I give Vivian all the respect in the world but when Steve died the magic of the band went with him. All he wanted was his dad's approval, which i can relate with Steve 110% on. Doing the things that make you happiest and not even so much as a good job or I'm proud of you can be said by his father is no wonder why he drank himself to death. I'm recovering myself due to family neglect and mental abuse. RIP Steve. You're the legend in the flesh.
I don’t think there’s anything I can say that would suffice but having a similar background as the one you describe, and being a fan of leppard and steve, I can say that you’re as loved as he was, thank you for holding on, nothing you’ve gone through or done will be in vain
That was my comment about Steve and thank you. It took me a long time to open my eyes I was numb for so long but now I'm trying to re enter this life if mine with open eyes and hopefully it lasts. I miss Steve's music he was an amazing Guitarist.
He made Def Leppard….period. No disrespect to Vivian he is great, but Steve was it. What a sweetheart. He is missed to this system.
Completely agree!
He wrote the songs that made them.
He was so sweet and so adorable. Man I miss him. Rip Steve Clark, miss you everyday. Rock hard in heaven ♥️♥️♥️
That is really relatable, the eternal struggle of finding people with the same level of artistic enthusiasm as you
he’s such a sweetheart 🥺
his smile, his laugh, his voice.
R.I.P Steve Steamin Clark. We all hope you know that you are still loved very much.💕🤘🔥🎸🇬🇧
What a guy. Very unique musical tastes and skills. Very sorely missed. RiP Riff Master.
What a treasure we lost. Thanks for all the incredible music Steve.
I love Steve. 💙
What a beautiful human being. Rest in paradise ❤❤
The Riff Master Steve Clark 🎸🎶❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Love his smile. You are missed every single day ❤️💟💟💟💟💟💟💟.
My hero
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
we all miss him so much
I wish he was still alive. I thinks he would have made some amazing music as time passes.
he def wouldve
He was a great soul and is still loved very much today.
I'm so glad I was wearing headphones when the test pattern was included at the end.
Seems like a really nice guy. Understand why Phil had such a good friendship with him.
The end of this man was the end of the band. Whoever fucked with him needs a talking to. People don't drink themselves to death because their happy. They do it because their childhood was atrocious.
I believe his father's indifference to him played a big part. He was loved by his band and fans but not his father who was bitter and jealous or so I've read. Who knows? A huge loss of one the greatest guitarists.
While I think Viv has been the perfect fit - I think Def Leppard’s vibe has been different since Steve’s death. Those subtle little bits and licks that were a Def Leppard signature were classic Clark licks
Steve is an amazing person who I miss everyday and moment. The band did lose their magic when they lost Steve. No disrespect to Vivian. Steve was so talented and sweet. Wish his dad could have been there for him and caring instead of tearing him down. I don't want to see the band without Steve,it would hurt too much.
Interviews with this shy gentle man are extremely rare. He obviously here is in a pub and he also is already well on his way however given his tolerance - he was found in a dumpster in the US with a blood alcohol level higher than John Bonham, Steve drank VERY young thanks to his hard, brutal taxi driving Sheffield Father.
This interview was during the hiatus the band gave Steve, he's in a pub somewhere in London..
"The Riffmaster" was seriously a LYRICAL AND MUSICAL GENIUS - on Stage he oozed cool, a genuine [not like the fake smoke Saul Hudson clown] rock star who blew away the stadiums. I have posted under a different name all In know about this man - on other web sites - I miss him. Vivian is a beast but Leppard have, never will be the same, and that is NOT slagging off Viv.
Viv imo plays Phil off a short break. But personally I 'do' think Steve would have approved of Viv - Steve hated the. LA slingers, Viv being from the UK would have meant a lot to Steve.
If you want to try and quantify 'how' valuable Steve was, is to Leppard - just look at their real lack of commercial success after he passed - as Viv said verbatim [Savage and Elliot would NEVER admit this] "90% of what we play Steve left us - I still can't play Gods Of War and some of his other songs". Now these words are from Vivian, a brilliant guitarist. There's context.
And 'that smile' that hid SO much pain. Kills me every time. But look at what he left us - incalculable as it is. The great rock photographer Ross Halfin who picked Steve extremely early and has taken the most number of live and set pictures of Steve blames his Father for Steve's pain, ALL Steve ever wanted was his Dad's approval.
Watch the BBC telemovie on the early days of Leppard as it is near perfect.
What an amazing beautiful human being. Rest in Peace Steve ❤
WHAT A GREAT DUDE !! ROCK IN PEACE STEVE!! 🎸
Interesting what he said about the drinks in the pub. That either way people will find a way to dis you.
Because of jealousy. As someone said, "we hate it when our friends become famous".
Steve was Def Leppard very thankful that the band decided to create the beginning which was all the music from Steve. Thank you, Def Leppard.
I wish Steve could've straightened himself out. He seemed like a very down to Earth decent guy... it's sad that he was gone only a few years later.
His face seems to light up when taking about the past and then when talking about the change in music he looks sad, almost like he's going to cry.
Always kept same values when came to there songs respect
Its his songs that i keep coming back to. When he died, the music went with him IMO.
Yet again such a dam shame drink got in the way. Steve was the perfect gentleman and a massive tallent, he is still to this day very sorely missed in the rock world.
R.I.P Steve
I ♥️ him so much 😢
It's hard to believe a man who seemed so coherent and happy let alcohol destroy him. I guess some people just cannot exorcize their demons. All the help his band offered him and he still dug his own grave. So sad. So very very sad. RIP.
His dad could of gave him a pat on the back and say good job!
How do you know he didn't? Actually... I heard his dad was abusive
@JARED BARATTA Could've, DUMBA**
@@juleenrustan3804 Barry, Steve's dad, was a real ASSHOLE. Steve was constantly trying to get his dad respect. Sadly this contributed to Steve's death.
@@juleenrustan3804 Steve got out of rehab the last time for alcohol and his dad picked him up....and took him to the pub. His dad is I think a very large part of why Steve's no longer here.
@@danimal097521 I agree 👍
Rest In Peace Steve
I met him that year 1988 in Oslo.
Steve Clark morreu e levou a banda junto...
Levou consigo toda a magia de apresentações atemporais e eternas..
Mesmo quase 40 anos depois de sua morte a magia ainda continua 😢❤.
Rest in Peace Maestro!
I miss you bro 🎸🎵
1:09. Joe has the cutest chubby as*
Rip Steve
It's hard to believe that he is 28 years old here in 1988...he looks so much older...Alcohol really wrecks you fast...I know I am a alcoholic of 30 years...I don't why I am still here personally after all the damage I have done to myself
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love giving the world the butterflies...
Im sure ill love it when im one years old
I pinky swear my alien
When Steve died, they lost the magic and special Leppard sound. Yes, Steve was still on Hysteria, but everything after that hasn't been as special.
I wonder what the extent of his background vocals was? He was one of the best.
👀 that's a Superman..
Everyone go watch eddie and the cruisers 😘 youll love it
Because.... ~on the darkside~
Cool Steve So does anybody has to buy drinks in a pub if he s rich thatz how i got it?
Steve Clark got tricked again... He thought cash app card was my main accounts, very emptied...
so his failed attempt to stealing from me was pretty humiliating for him
I never felt better emptying all of def Leppard banks accounts in every world
Nice guy but sounds like jimmy page rip buddy I will miss you
Покойный Кларк
