5:20 Horses in the UK require passports for one reason - in case they end up in the food supply chain. The passport is actually a record of veterinary medicines administered, which means an abattoir can be sure that the animal is not in a withdrawal period meaning it can't be slaughtered for food.

some additions to the alaska facts, from an alaskan:
-When William Seward made the purchase, that 7.2 million dollar price tag came down to just two cents per acre, an extremely low price for such a vast territory. Despite this, the public ridiculed Seward for buying Alaska, seeing it as a worthless frozen wasteland and nicknaming it "Seward's Folly." He would have the proverbial last laugh though, as the gold rush in the 1880s and the oil boom in the 1960s would prove that Alaska was a resource-rich land more than worth the price.
-Kobuk National Park, despite being the least-visited national park in the US, has one of Alaska's best kept secrets: sand dunes. That's right, there is a sand dune desert in Kobuk, even though it's above the Arctic Circle!

Add to that the outrageous cost of books, horrendously high rent in most cities, the rising cost of living in general and students are actually quite boned in Germany (unless supported by their parents which a lot of us have to rely on). I'm not saying we have it worse than other countries. Just in case people heard the original statement and are now dallying with the idea of studying in Germany.

"Mega-volcano" isn't a geologic/vulcanologic term, neither is super volcano technically, super volcano is a colloquial term

U forgot to mention that the longest highway in the world is also the only eoad that connects all of the Canadian provinces together. A few yrs back a bridge in Ontario collapsed n until it was fixed the only way to get from 1 half of the country to the other was to detour thru the USA. But thx, i would've assumed Russia had some transcontinental highway too n didn't realize we had the longest.
"Chile has the lowest divorce rates." Does believing in aliens strength the bonds of marriage "Divorce was only made legal in 2005." Oh that explains it but also means they probably aren't counting countries where it is still illegal.
Largest KNOWN cave system in the world. We defs haven't found every single cave n even ones we have found could have vast areas beyond the tiny choke points where our explorations end
