Yes it is but you get the + coming up on targets, which is quicker to tap than arm waving. Enjoy your banjo playing, as if you haven’t heard that a hundred times.

I think the Mavic 2 is a great drone, but I had a lot of trouble activating and using FocusTrack even AFTER watching this video. Things this video doesn't tell you: it doesn't activate in 4K/60fps (my default resolution) - I had to find out this in another blog; I have the latest version of the DJI Fly app, but the drone doesn't recognise people waving; It is very difficult to select a target using your finger - the gimbal adjustment bars keep popping up and getting in the way; and then when I eventually got it tracking me (in parallel mode), it only worked if it was quite close - about 25 metres away from me - and even then it seemed not to be able to keep up with me - and I am not a fast walker, with a recent knee replacement! On reflection, I would try to accomplish most of these filming scenes manually, and not bother with the FocusTrack modes.

Are there pre-set cinematic modes available with the mavic air 2 like the spark has? How do you guys get such good footage, my mavic 2 is too jittery so the video comes out pretty poor. Is it purely down to how i am controlling the drone? or is there some camera settings I need to fuck around with?

The current way for Mavic Pro 1 to do this is through Point of Interest, you HAVE to first fly over the POI, and then set up the radius and then start flying. I see no technical difficulties to implement this Focus Track function to all the old models, but of course they wouldn't do it when they could totally do it. Simple business decisions, right?
So these functions all require the phone to be active? How would you do sports tracking without someone else flying the drone?
So use trace when above, and parallel when Along side??

No adjustable aperture!? Not nearly as good quality especially in low light!? This is a great drone for beginners and people just having fun. I will wait for the three!
@@mattviking8533 Hell no. Mavic 3 will have 360 obstacle avoidance and a larger sensor. those are the defining features of their pro line.
How can I do a self close up video footage as if the drone camera is only 10 fr away in front of me ground level?

Is it or will it be possible to track not only from the back, parallel, but also to track from the front? So while eg walking or biking the drone tracks from the front all the time and you can see your face!

No there wont be such Features:( i asked dji and they answered
You should implement those functions on mavic mini. It shares the same app. We will be pleased with that.

hmm, ok iam a paramotor pilot.would be able to use the mavic air 2 to track me.active track.if i carry the app control.e.g on my lap while i fly??
It will work but you will basically have to multi task and that could potentially be hazardous with you up in the air having to focus on your own safety.
That and the fact that your Paramotor could change direction suddenly due a gust of wind which could bring it into a collision course with your drone - you can never ever rely fully on the obstacle detection as it’s not 100% guaranteed to stop or get out of the way in time.
For the reasons above it would be best to have an experienced drone pilot do it instead so that you can concentrate on what you are doing with your paramotor while he concentrates on the drone and taking evasive manoeuvres if necessary.
A propeller from a Mavic Air 2 can slice through your lines or get tangled in it - both of which could pose a danger for you when you’re airborne. If you’re okay with taking risks then you can do it but keep it at a good distance away from you to compensate for any sudden changes in your flight.
Good video. Thanks. BUT- I tried using the Active Track last night on a stationary lighthouse. I was going to use the point of interest function and circle the lighthouse. It would not work. I drew a box around the structure and as soon as the drone started to rotate it would lose the target. I'd love to hear others' results on a house or building.

I’m having just one small issue, using Mavic Air 2. The orientation indicator (bottom center screen) seems to turn red on a regular basis
, while inflight. Could this be a sign of needed calibration
This also happens with mine. After a while it does connect, but the position and orientation of the drone in relation to the remote is completely off. In fairness I have been only flying it in very close proximity. I wonder if this is the cause. Will get out to a more remote location to get safe distance and check the results
Wouldn’t hurt to recalibrate and see if this corrects.
This works for me turn drone on 1st, make sure you have GPS on your phone, for some reason doing it this way it works for me

@@michealmission7890I think you don't need sensors for the "follow"-me function. In the Quickshots, it's possible to mark a centrum, so I believe focus track could be possible with only a small software update
when using focus track how do you deactivate the tutorials that come out automatically when you track the subject?

Can DJI make the Mavic Air 2 controllable directly by phone, at least for limited range? I'm making an active track scene of me running along a trail. But having to carry that big controller with phone attach to it is making it awkward to run and doesn't seem right on camera as well. At least I can slip the phone in by armband.
Hi there, unlike the Mavic Air, users cannot connect the mobile device via Wi-Fi to control the Mavic Air 2 aircraft. The Mavic Air 2 can only be controlled by the remote controller. Thanks for your kind understanding.

No, to get the mini so small and light, DJI had to do away with some of the components that allow for active tracking.
Can the drone use this traking options filming in Slow motion?

Hello, I m kind of desesperate to find a solution to my issue : I would like to active Activetrack during ñy bycicle, but even if I put the remote in my bag I m scared that the remorte touch the bag and something wrong.... Does anyone have an Idea ? Since there is no more WIFI, there no solution to activated the actice track without having the remote in your hand .... thank you for feedback guys

There is no active focus tracking for Mavic Air II : I got DJI Fly application, last version, Android, last version, Huawei P40, last version, Mavic Air 2, last version, last firmware. Absolutely no tracking for moving target, even in wide space, even over 10 metres height. This is a big issue not solved by DJI.

@@dragoljubkelecevic5450 Yes, when you are selecting the point you want to track you have to be fast drawing the square. If you long press and then try to draw the box it enters in the moving the gimbal mode..
So my controller doesn’t have tripod mode as an option. Is it somewhere else within the menu?

I suggest learning how to put music UNDER your narration instead of OVER (wouldn't hurt to get good music at the same time)

Look at all the DJI tutorials for your specific drone and you will find the answer.
Look at them more than once (I did) and you will find your answers.
Also look at the previous asked questions first.
I found answers after looking for te 3th time.
Don't expect an answer from anyone untill you explored all of your options.

hello I have a problem I hesitate between the navic air 2 and the Mavic 2 zoom helped me please
As I am the Mavic 2 Zoom owner, I got to say I am very impressed with the ability to be able to zoom when taking still imaged be more creative and zoom in a lot closer 4x lossless zoom when recording the animals at full HD. You able to record any subject like it’s 20m away even when you are more than 100m away. Everything else is good enough and it’s sufficient as a hobby, vlogger etc.
Mavic Air 2 though is much more advanced in quite a lot of way. More flight time and you can fly even longer but you just won’t be able to zoom in.
If you are going to buy it, I recommend getting Mavic Air 2, better videos and images quality, everything much more advanced just you won’t be able to zoom but due to price a lot cheaper you probably can live with it.
However, as for me owning a Zoom, I won’t be upgrade because it’s not much of a leap as Mavic 2 Zoom is still decent in today.

I figured it out today. When you are in a video mode, you have to drag on an object on your screen. This will highlight the object in green. After that, you should be able to see options for active track, point of interest, and etc.
Thank you! I figured out! Actually the focus mode (spot focus) was not selected at first. By default it was off. However, once I select that mode, now I see the function is working!

Active track does not work for me. When I select a person it doesn't detect. I can't use anything that has to do with following people or vehicles, the drone just can't detect it. I'm shooting in 4k at 30fps and I've tried 25fps at 24 fps and nothing. I am awake because I bought the Drone to work and the Active track does not work. I need to know how to solve this problem as soon as possible. Thank you

Thanks for the video! My active track works fine on cars but it wont ever do it on people. I've tried countless times and waved, ran and jumped around but it still wont frame me. Any ideas?- thabkd
That’s strange. I’ve only used it with people, and our dogs, no issues at all. It could be to do with lighting,, or could it be clothes are similar colour to the scenery? Hope you get it figured out. Amazing kit.

From a new owner's perspective when you do instructional videos saying do Y after doing X is NOT good. Do X then Y is so much easier. Just saying.
