Tip: If chased by a feral get some distance, head inside a building and close the door, wait for feral to come by the door and slam or open the door and it will cause the feral to be stunned giving you an opportunity by to execute it
This is life saving
👀
I never realized this works on ferals god damn
I found this out after losing like 3 communities from lethal. Lethal is pain. 😢
mine just jumps through the window lmfaooo
I love how you still make content for this game. Whenever I come back, you're always there.
I have a question how can you tell what characters can get stealth to me it's the most important part of the game
We need more content creators like this ^
@@slcanavan1 we need less , and more people that go outside and do usefull things for society 👍
@@douglascalderon5665 yo
@@RecklessGenesis We already have billions of people contributing to society. A couple more million wont do much.
My strategy every game is to immediately look for gas with the 3 survivors and then use the car to loot before you claim your base. So you pretty much have at least 18 inventory slots with the characters, 3 rucksack slots for each character and 4 slots in the vehicle.
That’s a super super good plan you take advantage of the low spawn rates and the back up and one of the only times you have 3 survivors
Excellent strategy. I’m gonna employ it 🙏🏼
@@neshiah4747 you can even kill the closest plague heart with the 2 other survivors before claiming. You can finish it in like 2 minutes
Can’t use the car if starting on nightmare or lethal. No fuel and or too damaged.
@@leafodan3730 wrong. I play a lot on lethal providence ridge and the car that you spawn to isn’t damaged. The gas station is like 30 second of walking distance. Sometimes a toolkit even spawns on the trunk. If not, you can easily search for a toolkit at the sheds closest by your spawn point
If you want to stock up on plague samples without taking too much time or don't have a crossbow but you have plenty of gas. Just find a nice open area inside a plague zone and drive honking your car's horn. Then just avoid running them over going forward and drive backward through the hordes that you attract. Once you have a bunch littering the ground just let things quiet down and collect all the samples.
back to this game after a year, and wow I'm so happy there's so many updates
if you looting to find stuffs you need but you found a lot of loot that you do not need right now, you can just grab them out and bring them outside of the house then drop on the ground, gathering 3 houses in 1 spot to drop things it will be easier after you drive back and just pick them all up
I remember subscribing to you when you had 1000 subs or so. Eventually I dropped off of your videos because I lost interest in State of Decay for a while. I’ve been getting back into it recently. And man it’s awesome to see how much you’ve grown the channel.
Welcome back!
I love how carefully you park in all your videos. Really scratches my neatness itch
Glad I stocked up on the dynamite bundles before it expired
I want WAY more hostile human interactions in the next update or SOD 3
Yeah me too.
As someone who is familar with SoD 2 and played alot of the first game, I enjoyed the previous guide because it showed me things I should get familiar with for end game but looking forward to what this one offers
The safest way to take a feral out is to lure them if you can to a road with rails so they cannot dodge the car and wait till they are right upon the back of the vehicle and just reverse over them. Getting the timing precise and you won't need the stretch of road with rails or fence as they won't see it coming or have time to react.
No need to go all the way up to the fuel depot for gas. The campsite across from the starter base 9 out of 10 times has a gas can and many times you can find either a crossbow or a gun and ammo.
They aren’t even that far from each other. At a point in this game it’s just personal preference
He went there for a repair kit aswell
29:33 be mindful when sending your survivor for treatment bed when your labour is 0. you've made it -1 and give you negative stamina debuff.
Never knew that debuffed you
The way u ez killed the jugegernaut made me actually sad since is the 90% of my deaths, this video helps a lot dude thanks.
You always make me want to start a new game!
Saw you on the UndeadLabs stream a while back and finally got around to checking out one of your videos. Excellent tutorial 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🇬🇧
Awesome, thank you!
Love coking back to the game after a year and seeing the devs have still been updating it and the community still makes videos. Thanks for the guide!
I am so used to you playing without the mini map that each time you reference hordes in the area I am surprised until I remember you have it up. Lol.
This game has come so far since i played it when it first came out im excited to get back into it
those red particles would drive me crazy because they look like the glowing eyes of the zeds
I got super lucky and got one blood plague resistance survivor and one with great immune system but couldn’t get hygiene one I love the guide you got a new subscriber.
The bridge fort is a good base in my opinion. It's really good for defense. If your under siege juggernauts tend to go underneath the bridge and it counts as defeating them once everything is taken out
Thank you Brian! Been waiting for a guide like this for a casual like me. I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the guide back than I pretty sure you can kick the blood feral and stun lock it and it wouldn't move and attack but they patched it sadly
I try not to loot every point at a location - unless i know i will have space - when i max out the inventory. By searching the final container the map blacks out the location which doesn't help when items are left by the player in the container. I think it would be helpful for UL to keep locations on the map white until every container is emptied - like they do with plaguehearts. Now, i don't search the final container, if inventory space is just one slot.
With the juggernauts and using the military vehicle I have sustained near zero damage to the vehicle and taken them out by hitting them on their side as I go past them at full speed and repeat this process three to four times.
The kick move is your friend in this mode. Found that out after my 5th Lethal attempt lol. (Talking about just the default kick, not the flying kick move or whatever lol)
27:30 talk about "streamer's luck." In my three (not even lethal) runs, this place was EMP-TY
Same thing happens to me all the time
Hey man not sure if you're gonna see this or not. But I just wanted to say thanks for making content as a new sub I really enjoyed watching your SOD2 guide playthroughs even as a seasoned SOD2 player I learnt stuff every episode and I enjoyed them a lot so keep up the good work and I look forward to you covering SOD3!
I’d never start a lethal zone playthrough cuz I’m actually terrified of it 😭😭
"Maybe I can hit him with a door."
A wild follower appears suddenly being helpful.
"Damn it."
Thanks for the guide. Its very helpfull for me ! I have a better starting in the lethal zone now
The stuff you leave in your survivors inventory at the end of a game, they keep it for a next game.
So it's a good strategy to have them carry skill books, great weapons, ressources etc... so next time you play them they give you a very good start.
Also when you have a bad situation, leaving the game to main menu and relaoding despawns all ennemies, it's a cheating exploits, but can save a game.
I started to play on nightmare and it’s a tough sob to play but anyway, their was a juggy close to me base. So I got my cross bow and kept shooting him in the head. Finally after 125 bolts later maybe more I gain 15 plague samples from him.
How does one get 15 samples if he only drops like 2-3 ?
I believe NPC's are counted as playing on standard when they attack/get attacked. That would be the main reason they only got around 10-14% after getting knocked on their ass.
I'm never present for zombie sieges. I'll step in to trigger the quest then take off to a friendly enclave. Lost 3 community's trying to defend a siege.
I found climbing on top of a car stops everything from attacking you. Unless theres a juggernaut around. For some reason they dont attack you and eventually just stop moving in general. If you get the mad norma and jump in the bed of the truck it'll even kill some of the zombies for you. And with bloaters just shoot them but i shouldn't have to mention that one.
Favorite game series of all time
Ive started the morning of the 2nd day before because I spent so long looking for the right people. And I hate it when you pop out that perfect group and then spawn either a negative trait, or a stupid 5th skill before you can get to the starter base.
Tip: if you can make a survivor a gunslinger, choose that skill. Use only silenced weapons and use the gunslinger aim snap to take most enemies out quick
If the survivor doesnt have the gunslinging skill, a mysterious wandering trader will have a book to change their shooting skill
Brian, I love your content that’s all I have to say
😊 thank you so much
Really like the content. The only thing to mention is that you could get a pop filter for better viewer experience. Keep up the good work ^^
I go with Driving Hygiene and the last one I wouldn't mind but sewing for that extra Carry capacity
Great vid, just started playing and went straight to Lethal mode. I usually start the game and go to multiplayer to farm influence first. 😅
New to your channel. This is some good stuff. This is my favorite game. Gonna be watching on here from now on. Thanks for making vids for SOD2.
Thankyou, appreciate any help you can give me on lethal 👍👊
Need a new Lethal Zone Guide for update 33! Love your guides Brian
giving me hives watching you use the cursor to move through the menu and inventory pages 🤣 Q and E my man, Q and E!!
I'm curious to know, does the Hygiene trait stack with itself/with other effects that also increase resistance to blood plague?
Yes it does stack with itself and other traits and skills
LETS GO been waiting for this
I already learned something new, I didn’t know traits were important. Good to know cuz I rolled some one with asthma and lung cancer survivor lol
My #1 tip for going into a fresh lethal zone is before you make your legacy characters make 3 Bulk Plague Cure cases and put it on the survivor your gonna use.
Each survivor can hold 3 in a slot and if you break it down that gives you 12 plague cures right off the bat when you enter lethal or if ur doing fine no ones infected ita a huge boost in influence you can trade.
My 2nd would be dont get attached to Armory look for the ammo crafting facility mods. Armories dont transfer but mod stations do. So whatever gun your survivor is using that had the cases of cures use another slot to bring the mod station to give him more ammo to go the distance in case rng holds it off from u for a long time
Gonna miss the old one but ready for the new
The odd little cleo device goes beep beep , I'll learned what it did the hard way
love that. take care Brian, stay healthy
Dude ! How have you been it’s so good to see you
@@BrianMenard I am fine, kids are home, schools closed, so I am enjoying time;) say hi to family
im sturgglig on nightmare right now...imma keep gloing tho
i came from green and lept into lethal that quick as a joke, not downplaying lethal coz it's literally hard af like 20x hard compare to green zone, my adaptability and years of playing survival games kicked in really hard. I like to think that lethal is reallllllyyy intense and tedious (ya need patience if you want to play lethal bud) and where you need to be careful and make good decisions before doing every little thing. That's how i accidentally fell in love with lethal zone lol
First thing after you get to nev base > repair as you got 500% buff to work speed ? ;]
23:21 better late than... to late ;D
Started playing a week ago. Fun game, lots of stuff I like about it. But man, that vehicle inventory is beyond silly. It's more or less the same size as your on-person inventory. I added a mod for that right away. I can deal with the lower personal inventory, that makes halfway decent sense.
I load all of my characters with supplies before ending a game. So when I pull them for another campaign they have some gear.
One thing I don’t do is max out fuel on a vehicle. I’ll let it run down a bit then refuel unless you have more than plenty than go for it, but being conservative is key on here just my opinion
This is a great guide brian
Glad it was helpful!
cant wait for state of decay 3 and series on this channel :D
It would be cool to add a feature that if you take enough rear damage to the car the trunk will be locked down, requiring a toolkit to repair and open.
If you want the game to be that realistic , you might as well add stuffs like if you want to make a kitchen, you need to find dishes and other things that a kitchen requires, otherwise, you can’t make a kitchen. Same goes to the other facilities.
You could also get a skill from the rare skills trader which give you two meds a day and the skill patholegy
Thank you Brian! Love your SoD2 videos M8!
Glad you like them!
@@BrianMenard I like this guide, because you talt about the essential things. Personally I struggle at late midgame to endgame. Like people management and stuff and don't get sidetracked by looting. Guess need also more meele practice.
Arent hero bonuses the best? I go for 2 -25% food consumption people and 1 person who gives 100% blood plague resistance for whole team.
I wish you would explain changing difficulty mid-game. It seems to me like your better off starting over completely?
All right so my first character has blood plague Survivor my second character is incredible immune system my last character is unbreakable crazy metabolism are those ones good
It is probably just my game, but it seems that the loot was nerfed since this playthrough. Every spot I hit is like, "Nope, empty." Brian is getting Warehouses and Army tents, I've got nothin :D Welcome to Lethal zone.
EDIT: Damnit, I got desperate and journeyed too deep and lost my first survivor. Unbreakable didn't last long.
EDIT 2: 2nd Survivor down still trying to find an Ammo Rucksack all the way up by the Red Talon FOB. All three tents and Comm Station were empty, wtf
EDIT 3: Final survivor dead, trying to turn in the teddy bear quest where #2 died. Quest giver just shoots attracting the same Blood Feral. Still no ammo ruck found as of day 5
Oh man, I get nothing but parts. Parts everywhere - in the pharmacy, at the gas station, military tents, food stores... I hit all the spots he mentioned in the beginning and got 1 gas can, 1 fuel ruck, a straw hat and like 235 parts!!! Never seen a crossbow, no firearms, have 9 45's and 2 7.62 cartridges, nobody is selling anything worth a crap. On the other hand, running over plague zeds for a few minutes resulted in lots of brain tissue samples, they were dropping like crazy. I think loot tables are off.
29:50 I had a run when I had 2 samples on me, and they.... asked for 3 😁
Cannot wait for the day they release the 3rd 😮💨😮💨😮💨
No food or medicine for that Tartan market for me in my most recent playthrough.
Watching you get a xbow and shotgun while I only found 7 crafting parts in the same spot lol
lol Damn you didnt find any kind of weapon at all over there ?
@@BrianMenard no, but I searched campsites like you said and found a crossbow there so I appreciate that
Trumbull is the first games map and for veterans its well known. I havent played it yet, im holding my self for this one until i finish SD2 maps first
There is a lot of changes to the map and some new accessible areas but yeah for a SOD 1 veteran like me it was nostalgic because I played the game when first came out on Xbox Live Arcade and played it to death. The Farm Compound base was the best base back in 1 and still is the best in 2!
I clear out infestations asap too.
New sub here, great video bro.
Thank you so much !
Good guide! Helped me out alot 👍
Glad you enjoyed!
Brian, why are you always getting your car's headlights against something when you go looting?
so if ii need to leave in a hurry zombies cant jump on my hood and blow my car up in lethal it only takes a second for a zombie or feral on your hood to blow it up
i was gonna ask the same thing. :) and i tried to google before but nothing was showing up. its a really good tip.
You play very practical.... I like it dude.... Keep it up....hoorah...
Thanks a ton
@@BrianMenard Any more coming out
@@paytondagreat3533 Yupp I will be releasing them maybe one or 2 a week depends on how many I can record
@@BrianMenard I enjoy it... If I think of a challenge can I send it to u....
That box did me dirty... no gun... 8 parts...
Great guide Keep it up Brian 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Appreciate it!
Just rolled someone with BP survivor... but has Movie Trivia for 5th skill, rip.
Semplicemente fenomenale, grande! :)
Your all like whoops I got out the car, were all good.... I'm like no no your not!
The feral wasn't a problem for me, they got easily stunlocked to death by meleeing him against a wall, the real problem came when **a fucking Juggernaut spawned right at my base.**
Two out of three of my survivors died from the blood-plague because of that bastard.
Is it the same amount of hits to kill a juggernaut if you're driving a truck or an SUV as it is a car?
A cool upgrade for this game would be instead of using tool kits you can use tool kits to fix the car and stuff like that there should be body repair kits and battery chargers and stuff like that add new equipment to the game that would make it better instead of changing the look just to make the a better game like that other one but 7 days to cry yeah did you ever go to a movie theater or outside event and you go to the concession stand and the guy sitting there with his truck and he has a battery charger and he just hook it up to your car and boom you get your car battery running again stuff like that would be cool
Radiator fluid all kinds of stuff that would be needed we got to make this game the best zombie apocalypse Base building survival can't get enough of this game game
Looking up tip videos because I started a new community yesterday and 3 ferals spawned inside the base you take at the beginning and I got absolutely destroyed
Your video are very cool.
I was wondering why you didn't repair the beds right when you claimed the base.
I was thinking it was to not make so much noise and prevent a siege tight at the beginning. :D
Yeah that was a mistake on my end
So one of the gameplays... I can't remember if it was this one or the next one you said players who have to use followers a lot often suck, or they are doing it and its lack of skill. You worded it kinder probably but I can't remember the exact words you said.
I had a comment for you on that. You are probably right. In fact, sure you are right for most of them. But some people come from playing RPGs or online games where they actually really liked playing pet classes. Like you are a mage and your mage pet or a dragon pet etc. I would guess that some people are carryovers from this, but uncertain how many to be honest.
Anyway I'm not disagreeing but this may explain some of why some people like to use followers. But probably not all of them are like this since ppl playing zombie survival often are in the shooter game group and not actually in the RPG game group (?)
Can someone please tell me what the black plague samples are used for? I can't find any details online. Only details for blood plague samples. Thanks in advance
Is this the campaign or the heartland . just tryin to get the builder boon 👀
Do I have to be this perfect to be able to play this game?
i don't have all the time and effort, just want to play for fun!
Lol no not at all this are just guide lines to play the hardest difficulty in the game you can play like standard zone and just chill and have fun
"I'm a stickler for clearing out infestations, if I'm in the middle of something that'll be the next things I take care of"
Why?
To be honest the small bit of moral issue never seems to be a big issue and I can't tell if infestations increase difficulty in the area or not. Also it seems like a huge amount of the time when I do go to them it ends up just being free influence because I get out of car and it tells me it is cleared out without me fighting a single thing.
because if you dont its easy for them to get carried away i have seen sooo many players with tons of infestations built up but infestations make a area hard to loot in they hurt your moral big time and they increase spawn rates and make sieges worse so they can get out of hand
@@BrianMenard I always assumed they would increase spawn rate and make sieges worse/more common but both of those 2 things that I assumed I can not find any actual evidence to support. So I just thought it was logical but not an actual game effect.
Thanks for the answer, I'll be more inclined to deal with them now since I really thought all they did was decrease moral.
If anyone does have any links to wikis that help explain infestation impact or even a video where the difference can actually be seen I'd love to for those to be shared. As a programmer myself I'm super analytical and like to see how things function but like I said, I've never found anything that was definitive.
From watching Geoffrey’s stream I learned two things: infestations can/will either grow or spread and secondly hordes on the roads are in transit to create a new infestation
@@jasongorkisch really!that's so cool, and scary
does no 1 have the x3 repeating crossbow? i forgot how i got 3 but every lethal video i see people only using the 1 shot crossbows
An update on this guide with the new infestation update?
Why do you park your car with the front end up against something?
to protect my hood from zombie damage
Good Gameplay Video
Thank you 👍
What happens if you have three screamers and a feral right by your car that you want to fix
So this is the new quide you was talking about the other day?
No
this is my Revamped guide to lethal :D I don't know what I said the other day lol maybe I was referring to this
