I’m almost at the two minute mark and I’m impressed already. I Purchased an air to ask and it’s on its way here. I’ll have it this coming week. My first drone which I loved was a phantom three pro. I had it for three years but I crashed it and it was all because I didn’t do a proper preflight check. Ironically, it was the return home altitude that somehow had gotten sent to zero. I was doing a DroneDeploy mission over a new neighborhood, and when the mission was done, the drone started coming back to me and descending from about 300 feet all the way down to zero. By the time I knew what was happening I was just seconds away from being able to flip it into Addie mode to stop the descent but I was too late. It hit the ground bounced up, rolled over on its back hit the street and slid right to my feet. It never flew right after that even after having it repaired. The reason I stop the video and I’m commenting here as I noticed in the preflight check in the menu of the year to ask the first item was returned home altitude. If I had I had that setting as a preflight check right up front in an easy to access area I’d still have my phantom three pro to this day. I know the new drones are much more capable, but I tell you I had a Mavic pro after that, and I did not like the Mavic pro at all. I think about large part of that was I had to look at a little iPhone screen instead of my large iPad when I was flying it. But it was just something about it. They didn’t feel as good as the phantom three pro so I’m looking forward to the air to ask in the 1 inch sensor and hopefully it’ll have a good video not the grayed out video my Mavic Pro had. I’ve sent sold the Mavic Pro a few weeks ago for $400 and taking the money and put it toward my air 2S. Thanks for your video. Excited to watch the rest of it.

Very well done and I'll be going over it again with my controller in hand, the drone turned on and practice this stuff. Thanks again. Marc T.
Amazing Vid! Thank you! Can one person fly the drone with the controller, and the other one is using the touchpad on the phone or iPad to controll the Gimbal? When you use touch to go left and right, is the gimbal turning left and right, or the drone? Could you make a fancy shot by "going up" + "sideways" + "Backwards" + "using touch gimbal control" ? That would be a total gamechanger for me.
Yes, you should be able to do all of that. It will take time to practice but I’m sure that you could incorporate multiple movements. I try to add different movements to my drone shots.
Excellent video with great information. Thanks for putting this together, especially the bit about moving your finger on the screen to change the gimble. Good stuff. Marc T.

As I watch this around 18mths have passed since the video was made. I am going through my settings in time with the video. I’m missing the Aeroscope function. Has DJI removed this? If so, why? Thanks.
It should be activated and enabled by default. You just press and hold on the screen as you slide your finger around the screen to control the camera 📷
@@DansTubeTV Yes but only taken off and landed in the back yard. I love it but wanted to sort out care refresh and rego etc. Also needed to learn settings etc. First time flyer apart from an Aldi drone. I have a long way to go before I can use it from the boat on my fishing channel. landing on a moving vessel will be quite the challenge. Very impressive bit of kit though.
Great plan, it will take some time to build that confidence but if you take it step by step then you will be able to land on a moving vessel in no time. I’m launching a drone course for beginners soon - keep tuned 👀
Nice one, thanks for watching. All you have to do is press and drag your finger on the screen - hold your finger on the screen to move the camera in that direction.
Great information. I am just working through this and will probably come back to it to revisit your advice. One question about the map function. I have the RC Pro and when out flying I have really not needed the map much. I always check the Airmap app on my phone and know where I am flying. But the map is there, yet when I tap on it it comes up totally blank, just with my location (and the other day it did show the location of a nearby plane as I was descending to avoid). Is this blank because I have no wifi connection using the RC Pro, or is there something else that I am missing?
Yes, you are correct ✅ If you do not have a wifi or hotspot connection then the maps will not load. I would suggest using your phone to hotspot to your controller, load an area of the map and then you can disconnect your phone.
That feature is enabled by default. You just need to be on the screen where you can see the camera feed (I call it the flight feed). You then press and hold on the screen while dragging your finger to move the camera 📷 👈
@@DansTubeTV The 2S is good. coming to terms with the fixed aperture and NDs, but overall works well. I've changed the motions settings for real estate shoots and it's become fairly smooth :-)

Hi mate great tips one question i have is how do you find the battery discharge settings in the dji app. so you can adjust the level settings thanks mate regards Terry
I don’t believe you can, the menu is a lot more simplified than previous DJI apps. You can view the battery information on the flight menu but the battery settings are pretty limited in the settings.
This one has come at a good time for me, my Air 2S arrived 6 days ago. I got it because the smart controller covers the 2S as well my Mini 2 and Air 2 as well. So things may be a bit different, but shall go through using the notes made via your directions. thank you very much.
Hi. How can i easy draw square on screen and track object? I find it so difficult, instead of drawing square , screen is changing brightness. How can fix it?
@@DansTubeTV Finally we have a Aussie site for drones I live in Victoria could you make a video how to turn it on or show me any videos you have made in the past
I show you how to turn it on in this video: ruclips.net/video/F-5DVAlbbEc/видео.html You also get a live example of what happens when a plane is flying overhead ✈️
What App is this for the 2S. Is it the Go Fly , Go4 ? Can the 2S use the Litchi app? Are there any waypoint missions that can be made in the included app? Thank you. Lastly what is APAS ? Thanks
The Air 2S uses the DJI Fly app, you can unlock waypoints by purchasing a third party app like Litchi or Dronelink. APAS allows the drone to avoid obstacles while continuing to track the subject.
@@IslandDigital DJI Fly is a simplified version of GO 4, I wish that the pro drones had GO 4 as it was more feature-rich and has more settings and freedom for the user. It looks like the GO 4 app has been discontinued.
Hmmm, make sure that the drone is up to date and you are in the video mode. Also look through the camera settings, certain settings might not support 5K.
Really good video to get your head around. There are some things I got my head around that I did not know but once I got my head around I am now using them to get my head around.
You can draw a box around yourself to enable the tracking mode and then choose ActiveTrack. You still want the controller near you incase of near misses or taking control of the drone again. You can also use subject scanning in the settings to make tracking subjects easier.
Excellent video, answered alot of questions I had. DJI owners manual isn't as informative as this video. New user here and looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks
Can somebody tell me if i don't have a internet connection if your in the middle of nowhere can you still fly the air 2s, as every time it tells me to login, or it well have limited flight range 😮 help please, confused

You mention tip 6 control the camera by press and hold, do you mean press a spot on the screen? Press a button on the controller? Not really sure what you mean. TIA
Press and hold on the screen. Your phone should vibrate or the app will make a sound to let you know that you’ve activated that feature. Then you move your finger around on the screen to move the camera (keep your finger held down on the screen the whole time).
For some reason, I do not have the small icon in the lower center of the screen. That is the remote to drone feature.. I had it and then it disappeared. Does anyone know how to get it back?

Okay Dan, I have just bought the air 2s. I have a plan I really want to film myself going around Mount panorama with my drone following me. I have a missionary mate who is going back to Mongolia in April and we have had a plan to just go up there and do a couple of laps around Mount panorama that goes back to before I got into drones about six months ago. If I said tracking mode with bypass on it will follow my car and do the 60 km or just about 60 km an hour in normal mode handle the speed my question is though as I go up the mountain will it adjust the altitude to where I have set it at the bottom of the mountain do you understand what I’m saying. The reason why I have got into Jones is I cannot walk without a walker now and probably for another 12 months as I have two surgeries on my spine coming up goes I got an infection and it has eaten my disc away and half a vertebrae in the operation I had two years ago has not been successful because when I got the infection the bone graft didn’t work says that needs redoing and stabilising. Anyway enough about that I don’t really want to think about the pain and suffering I went through for the last 18 months with this infection. Can you confirm the drone or stay at the same altitude following my car up the mountain or will I need to keep adjusting it to handle the altitude. I hope you understand this and can answer my question.
It is designed to increase in altitude as the subject does so that will not be a problem. Try testing it a few times before taking it to the mountain though.

I don't understand why AirSense is needed if you are limited to 120 meters height? unless you are on an airplane runway. Or is it ment for those cases where one is not following the height restrictions? ps. in some countries the restriction goes down as far as 50 meters, hard to image any airplane at that height....
Hey man I am having a hard time finding a setting to adjust the gimbal roll. With my mavic and phantom I use change in in advance gimbal settings where they had an option called ADJUST GIMBAL ROLL which is not available in DJI fly app anymore. Funny, I didn't notice you saying "get your head around". Just got the 2s, being a new rec flyer, is it important to register with Casa?
Yes, definitely register with CASA. It is worth covering yourself if anything goes wrong 🙌 How are you finding the Air 2S? Have you flown it yet?
@@DansTubeTV Yes but only taken off and landed in the back yard. I love it but wanted to sort out care refresh and rego etc. Also needed to learn settings etc. First time flyer apart from an Aldi drone. I have a long way to go before I can use it from the boat on my fishing channel. landing on a moving vessel will be quite the challenge. Very impressive bit of kit though.
Great plan, it will take some time to build that confidence but if you take it step by step then you will be able to land on a moving vessel in no time. I’m launching a drone course for beginners soon - keep tuned 👀
Top job👍 didn’t understand how to move the camera from the iPhone screen
Cheers
Hey, great tips... I have a question about tip 6, how do you get the interface up to move the camera on the drone with your fingers. thanks!
That feature is enabled by default. You just need to be on the screen where you can see the camera feed (I call it the flight feed). You then press and hold on the screen while dragging your finger to move the camera 📷 👈
Nice video, Drinking game, how many times did you say "get your head around"?
You would be smashed a few minutes in 🍻
Quote of the day: "get your head around". Thanks for all those green tips. It sure is a lot to try out and learn. Or "get your head around" 😃
🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃
Can waypoints be set on this drone?
No, not yet! Once the SDK is released to developers then we will see waypoints through Dronelink, Litchi and the Maven apps.
Is that the only way to pan the camera is by touch screen? I have rc controller
Yes, that is the only way to pan the camera, unless you yaw the drone to capture a panning shot.
Does anyone know how to turn on the HDR on the DJI Air 2S?
I believe that the HDR option is the other option in the color profile.
I should have said earlier, the whole presentation is superb and easy on the eye as well.
That’s good to hear! Thanks for watching 😁
Thanks for sharing this, I think this is the best I' ve viewed for Air 2s information. Thank you. I look forward to more.
I’m really glad to hear that! Thank you for the support, I’ll keep these videos coming ✈️📷
I lived in Wynnum, Lota & Ormiston for 22 years until 5 years ago. Nice to see a map of it! I've just bought the Air 2S to do a fire system shoot.
That’s awesome to hear, do you still live locally? How are you finding the Air 2S so far? Are you happy with it?
@@DansTubeTV We had to move to Ballarat, Victoria for family reasons 5 years ago after 222 years on the bayside. Love to come back on day!
@@DansTubeTV The 2S is good. coming to terms with the fixed aperture and NDs, but overall works well. I've changed the motions settings for real estate shoots and it's become fairly smooth :-)
Hi Dan do you think remote ID will come to Australia or only be used in America 🤔
I don’t know 🤷 it will be interesting to see what happens.
This is great advice to get your head around, getting my head around these ideas really gets your head around so you don't waste time trying to get your head around these tips just get your head around them.
🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃
Best drone ever! I love to use HLG in my movies! Drone is tough! Fast! Stable! And camera is just perfect! Mavic Air 2s is unstoppable! 👍
Agreed! Still one of the best drones on the market 🚀
@@DansTubeTV thanks mate
How low can you go on your shutter speed as I like to shoot water falls that I cant get to in the mountains
If I’m shooting in 25fps then I will only go as low as 1/50 📷
This one has come at a good time for me, my Air 2S arrived 6 days ago. I got it because the smart controller covers the 2S as well my Mini 2 and Air 2 as well. So things may be a bit different, but shall go through using the notes made via your directions. thank you very much.
Awesome, I’m glad that I could help. Thanks for watching 👀
Thanks Dan! Great stuff. I love the Brisbane area! Do you have any aerial footage of the River and West End posted anywhere?
Awesome, thanks for watching. I do not have any footage from those area. I’m in the Redlands.
Hi. How can i easy draw square on screen and track object? I find it so difficult, instead of drawing square , screen is changing brightness. How can fix it?
You need to make sure that you’re in video mode and then press and drag your finger on the screen over a subject.
@@DansTubeTV Thanks! Thaty working. I was drawing square. 👍
Nice work! Still trying to wrap my head around all these features.
You could be wrapping your head around this video for eternity 🙂🙃🙂🙃
Does air sense work in Australia now I thought it only worked in Europe and the US
It works perfectly fine for me and I’m based in Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺
@@DansTubeTV Finally we have a Aussie site for drones I live in Victoria could you make a video how to turn it on or show me any videos you have made in the past
I show you how to turn it on in this video: ruclips.net/video/F-5DVAlbbEc/видео.html
You also get a live example of what happens when a plane is flying overhead ✈️
What App is this for the 2S. Is it the Go Fly , Go4 ? Can the 2S use the Litchi app? Are there any waypoint missions that can be made in the included app? Thank you. Lastly what is APAS ? Thanks
The Air 2S uses the DJI Fly app, you can unlock waypoints by purchasing a third party app like Litchi or Dronelink. APAS allows the drone to avoid obstacles while continuing to track the subject.
@@DansTubeTV Thank you very much :). If you don’t mind me asking , do you know why DJI has the Go 4 AND the FLY ? Major differences ?
@@IslandDigital DJI Fly is a simplified version of GO 4, I wish that the pro drones had GO 4 as it was more feature-rich and has more settings and freedom for the user. It looks like the GO 4 app has been discontinued.
control camera in touch screen dji air 2s cant find pls help 🙏🙏🙏🙏
You need to press and hold on the flight screen and then drag your finger around while you’re still pressing on the screen.
Thank you 🙏🏼 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Please help! I don't seem to get 5K video on my Air2s. Only says 4K....Am i missing something here?!
Hmmm, make sure that the drone is up to date and you are in the video mode. Also look through the camera settings, certain settings might not support 5K.
Mavic Air 2 S does not move left or right when in normal mode! any help
You’ve accidentally tapped the button on the left of the flight screen ✈️ you have disabled left and right movement.
Thank you so much 👍🏼
waiting for my DJI air 2s first drone am nervous will be using your tips thanks
I’m glad that I could help. My drone course has everything that a beginner needs to know, check it out: www.fearlessdrone.academy
For normal videos how much we need to give E.V ??
Leave the EV and adjust the other settings.
Hi thanks for the video, however I noticed in Cine mode the Bypass function is not functional and only brake and off option is there. Please advise.
Ahhh, I didn’t notice that. I’ll look into it when I fly next.
Really good video to get your head around. There are some things I got my head around that I did not know but once I got my head around I am now using them to get my head around.
I’m trying to get my head around this comment 🙂🙃🙂🙃
@@DansTubeTV I sure hope you get your head around it
So, if I am willing to make a video, tracking myself while running, or riding a bike, how do I do it without having the controller in my hand?
You can draw a box around yourself to enable the tracking mode and then choose ActiveTrack. You still want the controller near you incase of near misses or taking control of the drone again. You can also use subject scanning in the settings to make tracking subjects easier.
Excellent video, answered alot of questions I had. DJI owners manual isn't as informative as this video.
New user here and looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks
Wow, I really appreciate that. I’m glad that I could help, thanks for watching 😁
Can somebody tell me if i don't have a internet connection if your in the middle of nowhere can you still fly the air 2s, as every time it tells me to login, or it well have limited flight range 😮 help please, confused
If you are logged in and the drone is setup and up to date before you leave. You can then fly the drone without internet connection. The drone connects to satellites 🛰️ My course might help you: www.fearlessdrone.academy 🚀
Great vid mate 🙂
I just got my first drone this week ‘this one,the air2 s’
Can you Bluetooth your vids and pics to your phone?📱 instead of through the controller at 4.89 to 5.00 mbs?
🙂
You have to connect your phone to the controller from my understanding. There is not an option to send files through bluetooth 📩
Dan, thanks for a great informative video. I am new and a senior, so I understand the learning curve is steep for newbies and the safety precautions you explained are more then helpful... only been out in an open park once and now feel far more confident after applying your recommended settings. Keep up the great work
I’m glad to hear that my tips and settings were helpful! Thank you for commenting, your confidence will grow the more that you fly, take your time. You will start feeling comfortable in no time ✈️
You mention tip 6 control the camera by press and hold, do you mean press a spot on the screen? Press a button on the controller? Not really sure what you mean. TIA
Press and hold on the screen. Your phone should vibrate or the app will make a sound to let you know that you’ve activated that feature. Then you move your finger around on the screen to move the camera (keep your finger held down on the screen the whole time).
Really good tips - thanks man. One thing tho - I’m really struggling to get my head around how many times you said “get your head around” 😵💫🤯🤣
Tell me about it 🙉
For some reason, I do not have the small icon in the lower center of the screen. That is the remote to drone feature.. I had it and then it disappeared. Does anyone know how to get it back?
Weird, I don’t know about that one. Try contacting DJI directly.
Great tips. I feel like the little girl in the Exorcist after getting my head around so many times. Lol
😂 Did you get your head around it though? 😂
@@DansTubeTV a creator with humor,😂 we love this!
If the phrase "get your head around" was brand new at the beginning of this video, then it could be dead by now. Holy shit dude. Do you hear yourself?
@@PHGUY2024 - I didn’t listen to the audio clip back before I sent it off to my editor. I didn’t even realise that I overused the phrase. Now I know, sorry about the discomfort that I have caused you 🙈🤷♂️🤔😳

Tip #27
"Don't forgetting get your head around."
Never Heard that so many times in my life. I busted out laughing every time he said it. Needless to say , I was laughing and awful lot. LMAO. 🤣
I didn’t realise how many times I said it when I did the recording 🙊 Sorry about the cringe 😬
What do you do with the additional 24 degrees? Look at the props! :-) Very well done Dan!
You can get some unique perspectives! I normally just look at the props though 😂
Can you tap to focus on an object on the screen like on the original MP?
I believe so, I was tapping the other day - it seems to focus but it defaults to infinity focus when you launch the drone so I don’t have to tap anymore.
@@DansTubeTV Cant yo use the peak focus red highlights to tell?
Good thinking, I’ll look into that.
@@DansTubeTV But you show a selected yellow square when talking about picking the focus point?
Yes, you can do that 📷
BEST tips for DJI Air 2S !!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No worries!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for watching 👀
I just got my air 2s but I am just getting around 20 mins of flight time, all in n mode by the way. Is this normal?
Yes, you never get the full extent of the quoted flight time. It is always less, it depends on flight conditions, how you fly and what modes you are using.
All the smartphones with Android 13 are compatible with the app?
You will have to check the compatibility on their website for the DJI Fly app.
Really into this Drone!!! Have been creating some great videos out in the Utah area. Searching for Video software and larger volume musical downloads to accompany the same!!
Awesome! Glad to hear, thanks for sharing 😁
Just got my Air 2S. This was a real help. Thanks. Jim

This is great! Thanks so much. I haven’t even flown mine yet, just powered everything up and adjusted to the recommended settings. Before I fly it though, I want to be sure where in my area I can fly it and practice. I know that for drones, the Parks are off-limits, so I’m looking for various friendly paddocks and so forth. I can’t wait! Will you have any updates when they change up the firmware, etc? Anyway-this was really helpful! Thanks for doing this bro!

Will this remote support an iPad Mini up top?
I’m glad that my video was helpful!
No, you will need to buy an attachment piece for an iPad Mini.
@@DansTubeTV, definitely did and thank you.
@@DansTubeTV Sorry I missed that reply so what is your drone course does it cost money I’m not a beginner but we all can still learn things. Thank you for answering the question today as I said I missed your reply and thought you were just trying to flog me of course.

I don't understand why AirSense is needed if you are limited to 120 meters height? unless you are on an airplane runway. Or is it ment for those cases where one is not following the height restrictions?
ps. in some countries the restriction goes down as far as 50 meters, hard to image any airplane at that height....
Some fixed wing planes and helicopters fly lower than 120M, it is good to have AirSense on for those situations.
Watched it to the end and it's a great video, I "have my head around it" now.
That’s awesome! 🙂🙃🙂🙃
I just bought the drone and still I have a lot to learn with this one.
Definitely, this drone features a tonne of options. I hope that my video was helpful ⭐️
Hey man I am having a hard time finding a setting to adjust the gimbal roll. With my mavic and phantom I use change in in advance gimbal settings where they had an option called ADJUST GIMBAL ROLL which is not available in DJI fly app anymore. I really need to control the roll axis and rotate the camera 30-45 degree angles in order to do the things I do for work. I called DJI customer service 4 times so far and they were no help. Can you please help me?
That is really annoying. I couldn’t find that setting when I had a look last - can you adjust the roll in post production?
