The fact that people think Birds require less attention than Dogs/Cats baffles me.... MAJORITY of the day I'm with my bird!
That's so nice of you👍
Me too
ikr? my birds are my life
IKR? We even sleep in the aviary on hot summer nights 😊
Same i love my birds
Well the whole socialisation thing, depends on the bird. Hand raised birds tend to prefer the company of humans, where aviary raised birds usually prefer to be around other birds.
only because one is used to humans and one is not, both my budgies were raised in aviaries but i tamed them and the bond is really strong
agree but mostly.... it's not a general rule. i have a hand raise bird she was attached to me 24x7 but then i started keeping her inside the cage with other birds she didn't need me for longer. she would only come to me now when i have food in my hand or if i am watching tv.
Watching this video makes me feel like such a great bird mom. My lil guy is SOOO smart, I make his toys 80% of the time, he does NOT like those little mirrors, he comes out his cage when he wants, (except at bedtime) . & there's a lot more. Oh and I'm fortunate enough to not have to work and he does take up 85% of my time. And that's ok cuz he deserves it, especially because of where I got him from.
Glad to hear your taking such good care of your pal! Keep at it! 🖤
Where did you get him from?🤨🤔
@@cyanbirdsstory4717 a little "bird pet" store at this flea market place. I wish I could've taken all of them. He was only 12$, but he's absolutely priceless to me. I would literally shoot someone's pinky toe off for him.... if I had to. 😊 And the ppl that work there are idiots &know NOTHING about taking care of birds properly!

"They can escape cages" Yeah, learned that one the hard way lmao. Got my birds cage doors locked now.
I took the toy she never bothered with, took the toy part off and just took the little hook thing off and wrapped that around the cage doors
@@zeallust8542 lol! Having to do that myself. Not because of my birds but because of the 2 year old.😅
I learned that the really hard way... Rip tiki
Mine used to exit through little holes designed for putting food dishes through, now they're too big to fit through though.

Great video! I can finally tell my parents that my budgie is not stupid, with this video! (My parents thought budgies are dumb, but not for long!)

Yeh if you don't have a bird you're more likely to think birds are dumb
@@ShrekGG1 wtf u okay?

Stop being toxic
I have four budgies so ....yeh
As a longstanding bird mum I know birds aren't stupid and I'm horrified that people could possibly think that! My two budgies and pet pidgeon are affectionate, smart, silly and the light of my home.
You have a pet pigeon?
AWESOME!!!!
@@Fry925 He's a wonderful family member. He adores sparing with me.
I suspect that the only bird owners who think birds are stupid are the ones that spend so little time with them that it's neglect on a criminal level.
It makes me feel happy seeing you videos! Birds need cages to survive! Unfortunately, I don't know how to keep my birds safe inside my house without the fan hurting it or the door closing on it. I'm so concerned for my 6 budgies! Can you make a video showing how to keep your budgie safe inside? Thank you, Salvador Budgie, we owe you one!
Make sure the fan is off when the budgies are out, and watch them if they go near it! Always keep ur birds near you when out, to supervise them. Make sure any unnecessary and dangerous doors are closed aswell, and windows!
@@Nicocopufff Tank you so much! I will try it soon :D

we have left a small door open in our birds cage going on 2 months now. I leave their food and water in the cage but will give them a treat outside the cage on their play area. Now that they know they dont get locked down, they seem super laxed. Its actually helped them get used to us.
I build a separator between the kitchen and living room and bird safed the livingroom. They love it! they usually hang on the play table I put together for them and will fly a lap around the room when they want. Appreciate all your vids, they have helped a ton!
So happy you gained your birds trust?
I've had cats, dogs and horses- but the hardest I ever worked for a pet was when I had a little red bellied poicephalus. From the first day I was at that little guy's beck and call and it was worth every single second of effort.
What can I Say except that you are awesome?I have 2 budgies, and thank to you i know how to treat them. Thank you Salvador❤️
🖤
When I'm home I always leave my budgies cage door open so they can come and go as they please.
And they love eating from my food.
They are very clean.
And I always make sure the ground is clean before they walk on the floor.
Plus they really are very intelligent, they actually know who their owners are and when you come home. 😎👍💯
I got so INCREDIBLY annoyed at some ignorant coworkers who suggested that having parrots is cruel. Yes, they sleep in a cage but they are out for most of the day. They are also incredibly smart and know when I ask them to go back inside (especially if there is a treat involved). My coworkers were like "birds belong in nature, you should set them free". A cockatiel would not survive a Finnish winter, that's for sure. I was tempted to clap back with "your dogs are essentially wolves, right? Just let them loose", but I kept my mouth shut.
Mine seem to have a lot of fun for being tortured by a cruel person. They would not have their own Echo Dot to play their favorite tunes in the wild, nor would they get strawberries in the dead of winter. If they were to get sick, there is no avian vet to make them well. I could be wrong, but I think think most tame parrots have a great deal. I heard about a Budgie who got loose for a few days. He returned himself by flying into his human’s vehicle and demanding to be returned to his habitat. He got a taste of life in “the wild” and decided against it.
That is so silly to believe that your budgies are stupid
The first myth is very true, So many people think that birds are dumb and stupid, But I don't believe in that myth! My birds are very smart and amazing
My dad calls my birds stupid but my birds pick my hair and show me affection they can do super cool games they're indeed intelligent just like us humans
🐦🐥🐣🌏🐨 yes mine go to bird uni. good pets . Keith Australia
I've never heard a human say birds are stupid
About the last one, it seems to me as ridiculous as "it's cruel to trapped humans in houses/apartments. Go sleep on the streets!" Of course it is cruel to trap you in the storage room 24 hours a day, but having a decent home, being able to go outside every day and traveling once in a while is great!

This is a very informative video, thanks ☺😀 I have 2 little budgies and with your tips they are very healthy 🐦🐦☺
Names of them ?
They 2 are males or female?
I like to treat my birds cage as his house, and seeing me is like visiting a friend. He goes back home whenever friend has to do something important, like go to school or sleep.
even though i donot own a bird your videos are so educational thank you!
Aww, I couldn’t imagine thinking birds are stupid. My little Inko has worked out how to move puzzle pieces on my iPad game! It’s so cute watching him pottering around the screen, chattering away.
I have a simple rule I follow: if I’m home, the bird has the run of the room. I get home from work, dump my bag in the hall and open his cage first thing. He does this adorable thing where he ruffles/fans his tail when he sees me.
Having a pet bird is wonderful, they really do bring so much to your life!
Thank you for this advice! I have 2 budgies, both quite young and my sister too. I tried feeding them berries, offering it to them in small portions, with a wide variety. They didn’t seem interested at all and when I tried giving them the seed diet, they ate it without a problem. In quite a few of your videos, you mention that budgies need a proper a well-balanced diet. I’m trying to reach that goal but I’m struggling to do so, is there any advice you could give me?
🐦🐥🐣🌏🐨 hi. I put little of each pieces of . corn. berries. Cauliflower . peas. raspberry. strawberry. apple . green leafe ..not all at once. different each day.. they eat some .but can be fussy. also millet seed . in separate little tray. Keith Australia
You should watch Elle and the birds video on how to transfer them to a pellet diet. Seeds are very unhealthy and you don’t need to feed them veggies every day. As little as 3 times a week is usually ok, as long as they have a healthy pellet diet and are only eating seeds as a treat.

I'm really sad that you're getting less likes and views, you're so underrated! I don't get it! I'm always early to your videos
I think there isn’t much new information in his videos 😂 some things are so obvious to every bird owner
@@diemadchen7093 Well he helped me take care of my budgie much better and know whats harmful for it.
@Die Mädchen that's pretty mean, I'm 34 and I've had birds since I was a kid and even after so many years of raising birds I always come here to find something new
@@juliatony9326 I mean some videos are really informative and help, but I was just replying to the comment, saying that some videos are just not teaching many more new things. To me, it’s because he already said everything in the previous videos
@Die Mädchen
I strongly disagree
The videos I've seen always teach me something new and interesting
Because I've had birds for my entire life I still already know some things but I can appreciate how many people don't know these things maybe because they're new owners and he is teaching them
i went to a birthday party at a playhouse like the things in mcdonalds but way bigger, and there were some animals in cages, lizards, snakes, and we saw a budgie and I was so interested but I felt so bad for it, it had so many toys, treats in there cage at all times, they were so bored, their food was only seeds. they probably didnt even know how to fly. they were getting treated like a fish, just fed everyday. they were so unhealthy and bored. I feel so bad for them. but its understandable that they cant do much because they are "display"
As a veterinarian, I am very surprised this is all true. Our family has lots of birds, one of the budgies loves to come out while the other doesn’t. Our African grey sometimes comes out, and our peach front conure loves to come out.
My bird loves her cage, I usually keep the door to it open and the moment I leave the room she usually goes back in until I come back. She mostly just leaves her cage to be closer to me
i have birds who dont like to come out even if i leave the door open
Thanks for telling me these things! I’m looking forward to getting a bird in June! Wish me luck btw please keep making more videos, they will help me and other people know how to take care of a bird, and how they are feeling!
Your channel made my bond even stronger with my budgies than t was thanks a lot
Awesome 👍
Very good video, I agree! I have a Congo African Grey and boy does he demands a lot more attention than my two dogs!
My budgie isn't hand-tame but loves spending time outside his cage - he hasn't gone back in in the last three days! He still eats and drinks and flies around, but most of all he enjoys perching on the curtain pole in the living room.
Meanwhile, my lovebird is super in love with me and hates sleeping alone. She wants to sleep on me all night (I do not recommend this to just anyone - I am extremely careful and so is she), and 80% of the time she just wants to cuddle under my chin or nap on my hand while I play games.
My dad's conure will also spend hours perched on his shoulder preening and watching him work. He loves nothing more than being in his company.
Birds are great, y'all.
Hey can u please make a video on safe toys for budgies
Great one... Thank you for informing it's not wrong to keep it in a cage for some time when I'm not at home😌😌😌
Thank you Salvador Budgie
A cage is more like a room for them
Well actually after seeing this I am happy that my 2 parrots are very well treated. I mean, they are always free to go around the house and their cage is always open so they can go in and out any time they want and we never buy them toys bc 1-it’s to expensive 2-the don’t need it bc they find stuff to play with (mostly anything in my pencil case) around the house themselves. The only sad thing is that one of them can’t rlly fly and HATES when I try to give it attention (she hates me) but I know that they are smart enough (except one of them bc it sings for any foot related item except socks and that is kinda stupid) but still they get all the attention and freedom they want.😊
Hi
Birds are the most misunderstood pet
2:03-2:05
I actually don’t mean to leave my birds in the cage, I’m usually busy but I do talk and chat with my birds sometimes, so they don’t always feel alone, I have around 2 birds, Aka budgies/parakeets
I didn’t know that keeping a bird all day in a cage is “abuse” I just care about the birds safety, but if my birds are well trained then I would let them feel free to fly around my room for a few minutes or so. I hope others will understand my concerns here.
First of all, happy to hear that you care for your birds.
It's true that not all people are capable of letting their birds free roam around the house/room for many different reasons.
However, if that's the case, it would be ideal to get them a very large cage at least.
One that allows them to fly inside and really enjoy their time.
You can also try bird proofing the room they're in.
@@Bird-Nuggets the cage is really big so I doubt that! XD and thanks for the tip! 🤗
@@Bird-Nuggets and I’ll bird proof my future room later on
I never letted my birbs being outside the cage bc they are not tamed or doesn't trusts me yet my and i dont wanna let them out of my cage yet bc they will not go to their cage by themselves they will just keep flying and will just sit in one place and the only way to get them back in to the cage is grabbing them and i dont want to grab them its torture and plus they are also adults and someone said we cant tame adult birbs now wat :( i dont wanna abuse them :(
@@Ieatchildren1881 don't worry, spend time with them, keep your hand inside their cage (without chasing them or grabbing them) for atleast 5 minutes a day, handfeed them, and they will eventually get used to you and start trusting you :D
All the points that i needed to tell my parents , that they complain about . Now I can prove them. Thank you soo much .
🐦🐥🐣 🌏🐨 I've never thought my birds are dumb . they have me trained ..Keith Australia
Questions - My budgie after being around people for a while can get slightly pissed and becomes the boss of the house and screeches at everyone to leave, is that normal and what if my budgie dislike flying and prefers to be a ball in a cage and become the boss?
He's just being territorial. Nothing wrong with that, except when he can get violent or start mating with your hand/inanimate objects profusely. Try to limit the hours of daylight he gets by putting a blanket over his cage at set times, and reduce the fatty seeds in his diet like sunflower seeds, millet, et cetera, that should help him calm down a little. Good luck :)
@@ilsevanderbij7179 Thanks :D
That’s just how they are. They are like flying gremlins. Your bird may be hormonal or irritated from molting. Just leave your Budgie alone for a while when he gets like this. Don’t make a fuss or anything. Certainly don’t give him attention when he has a tantrum. You may want to cover him or dim the lights. He’ll eventually get the message that screeching isn’t how he gets his way. It often takes them a while to learn to fly around a house. They can get really attached to their cage.
They sometimes act up just for attention, like a toddler. Sometimes it’s personality. My older Budgie has shouting fits and tantrums off and on. Her little sister is a big butterball who just watches and stays out of the way.
quick question, i have no way to fully birdproof any room in my house and i currently have a medium sized cage for my 3 little dudes, i was wondering if i can make a very large cage for them so they may have a lot of space to fly around, my maximum space for this cage would be 3 by 10 feet because the safest room i have them in now has a lot of space
Well u just birdproof what u can and then trust ur gut coz most of the time they will sit in the same spot like mine sit on the curtains or on the top of their cage
And a big cage is good do it if u can but not as an alternative to keeping them outside coz u have to do it smtimes
Btw u seem like a nice guy who cares for their budgies
@@aryandesale115 thanks i really do try, little guys dont realize it but they have done a lot more for me than i have for them
Ya man i just bought mine like 2 months ago they just brought so much change in our life. And by the way best , and i say the best advice to keep ur birds safe and healthy is to not listen to people who don't have any knowledge about it whatsoever. There was um my mom's friend who said not to take recommendation from these videos they are not true whereas all the progress I have made with them is due to my man Salvador budgie.btw my budgies just learner how to go in the cage by themselves
What if your bird just chooses not to come out of the cage? I got a budgie about 3 months ago and he has only come out of the cage a couple of times and i usually leave the door open for hours
try and bring stuff outside of the cage (toys, treats, etc) and in the meantime try and get him used to your hand so it can step up eventually and then you can hopefully take him in and out more easily
i got my budgie in march of this year, and he is still to scared to leave the cage. what could i do to get him out of the cage? and how would i get him back in. he’s too scared to go near my hand, unless i have a treat. love your vids!
I love your videos. I do have a question: we have 2 budgies in a very large flight cage. I can't let them free fly in the main part of the house as it is all open, and I cannot bird proof it. I wheel the cage into the guest room and open the doors, but they won't leave the cage! I have it in there for hours, and they just sit. I feel bad that they don't want to leave it. They can fly inside the cage. Is that being cruel?
No
No
you should wait for them to come out themselves, they'll decide whether they wanna come out or not, don't be concerned if they don't come out at first. It's normal around a new environment. They'll soon get used to the area and get out.
Not at all, it sounds like you care for your birds a lot.
It's a good idea to encourage them to go outside, they're most likely just scared from the new and unknown environment.
Try introducing toys and playgrounds and also treats outside.
Thank you. I will try that. 💜
Love the video so true
I only heard true facts here, I already knew this but I'm always watching videos like these to learn something new and be the best parent I can to my sweeties

my two budiges are weird as they like to eat and sleep outside their cage and hang out and play in their cage.
their cage is always open so they can enter and leave when they want.
THANK YOU , MR.BUDGIE, would you please do a video on people grabbing their birds to force a cuddle. I see quite a few people advising others to feel free to grab their birds. All birds don't like cuddling.😳👌THANK YOU !!!
My parakeet is super happy because it’s the holiday and we let her out like EVERY SINGLE DAY ✨
Other toys to look out for are wicker balls and ring-like toys (such as baby rings). I've heard so many sad stories of parrots accidentally getting their head stuck inside a wicker ball or baby ring they're playing with and hanging themselves, only to be found dead later in their cage.
If you have either of these kinds of toys, only use them on play stands _outside_ of their cage where you can watch them the entire time they're playing! It's very important to only allow 100% safe toys to be placed in your parrot's cage, to keep accidents like this from happening.
And I try to let my birds out all the time but they won’t go out! I tried all your tips
"Ever seen a toddler?" Is the best way to describe parrots

I’ve literally never believed these myths, especially that birds are dumb. Birds are very intelligent
Nr. 1 myth you hear around here all the time: single birds are happy, even without company. And my grandma had a single budgie, and it got very old. I am so sick of hearing this. It makes me sad. People think that birds are stupid, because of these sayings like "bird brain" but even budgies are so smart that they learn the foreign language "human words" to get attention from the human. And thanks a lot for saying that they are even cleaner than cats
You helped me a lot,ty
I let my birds out when they want to so all day but they are only by my side when I am eating especially fruit ofc with there cute face I give them the food that they can eat 😭
How do I let them go outside without getting hurt I had other birds that I usually leave inside I do try to tame them but if take the new ones I recently have they'll bump into walls and injure themselves
My first pet bird ever I tamed him successfully and that's only because he couldn't fly he was in way like Nemo he had a smaller wing and Nemo had a smaller fin
People worried about their budgies escaling the cage
My budgie with the cage door permanently open: "I'm fine over here. Might hang out on the lamp if I feel like it."
For those worrying, no, the lamps don't heat up.

Sometimes, my budgies go crazy in the middle of the night and hit themselves towards the cage soooo hard. I get scared so bad, they could hurt themselves badly. I want to know what to do in the situation. Thank you ;)❤🌹

I still miss salvadora... But its okay she is in heaven now!
im miss the dead one, i never got to fully name him before he died
My budgies just died and my heart got broken idk if I can keep going🤧😔
