Hate? Um... why? Is it really that deep
